  1. I work as hard as anyone, especially since I live in the south. Unemployment is a biiiiiitch! So I have 2 weeks from when the final song is claimed, to produce a wip. Whoo~! Nobody claim Violent Breathing for like 2 months, ok?
  2. For the record I'm really happy with the sound I am capable of right now, though using the half-stack in a residential area isn't particularly convenient (for the neighbors, not for me) A friend on facebook mentioned not having a decent guitar. We thought up this Guitar Center plot thinking it would be an ingenius plan, but then he said he also doesn't have a laptop, so the idea fell flat. I was just so interested in whether this is possible that I had to ask if anyone who worked there knew if this would fly. I suppose if you went in, not knowing any of the people, it would be a dick move. But if you knew the supervisor or whoever, and they gave you clearance to go do it, that might be another story. Not everyone can afford the kind of cash I've plunked into my setup, which is in the thousands of dollars (maybe near 5k) /shrug
  3. I may have misspelled this difficult word that isn't even a real word but Sixto Sounds misspelled "Happy". And you didn't even notice! Just goes to show how some artists get better treatment around here than others. "Oh it's Sixto, why even look we know it's good. PASS"
  4. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across as mad. I was channeling a Boston accent for that post but you couldn't hear it. I don't think they're working on KH3 yet. They're still working on details with Disney to know what worlds they can use. They don't even know that yet, and the guy who writes the story for the game hasn't started yet -- I mean, he can't, because they don't really know what worlds they're allowed to use. But that's neither here nor there, DarkeSword has been assuring us that FFV:Water is on the way, and I have the highest set of hopes. I still think it'll be out before FF15, we'll see how it goes. The interesting thing is since I said that, Versus13 became 15. Hah, they're trying to beat DarkeSword! But DarkeSword can prevail. (I'm not saying he will, I'm saying he CAN.)
  5. Oh are you Square Enix? Because I hadn't seen an official release date announcement for FF15 unless you've got the inside scoop. I'm all ears!
  6. GAME NAME(S): Stevo's Birthday ALBUM CONCEPT: "An OC ReMix project made in the style of the work Stevo Bortz is best known for!" PERSONNEL: Brandon Strader (Director), Sixto Sounds (Artist) TIMELINE: We planned to finish by Midnight on 8/19/2013 CONTENT: Painting of a cake made in MS Paint ARTISTS: Sixto Sounds # of COMPLETED WORKS: 1 # of WORKS-IN-PROGRESS: 0 This project was started on August 18th, 2013. At the time of 4:46pm, I came up with the idea to start an OCR Project for Stevo Bortz’s birthday, and began brainstorming ideas. I decided to recruit Sixto Sounds at 4:48pm to the project. I felt that having one artist for this project would keep it cohesive and allow it to flow more smoothly. There was some turmoil during the project at 4:54pm, when it was discovered that Sixto Sounds was having some reservations about the “OCR nature” of the project and the WIP dates, but he ultimately agreed to participate in the project at 4:55pm after some quick persuasion. The first WIP date was 6pm, no WIP was turned in. At 6:40pm, the artist did not respond. It was suggested that WIP dates could be extended to 2 hours instead of 1 At 7:22PM, the artist responded! At 11:20PM, it became apparent that the artist was probably going to miss the deadline. At 11:40PM, after yelling heartily at the artist, director attempted to use reverse psychology. At 11:45PM the artist revealed that he was attempting to draw the cake. At 11:59PM, director prepared final version of thread for posting. Staff: Project Director: Brandon Strader Artist: Sixto Sounds Executive Producers: Larry “Liontamer” Oji and David “djpretzel” LLoyd This project was conceived out of a love for Stevo Bortz and his work. It is by fans, for fans, and is not officially endorsed by Stevo Bortz. Director Comments: “I am very proud of this project. This game has meant a lot to me ever since I was a child, and it has brought my family closer together. It is the power of gaming and art that has the ability to change lives, and this project is proof of that. I did a great job putting this together, and will take all the credit and glory for its completion.” Artist Comments: “Due dates for a friggin gift. The fuck. Too ocr for me. Get out of my face! I am trying to draw the damn cake jesus dude quit being a babby." Bonus: Cake drawn by director.
