I appreciate the file, though for future purposes, it's best not to share finished works with the rest of the OCR forum personnel. Don't worry, I've got the file now and I'll take a look at it later on this evening.
-
Blame it on the new forum system. We found an error - while we project managers were fine to edit the topic title as we pleased, this new system won't allow us to edit this at all. What a downer.
-
Don't worry, Joker. Your song's safe with me. Also, further bad news has struck - AkumajoBelmont has chickened out. So that means that DW3 Adventure is back up for grabs if anyone wants to have a stab at it. And to think that Robbie's ideas would kick so much ass too

Right, I've sent a mass email out to everyone concerning the project. And from here on in, it's going to get crucial. I stated that I'd start slaving people about from here til February, and this is what's going to happen. I want to see finished produce coming in by February 11th. And if you don't come through with much material without good reason, you will be kicked off until you come up with something. What's going to worry me more is if we face enough problems in the next month to have to resort to finding a second manager. I'm finding it hard enough to find new musicians as it is, let alone a person who would help bring this baby to life. But either way, check your emails and get cracking

The mixing stage is over. The voting stage has begun! To cast your vote, you send me a PM and in that PM you rank the mixes from first to fourth. Contestants don't need to place their own work as they automatically get a first place vote. The winner of PRC84 (Sir Nuts) has a vote that counts twice. You have until Wednesday, January 17th at 5AM EST to send your vote to me. The winner gets to choose the source tune for PRC86! ZIP archive Another Soundscape - Lair of Kikira Dragonlord - Tiny Yellow Fish Manic Cinq - The Happy Punching Bag Xela - I Can Fly The People's Remix Competition 85 PRCv4-7 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC84 saw the second Sonic-related PRC in a row, and among the range of entries it managed to attract, Sir Nuts took the win with something that goes straight back towards his trance roots. Nice work. PRC85 pays host to a game that he transcribed a lot of MIDIs for at VGMusic (look deep in the New-Files) and thus won't stop talking about it. But I think it's about time that can do with some PRC coverage. Come on peeps, it's Taito Little Samson - Kikira's Theme MIDI | MP3 | NSF (track 3) Now that he picked this, there's one step done on his way to infect this game in our minds. We hope from this we get quite the PRC audience to boot. Anyway... GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. There is no limit on entry format or file size, but length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in this thread by NEXT SATURDAY, January 13th at 4:59am Eastern US Time. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. The winner of the previous contest may not enter an eligible mix, but his/her vote will count double. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they receive a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.

Odds are they'd go for Mana Beast's theme ("Meridian Dance") because it "seems more melodic". But either way, the Dark Lich is hard to cover, because it depends more on percussion than actual use of timbres. It's interesting how they pulled it off on the SNES O.O Either way, Forfallen (an aggressive metal side-project envisioned by Jason Vincion) produced .mp3"]"In the Wake of Thanatos" for the November 2005 Mana Dwelling of Duels event. And I praise him so much for approaching it the way that he did

I know. But it turns out that only mods can edit thread titles here these days. Doesn't do much good on us competition runners

OCRA-0008 - Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Project Chaos
Rexy replied to SnappleMan's topic in Album Reviews & Comments
I'm probably a bit late for this now, but to the guy who thought that we missed certain themes out, I would have thought that there were so much musics in the game itself that covering them would merely cause more time than they were worth. When it started out, all the tracks were to be planned on covering the two discs as they were, but it seemed more logical to make a bonus one out of the race and special stage themes. That's possibly the reason why some of the other jingles/bonus musics weren't included. Also, I don't think we would have wanted another Sonniku Ganbatte. While the idea was cute, there's no way in HELL we would come to appreciate that as an approachable song. I bet Rama won't even let it on Remix: ThaSauce if you ask me. So by this rate, I don't think we could even risk it again. You even got your fix by Snaps doing the title screen music which sounded a ilttle similar to it, so I hope it would serve as some kind of compensation or whatever. -
You're damn right. And man, I didn't see much of a high vote turnout; I'd possibly blame vBulletin's arrival (which was actually good) if you ask me, but you never know. Total number of mixes - 5 Total number of votes - 7 (ouch) Highest possible score - 35 avaris takes the last place wooden spoon with 15 points. aluminum and xela are tied for third place 18 points. GSlicer was scraped to second place with 27 points. And the winner of PRC84 is Sir Nuts with 28 points! Another pick for Mr Molina, who once again takes the gold with his trademark trance. Nuts, you have until Friday noon EST to send your next source over. I'm all ears. I hope to catch you all again for PRC85, providing more things relating to the site's framework don't take place. I'll see you there, same OCR time, same OCR channel.

How did this get down to page 2? Let me bump this up for its last 12 hours of voting. And then, we will gather the results all together.
-
Not me, I used Cubase Probably would be a while before I ever come across Reason again.
-
Reuben Kee wins for best title, I bet. No, seriously. It sounds good that we've got a turnout like this one, and I'm very impressed that there's been some good justice being given to all these undercovered source tunes. I'll see if I can make my vote, though I do feel pressed for time with other things, namely some college projects to be done by the 15th. >.> [EDIT: ok, wtf happened to the emoticons? answers outside the topic please...]
-
This should be when it comes to the worst, mainly long periods of time when only one or two songs remain. If I ever do that, I'll need a trial run and see what happens, maybe a DW4 source tune. I appreciate the idea tho.
-
Wow, first day of vBulletin and it's already on page 2 sans response. I think this needs to be looked into more constantly than I thought.

