Ah I see. Sorry it took me awhile to reply. I do have a question though for everyone, but unsure if anything can be done about it. I see an overwhelming amount of commentary on my work so far be concerned or bring up the problematic aspect of key sig issues, abrupt changes and dissonance in my songs. I'm not sure how to rectify it. I can't really "ear" it, it seems. And, after getting back a first-time rejection letter from OCR yesterday (didn't make it past the first peer review), same thing applies--and I don't know how to fix that, whether it's discrepancies between MIDI and samples or two different MIDI...and I feel it's killing my chances at making even decent songs. I also get the occasional "song has no space" from certain individuals, but I'm trying to work that out by simply pulling out overcrowded areas (I tried that in Tekno-Saviour) and play it with dB and vol to put instruments in back, mid, or foreground. But yeah... Any tips? I'm unsure how to fix this / these problems, genuinely.

Thanks everyone for the support and critiques--will do my best to try and be more intricate with harps / pizzicatos / arpeggio runs and be more aware of tempo / key signature shifts. It's really hard for me, at least, to temper that latter aspect, especially when working with 2-3 separate sources PLUS the loops in BandLab Online. Guess my ears for certain tones and keys just needs more practice. ^^; Also gonna send my pick to @Bundeslang in like the next few minutes. Hope people enjoy it. :3 @anachromium You're certainly welcome. ♥ Your criticism (nor anyone else's) was too harsh or anything. I think, if anything, it's just a tad overwhelming for me cause I'm fairly new-ish to this gig, so trying to keep everything in mind and get better with each song made is crazy to say the least. But thank you too, for your kindness. I think I am OK with composition crafting, at least, but I understand your delimma. I never really ask about or seek out collabs for similar reasons--because I don't wanna drag others down with my limited knowledge on music crafting / theory or use of a kind of so-so DAW (not anything more legit like Cubase or FL, GarageBand, Ableton Live, etc.) And because I don't know how well it'd mesh taking someone's work on MIDI or WAV or MP3 and slapping it onto BandLab to mess with it further, I don't ask. However, I will keep your offer certainly in mind. And maybe when we're both a little more comfortable in our spheres of music crafting, we can do something way more defined, complex, and cool. @TheVideoGamer I replied to your query above BTW, hun.

@TheVideoGamer Bandlab Online -- sadly I don't have the money to get FL Studio and the like. I do have Cakewalk downloaded, but standard DAWs for me, ATM, is very intimidating to look at. BLO kind of has a bit of the training wheels look with simplified DAW, but the sacrifice is no good instrument VSTs and you're using their loops and stuff unless you find you own .wavs online. It's all royalty free so no laws broken, but my hands are tied to limited things using it, I know. Also yeah I think I saved my song for the highest, best MP3 it could do. I thought it was less than 20 mb, but I'll have to re-check. Why do you ask?

UPDATE: So, apparently, Compoverse does not agree with the length of my song. I tested this out by uploading a different song, that's about 4-5 mins long, and it worked just fine. So anything over ~8 mins and Compoverse says no to it. So what I am going to do is upload a shorter version of the song, but follow it with the longer SoundCloud version, which I'll re-post up here.

Right, sooooo ... it's still buggy AF. I'll opt to do it the alternative way for now. I've uploaded the song as an MP3 file and the blurb for it, etc, to my SoundCloud--also with the ability to download the file. I'll continue to try to upload it to Compoverse because maybe it's just having a go for the moment. Otherwise unsure how to fix it, but this is all I can do for now. ♥

Congrats Soup! And a huge well and good job to everyone else! :3 ♡

I got my vote in. But I'll reiterate what I've said 1000 times over in my critique. None of it is meant to be mean or dissy. I loved all your work, as I usually do. Just this time I had to be a little more nick-picky and arsey, I guess for lack of a better term, because of that. It's all good and so different from the source, and as usual, I like it and respect the hustle. Hope whatever I said in my critiques is helpful tho. All I wanna do is at the very least be helpful. >_<;

Once I am done with this composition for the VGM challenge going on on Newgrounds, gonna have fun with this one. 1 song mixed with both and a bonus source from Lufia II. Probably is going to be 90% MIDI work (first time). ...And only 16 tracks I can work with. Let's see if the uber excitement, over confidence (and pain) pays off, shall we? XD @Wassup Thunder I'm sure whichever you picked, song'll be fantastic.

Me three. And now my brain is uber mush. Song's real complex and full as it is, let alone adding stuff to it. xD

@Wassup Thunder HM! Sorry I had to think on this one. When I was thinking of something for Halcyon Hare, TBPH, the thing I was thinking of was the Primal fight against Tsukuyomi in FFXIV. Long story short, crazy lady turns into a big bunny-eared goddess that uses the power of moonlight and darkness to kill you, mostly with her pipe, fans, and two long katana blades. It's a real fun fight. But converting that to a Maverick--if I could've--I'd figure the received weapons for X & Zero would be along those lines. Maybe a ray beam for X (that can bounce around the area), and the charged up shot releases a dark cloud that can homing beam things on the screen. Zero's would probably be a split Z-saber where he charges forward with two moonlight blades, and his charged would be a 360 degree spin of blades after the charge forward. xD Guess it'd also fit cause the small ray-bunny enemies that appear in some MMX games use their ears to shoot beams at you, so kind of makes sense if the big boss Maverick akin to them absorbs moonlight (or maybe even sunlight) to do attacks with. Unsure if the Maverick would be more kunoichi or samurai in style, but it'd be a cool thing to draw I'd figure. -

@anachromium Man, if I could, I would--but it's been so many years since I've touched acoustic guitar or flute I would probably fail pretty hard on it without substantial practice. Kinda wish I never sold my old band flute TBH. Acoustic guitar also needs new strings. @TheVideoGamer Woot. \o/ I mean mine's pretty experimental, but I thank you specifically for the inspiration. ♥ -

Same here. Trying out a new subset genre of sorts (haven't tried it yet.) Hope it comes out decent. D: -

Hey there. TYSM for the congrats guys, but TBH, it's all of you who should get the biggest congrats. Those were some damned good songs, and I really did have a terrible time picking and choosing amongst the lot. No one song, to me, was "bad", even if a WIP / old project. So congrats all around. @Dextastic TY for the deeper bit of criticism on Catamitus. I'll take it into account with the rest and possibly do a remaster or fidget with it before publishing it fully. @HoboKa It's no problem at all. Was my sincerest pleasure to try to give everyone in-depth critique! Hope they're at least useful... I noticed some questions came up about my work, two of which I'll try to address here: None of the songs, even Halcyon Hare Stage were done using anything but BandLab and whatever SFX, EQ, VSTs, loops and samples are available on there. XD There were no live recordings or using other devices to meld sounds together--hope that doesn't burst anyone's bubble. D: But my deepest TYs for thinking the songs were good enough to sound live recorded! Still think I need better kit to make the sounds less issue-riddled where they do (like some of the clipping or out-of-syncness some of you pointed out,) but perhaps when I get some money I'll move onto a 'real' DAW like FL Studio, see where that takes me. They were all different songs. The one that one was MMX6's Rainy Turtloid (Inami Temple) Stage. Halcyon Hare was an original song I made, just to have the sound aesthetic like a Mega Man X game, and Catamitus was the remix of the Castlevania song 'Aquarius'. Hope that cleared up any confusion. Again, thanks so much for the critiques and the thumbs up. The positive vibes made me blush and the constructive criticisms were super good and thought-provoking. I'll try to take them onboard in future projects. And I'll try to pick something real good for the next PRC! :3
