  1. There is definitely no way to contact him anywhere. JigginJonT and I even did searches for his name on those "people search" sites and called the numbers of many people with the name "Gary Alexander" (there is no "Gray Alexander".) Nobody knew what we were talking about. The closest we came was someone that had an address in California and moved to Nevada, which Gray said he did. But the number was disconnected when we called.

    FOR THE RECORD:

I did do some sleuthing with Andy to try and track down likely suspects, but I wasn't involved in any of the cold calling. If i remember correctly Andy called like 2 or 3 people just to eliminate those possibilities. I don't want people to get the impression that we were doing a week long manhunt.

Whoever GL is, they have clearly moved on with their lives, and don't wish to revisit the VG arrangement community in any way shape or form. GL was an extremely private person, and I kind of feel bad for trying to track him (her?) down. GL does not want to be found.

That being said, I move that Israfel STOP ALL THE SANDBAGIN' and tell us some shit.

  2. So, I should not go into Music Theory and Composition then, huh?

If you want to learn music theory and composition, that is a good idea. If you think the degree will get you a job as a composer, that is a poor, poor assumption.

Talent can get you work, and contacts you make at college can get you work. Putting "BA in Composition" on your resume isn't going to do much, unless you want to earn a teaching credential or edit music for a publishing company.

  3. The irony is how he basically makes a mockery of all human life and law and order he comes across.
    i·ro·ny

    1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.

    2.Literature.

a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.

The Joker is established early on as a sociopath. If we're going to go by the definition of irony than there is nothing ironic about the Joker in this film. If you want, we can make up a different meaning for the word. Maybe it can mean "likes candy."

  4. Has anyone here started really late?

Is it any more difficult to learn late than to learn as a child?

Depends on how talented you are. Drop $100-$200 on a beater guitar and start playing. You'll be surprised how much you can improve in a couple years.

  5. Why is there a general stigma about the mere concept of fanfiction around here?

If you suck at fanfiction and write a 10 page story called "Cloud and Tifa's first date ^_^" then we, your audience, know that you cope with your loneliness and sexual frustration by projecting your fantasies onto video game characters.

If you submit a shitty, FL techno schlock fest here, all we know about you is that you aren't adept at making music.

Writing tends to give people more insight into who you are as a person, ergo you are more vulnerable, ergo you are at a higher risk of not being perceived as cool, ergo you will probably be made fun of.

  6. gamelore:

    1) the joker is not supposed to be funny

    2) the audience is not supposed to "be a fan" of the morality presented by the movie.

i'm not sure what you look for in movies, but maybe you should come back to this one in a couple years and see if you get a little more out of it.

  7. I'm in at five minutes. This is weird so far, but creative. Which one are you, JJT?

In at thirteen minutes. This is getting good.

    Edit: Finished.

Started out kinda slow, kinda iffy, but it picked up and got really interesting. Fine acting, fine plot, fine finish. I was not expecting that.

I liked it, and I recommend it to anyone willing to go through the registration and flash update.

I also liked the use of that ancient starbrite. Symbolistic in several ways, I think. Very nice.

hey, thanks dude. glad you liked it. i am the guy in the eyeliner. i also wrote the music that the band plays (someone else did the actual soundtrack).

  8. I can't see why. If they are afraid of people "stealing" it, then why put it out on any website at all? Any format one can use to distribute media can be used to copy it.

If it's the comments, there is the option to filter and screen comments before hey are even posted.

If it's some sort of elitist mindset bullshit, tell them to suck it up and go with the bigger, wider way for people to see it.

If it's an issue with image and sound quality, then there's no making them happy.

/not some sort of youtube fanboy, it's just easier and quicker than signing up for some other site.

what the fuck is your problem? i'm not even a part of this equation :?
