  1. Reuben Kee wins for best title, I bet. No, seriously. It sounds good that we've got a turnout like this one, and I'm very impressed that there's been some good justice being given to all these undercovered source tunes. I'll see if I can make my vote, though I do feel pressed for time with other things, namely some college projects to be done by the 15th. >.> [EDIT: ok, wtf happened to the emoticons? answers outside the topic please...]
  2. This should be when it comes to the worst, mainly long periods of time when only one or two songs remain. If I ever do that, I'll need a trial run and see what happens, maybe a DW4 source tune. I appreciate the idea tho.
  3. Wow, first day of vBulletin and it's already on page 2 sans response. I think this needs to be looked into more constantly than I thought.
  4. Project News Board January 21st 2008: This is a most important update regarding the project. It requires your utmost attention, so please read carefully. As you guys have seen from PRC111, I have had less and less time to deal with just about anything regarding the music scene within the past year or so. This has also meant that this project in particular had gone really quiet. But don't fret though. In order to help get the ball moving again, I've recruited Monobrow as an assistant director for the project. Katie will be able to help out in providing duties regarding to locating and commenting on WIPs provided from any new signers at this point. In other words, she will be able to get the ball moving again during any abstained absenses I end up facing. A drastic move that will also follow is that all spots that haven't been cleared have been wiped a clean slate out of. That means anyone who occupied the tracks before and haven't finished them are being taken off until they can provide something finished before anyone else could take them again. If you want to consult me concerning any of this, it's best to send me either PMs or emails because I am more likely to respond to those than come into the thread these days. Otherwise, if you're willing to take up a spot on the project, go for it. January 1st 2007: This is sounding more major than I thought. I don't know what the heck happened, but for some reason, we lost the original thread. I updated this thing just before Christmas, and I don't have a clue on how it got kicked off *just* before the vBulletin move. This is something that I don't quite understand. For that, we need to start afresh in a brand new thread. This is not to tell us that the project has completely died out. It has told us that there seems to be a slight mistake trying to place it in General Discussion, where you never know the speed of everyone's posts over such periods of time. But I'd rather not blame it on that right now. So, this is what we're going to do. I will go around and ask for final songs or as close-to-finished renditions as we can possibly can. This will happen from now until some point close to Valentine's Day. After the decided date, then everyone who falls behind from this will purged, no questions asked. At the same time, a second project manager will be located to help bring it through to its more final stages. It's time we got to be serious with this. Losing a project thread has been a catalyst for this process, and we need to make sure that we get a fine delivery after all this. In more positive news, we got a finished track from CarboHydroM. See, THIS is the kind of example I expect people to follow. Do it, please --- Welcome once again, CoE Team (and spectators, of course). This topic will showcase the progress of the Children of Erdrick Dragon Warrior Remix Project, covering the music across the first three games i.e. the “Erdrick Trilogy”. If you want to listen to the games' soundtracks, they're currently at the NES section of Zophar's domain, so it's best that you go there and check them out. This project has been in development for the past year and a bit, and now we really need to get going and see if we can get some finished tracks together. We need to work hard on this. Once again, here’s the project rules for anyone who needs them repeating. Moving on, here is the track listing for the three games. The aim with this is to develop an album of around 20 mixes, so it's ok if not all the tracks get covered. So theoretically, it's shown to be an open project when it comes to choice. 5. Reminding once again that I emailed Andy with my entry. This is what happens when the forum switch had to occur at an interesting time. o_O
  6. Okay, I need to bump this back up. Because of the vBulletin move, I will expand the voting deadline by 36 hours. I know that that would have some people getting confused in general, that's for sure.
  7. Gee, thanks for mentioning it now, when it hasn't been updated since Kamoh was in charge. And that was before he did his ridiculous fractional voting system at the start of the third season. If I see Douli, I'll bring it up with him.
  8. Actually, we haven't got any votes yet. Consider yourself lucky Xela. I know that the times may be a bit of a change as of now, but this is what happens when a girl's gotta sleep. And you saw from me in the past few PRCs - I never got up as early as 5 in the morning. X_x Let me get the mix added in, and we'll see what happens.
  9. The mixing stage is over, and now, the voting stage has begun! To vote, send me a PM with your preference of artists from first to fourth. Contestants don't need to place themselves as they get a first place vote. The vote of the winner of PRC84 (Hetcenus) counts for double. You have until Wednesday, January 3rd 2007 at 4:59PM EST to cast your vote. The winner will get to choose the source material for PRC85! Happy voting, and Happy New Year RAR is coming, bear with me... aluminum - Yield avaris - Bombay Sapphire GSlicer - Bonaparte's Balls Sir Nuts - Goa Zone Xela - Scrambled Thoughts of a Magical Screwdriver
  10. It's not often that I'll partake in this, but I will give this a go. I need to find a way to further improve my artwork, especially since the refurbishments at the Milkyway Wishes camp. And I hope this will be it.
  11. I did a Ristar remix last year. So did Quinn Fox, and I think this is the best that we could get.
  12. Fishy's right. All I've seen of its usage so far is as a cameo on Draggor's Chocarena. I actually had my entry for this finalised two weeks ago, it's just trying to name it that's the bitch at the moment. Don't worry, it's the same process with my Forest of the Treant track on the Tales project too.
