  1. Are you running Windows?

When you installed some of your VST's, they wrote to the Windows registry. Moving them now may corrupt those installations and you will likely find your self without those VST's unless you re-install.
It will be best that you uninstall, re-install, for best results. However, you're not going to save much space except for any that included sound libraries that can be installed to the external disk. .dll's and .fxb's, etc take up little room, so you will do a lot of work for basically no gain.

Resurrecting this thread to add in some music that I always thought had that Mega Man X vibe. They are songs that I always recognized "motiffs" of MMX in. I find this subject highly interested and would love to know more bands that really capture that early MMX vibe. Hell, some of these could have been inspired by the game's OST for all we know!

Iced Earth & Blind Guardian - Beyond the Ice -- Reminded me of some of the more metal oriented level themes, maybe even some end bossfights.

Metal Gear Rising OST - Red Sun -- Come to think of it, this game plays a lot like a AAA 3D MMX game with Zero.

Celldweller - Unshakeable -- Always reminded me of some fire themed factory level like Flame Mammoths stage.

Periphery - Sentient Glow -- This band is heavily influenced by game OST's. The guitarist (Misha Mansoor) even has some FF7 track remakes.

Skyharbor - Out of Time -- The chord progression really reminds me of an MMX track

The Fall of Troy - Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles -- Pure overall megaman vibe.

Avenged Sevenfold - "Blinded in Chains", "Burn it Down" -- There are more tracks from this band, but they have a pretty close sound to how MMX-series OST tracks sound a lot of time. You can tell this band and MMX OST's came from the same source material.

Dream Theater/Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain - One part worth noting is at 1:50 you can see a little bit of the Split Mushroom stage sound coming out(it's very loose, mainly drums). Maybe both were inspired by the same source?

That's all I got for now. There are many bands and other songs that have similar sounding styles.

As a bonus, here is a track from The Reign of Kindo that could fit in an oldschool Megaman game with a little tweaking:

The original version is pretty good too!

Nice collections of metal songs, really.

Aside from this awesome forum, Ferrite doesn't have a groove based timeline, but imho it's the best clip editor in IOS. (convenient sample accurate editing is a must-have for me) It can handle very long files, but doesn't feature fx-busses like typical DAWs. The absence of a beat timeline can be circumvented by importing some (long) dummy beat as your ruler. You may check the basic editing features with the free version - if you get along with it, I can make a test with a 1 hour file to check it's performance.

Yeah, I actually tried Ferrite, but the lack of beat/measure snapping was a turn-off... Especially considering the rather high (by app standards) price of the full version...

  4. Looking for an app that is a quick and easy way to edit and do basic arrangements of audio files. Garage Band almost works, but the limit on the file size/length is too short. I need to be able to edit/arrange multiple-hour-long clips...

It's the quantized/snapped piece that is proving difficult for me to find... Any suggestion would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I'm sure there will be some kind of an FF7 Remake Ultimate Complete Collection for PS7 or so (would be iconic --->> FF7 Remake - 7 Blu-ray discs full of content - after 7 years of development - kept as a company-internal secret for further 7 years - finally announced for PS 7 ;D).

But they seem to work on several FF7 spin-offs these days - unfortunately announced for mobile devicesin many cases.
This one here called "Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier" doesn't seem to be received that well.

But in my opinion the story behind the beginning of the Shinra empire has great potential and I really want to hear this story.
The gameplay reminds me a lot of "Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7" - which is still a pretty interesting FF7 spin-off in my opinion.

I'm actually interested to see how this goes. With a title of First Soldier I was kinda expecting a prequel game where you play as Sephiroth and learn more about his story. Wasn’t expecting this at all lol

Hey, just wanted to lend a word of encouragement. I am always a bit disappointed when a Kickstarter does not meet its goal, so sorry to hear about that.

Listened to several of your tracks and they are really very well produced. Quality stuff.

Maybe you would also be encouraged by some tunes from a friend of mine:
    https://benkoch.bandcamp.com/

"a cure for the song shaped hole in your heart" was created for use with the Navigator's Topical Memory System
"it's a song thing!" roughly corresponds to the Self-Confrontation course from the Biblical Counseling Foundation

These are very different from your project! The subject matter is similar, of course, but there is very little in the way of production; some are little more than the ukulele and a mic. But thought you would enjoy them anyway. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword" Hebrews 4.12!

I wish you the best with your work here. Will try to follow as this project goes on!

    Agree.