  7. Will you be compiling the lore into a finished story when this is over?
  8. That would work. If you were buddies with an employee I figure something like this would be no problem.
  9. I decided yesterday that I was going to name my song 4 It seems too perfect that X4 theme falls into my lap Though obviously the context isn't the same at all I think about things a lot and I don't think I need to explain the significance of the title 4 but it's very personal and depressing
  10. I know and love X4 theme! I WON THE LOTTERY AGAAAAAAAAAIN (imo) (i mean we all know one man's winning the lottery is another man's hey-that-song-sucks!)
  11. images should be BANNED Or for Version 6, put in some type of small thumb nail, and if you WANT to see an image, you can click on it, and it'll either reveal or pop up in one of those fancy built-in image viewing windows But that's beside the point I really want to play this game but I feel like it's a paid MMO in a world where MMOs are systematically going F2p. Interested to hear what others think on that. Personally I can't afford it so sadly I have to sit this out. But I will probably end up watching the crucial story on youtube, which is a terrible way to distribute a main-number FF.
  12. Ever heard of Barnes and Noble or Borders? No? Oh... that's right... they went out of business because people just sat in there reading the books. We've heard a lot of opinions, none yet from an employee or active user of Guitar Center
  13. Honestly I'd rather play with real people over Wi-Fi than a hollow echo of a person who passed nearby at some point. That's creepy.
  14. Thank YOU for following the updates! Heck, we got a couple WAVs since my last post, which I had already put in the first post as being completed. So things definitely sped up, and they will continue to speed up. I like to think of us more as the underking. The king from below that nobody knew would rule them when the time comes.
  15. This comes down to trust. I have no reason to cheat or be dishonest as I'm not 'in it to win it', which is pretty clear by my lack of "She's a Squirter-esque" technomanga thus far. And the fact that we seem to be a vocal-based remix team. If something happened that prevented me from going to work today, and working this double, I'd probably have more serious problems that would prevent me from being able to participate anyway. Hopefully I've heard the bonus source before so I'll have an idea of what it is when you announce it. And maybe I could drive to the nearby concrete plant that has open Wi-Fi and stream off youtube. It's... one way of doing it. Open up your heart to my friendly closeness edit:
  16. The game is ok, but it's not as good and refined as I was hoping for... Also I find the music to be often far too heavy and unfitting. /shrug
  17. Yeah I mean I asked in a really stupid way but I was not requesting any kind of unfair advantage over anyone, I knew what my circumstances were and didn't think it would be a big deal. I was taking the compo too seriously but someone else takes it even more too seriously I apologize for my mistake and it won't happen again.
  18. Fruity loops isn't geared to recording audio. This is neither a debate nor on topic. It's a DAW made initially for crafting beats and has not yet incorporated any kind of friendly user interface for recording and editing multi-track audio, so leave it at that. Has anyone worked at guitar center or heard of someone doing what is described in OP
  19. I almost get disqualified for asking for some fairness in the competition. No biggie I guess. I'm just going to keep focusing on the EP and the compo will remain an afterthought. Heading to the river terminal, I'll catch up with everyone else on Monday evening if I'm lucky.
  20. Man it's too bad you won't be announcing it before 7am on Sunday (the next round themes I mean). Since I have to go next. And I'll be at the river terminal all day until 11pm. Would have liked to at least, familiarize myself with the new themes. If you wouldn't mind secretly sending a mate the themes for next round, I'd appreciate it, and I wouldn't tell anyone you did it and it could be our little secret, and you can deny that you would ever do such a thing publicly (or say ) to throw people off the trail. I probably won't be able to start on it on Sunday anyway but being able to listen to the bonus sources would be good.
  21. Trying to record audio in Fruity Loops would make it take.... 7 hours
  22. Does anyone know if this would even work? Take your laptop and headphones to Guitar Center with a USB recording interface Ask to test out their $3,000 ridiculously priced PRS guitar Record all the guitar parts for a remix Be all like "Ehh I'm not so sure I might come back and test it out again later, plus I need to see how these tracks came out at home" Get home with your guitar tracks ....I guess that's it... Has anyone worked there to know if something like this would fly? edit: I need a usb recording interface immeeeediaatelyyyy!!