  13. General Slicer just killed PRC. Anyway, posts were slow since it was Christmas time, but we still got a steady number of entries coming in. You have 23 hours remaining to get any renditions through, so if you're still working on your remix, get on it!
  14. So now you're saying that my work done with two of the powerups were in vain. I see what you mean with these drastic changes, so alongside my remix (got about two minutes of ideas so far last time I checked) I might have a try at one of those landscapes, possibly Skyhigh (you said it's a mess right now!!). I'd need some ideas on how to tackle it though. KWarp/Arek, can you please email me with a couple of finished pics of other worlds? It's just for inspiration processes, that's all.

PRC83 had a festive song being provided for us to see, in the form of some wintry Sonic coverage. And coming out from beneath the ashes... um... snow rather, Hetcenus came through with a piano rhapsody that managed to take the win. For PRC84, we're still with the same series apparently. Whether it would be a good or bad thing is your judgment, not mine. Either way, here's your source. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Master System) - Scrambled Egg Zone MIDI | MP3 | VGZ Man, a Master System would have been so cool to actually own. The closest I ever came was fiddling around with one owned by one of my elder cousins for half an hour, on The Lucky Dime Caper (some Donald Duck game). I did own a Game Gear but that's a different story. Enough mental flashbacks for now... GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. There is no limit on entry format or file size, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in this thread by NEXT SATURDAY, December 30th at 4:59am Eastern US Time. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. The winner of the previous contest may not enter an eligible mix, but his/her vote will count double. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.
  16. We used to have a remix of that game, but it got taken down in the recent lockdown. Then again it covered the Skerries music, which in essence is actually a re-arranged version of the Donkey Kong Land boss theme. We're game to see more arrangements of this game. I'd thank anyone for taking it up
  17. There was an entire PRC dedicated to that source tune. The PRC storage is at Doulifee's webspace - look it up under PRC73.
  18. You're currently lucky because the original VGMix edit was hosted here among other entries in the third round of RPGamer.com's "Splendid Performance" competition from last year. Gray did the sound render on that version too (I couldn't do anything production-wise with a cheap general midi interface at the time) so don't assume that it's a "collab gone wrong" as falsely accoused (sorry to say that). I thought I was more proud of this version to be honest, especially with the additional production embellishments and the abandomnent of an odd choice of using a low flute instead of a timpani roll in a few sections. In an essence, the arrangement in both versions is still at least 85% all me, yet in both versions Gray was there to help out in making the track come to life, no matter how long it took. While the comparisons are being made (or lack thereof?), can someone tow Liontamer in here? I remember he played this on one of his VG Frequency "best of" shows, so he might know a little more of what's being talked about.
  19. Ashane covered the battle theme if you want that. It was in the Dwelling of Duels May/June 2004 Free Month.
  20. How many joke songs are we going to have in here anyways? Kanjika, thanks very much for your thoughts on this. I did state that right after I'm done with most of the arrangement on the song I will get a real guitarist to come in (though some people claimed that I should take this in a Protricity style direction). I'm assuming you aren't too hot with the "pluck" sound though - that was doubling up a dulcimer with a lute (was it even woodwind, or a string synth? damn, I can't remember X.x). What kind of sound are you looking for there? I'm assuming by your commentary you'd be needing something a little more mellow, or at least something that doesn't have that harsh an attack? Still I love you guys very much. Bear in mind that if there's a next WIP date before the middle of January I might not make it due to Christmas break (all my work's done here at college), but I'm still destined to put forth the rest of the ideas in the coming months.
  21. I understand this is a nice little competition, but in the making of your song, is it okay to publically ask others for feedback as it progressively gets along, like putting it in the WIP forums or anything like that? Either way, I'm game for this, if only to figure out why no one wants to serenade Barret or anything O.o
  22. As awesome as that was, you just wait til Summoning of Spirits comes out. KFC might say the same thing.
  23. Haha, point taken I call dibs on Sonicstyle! So far I put up a link in one of my Deviantart journals (not many people read it and the one person who did comment didn't understand what the hell was going on o_O) and went on some Sonic boards and clarifying some things for some listeners wondering whether the teaser site or the actual PHP page is the actual project. Word seems to be steadily coming out at least.
  24. I understand the unreliability of the project staff (and I see your reasons for it), but this is still simply penalising the popularity for both the project *and* the podcast. Besides, Hadyn didn't get a chance to see his mail until today so please don't see him as ignorant. But I can see what's happened. I just hope it hasn't robbed the project of any kind of "special" mention per se, but I hope the break will still give you time to clear things out after what came to happen. I'm sorry if I caused a fuss over nothing. (and I suppose my voicemail from last week will be deleted too; it'll be too out of date to keep by the next actual VGDJ episode... oh well.)
  25. I'd feel really sorry for you right now, but that's how things go. I know that you wanted to add another one of your crazy spins on the podcast, and I know I love to see you do such things like that. But as a member of the project itself, I still think that it's not a good idea to blame people for doing things that went completely wrong or was mistimed or whatever. On top of that, Hadyn (the guy who didn't respond) mentioned in the project topic itself that he lives in Australia, so he couldn't come anyway. Still I do feel really upset because this was a podcast I was waiting with anticipation for for a really long time. I don't want to act like a pushover, but I felt heartbroken to see this, not only to assume that KFC and SnappleMan have sort of caused this decision, but also a reaction like this. I guess there's no point getting fussy over spilt milk, so I might as well leave you two to do your thing, whichever it is.