Project News Board January 21st 2008: This is a most important update regarding the project. It requires your utmost attention, so please read carefully. As you guys have seen from PRC111, I have had less and less time to deal with just about anything regarding the music scene within the past year or so. This has also meant that this project in particular had gone really quiet. But don't fret though. In order to help get the ball moving again, I've recruited Monobrow as an assistant director for the project. Katie will be able to help out in providing duties regarding to locating and commenting on WIPs provided from any new signers at this point. In other words, she will be able to get the ball moving again during any abstained absenses I end up facing. A drastic move that will also follow is that all spots that haven't been cleared have been wiped a clean slate out of. That means anyone who occupied the tracks before and haven't finished them are being taken off until they can provide something finished before anyone else could take them again. If you want to consult me concerning any of this, it's best to send me either PMs or emails because I am more likely to respond to those than come into the thread these days. Otherwise, if you're willing to take up a spot on the project, go for it. January 1st 2007: This is sounding more major than I thought. I don't know what the heck happened, but for some reason, we lost the original thread. I updated this thing just before Christmas, and I don't have a clue on how it got kicked off *just* before the vBulletin move. This is something that I don't quite understand. For that, we need to start afresh in a brand new thread. This is not to tell us that the project has completely died out. It has told us that there seems to be a slight mistake trying to place it in General Discussion, where you never know the speed of everyone's posts over such periods of time. But I'd rather not blame it on that right now. So, this is what we're going to do. I will go around and ask for final songs or as close-to-finished renditions as we can possibly can. This will happen from now until some point close to Valentine's Day. After the decided date, then everyone who falls behind from this will purged, no questions asked. At the same time, a second project manager will be located to help bring it through to its more final stages. It's time we got to be serious with this. Losing a project thread has been a catalyst for this process, and we need to make sure that we get a fine delivery after all this. In more positive news, we got a finished track from CarboHydroM. See, THIS is the kind of example I expect people to follow. Do it, please --- Welcome once again, CoE Team (and spectators, of course). This topic will showcase the progress of the Children of Erdrick Dragon Warrior Remix Project, covering the music across the first three games i.e. the “Erdrick Trilogy”. If you want to listen to the games' soundtracks, they're currently at the NES section of Zophar's domain, so it's best that you go there and check them out. This project has been in development for the past year and a bit, and now we really need to get going and see if we can get some finished tracks together. We need to work hard on this. Once again, here’s the project rules for anyone who needs them repeating. Moving on, here is the track listing for the three games. The aim with this is to develop an album of around 20 mixes, so it's ok if not all the tracks get covered. So theoretically, it's shown to be an open project when it comes to choice. MAXIMUM TRACK LIMIT: 25 MINIMUM TRACK LIMIT: 20 CURRENT ASSIGNED SPOTS: 25 COMPLETELY FINISHED SONGS: 9 Untaken tracks (songs that aren’t taken yet; fairly self-explanatory) Overture (DW1 #1 DW2 #1 DW3 #3/#32) [COMPULSORY] Unknown World (DW1 #5 DW2 #11 DW3 #6/23) [COMPULSORY] DW1 Chateau Ladutorm (DW1 #2/3) DW1 Cave (DW1 #6-13) DW1 Battle (DW1 #14) DW1 Dragon King (DW1 #15) DW1 Ending (DW1 #16) DW2 Love Song (DW2 #2) DW2 Chateau (DW2 #3) DW2 Town (DW2 #4) DW2 Fright in Dungeon (DW2 #6) DW2 Small Shrine (DW2 #9) DW2 Travelling with Friends (DW2 #10) DW2 Fight (DW2 #13) DW3 Rondo (DW3 #4) DW3 Adventure (DW3 #5) DW3 Jipang (DW3 #7) DW3 Cave (DW3 #8 ) DW3 Tower (DW3 #9) DW3 Village (DW3 #14) DW3 Town (DW3 #16) DW3 Battle (DW3 #17) DW3 Phantom Ship (DW3 #18 ) DW3 Requiem (DW3 #20) DW3 And Into the Legend (DW3 #26) 100% Complete (Song is finished, titled and with a WAV for the torrents; placement on the project is official) Zoola – DW1 Town “Warrior Awake” (DW1 #4) Jeremy Robson - DW2 Distant Journey "The World Beyond" (DW2 #5) Christian Pacaud - DW2 Dangerous Tower "Funkin' on the 18th Floor" (DW2 #7) The Joker – DW2 Requiem ~ Risk Death “Price of Life” (DW2 #8 ~ DW2 #14) CarboHydroM - DW2 My Road My Journey "Grow" (DW2 #15) Ryan8bit – DW3 Shrine ~ Flying in the Sky ~ Requiem themes (cameo) “The Cycle of Vivification” (DW1 #20© ~ DW2 #8© ~ DW3 #11 ~ #15 ~ #20©) ambient & NeoS – DW3 Pyramid "Polyhedron Priori" (DW3 #10) Rexy – DW2 Ocean Journey ~ DW3 Across the Sea "Just Cruisin'" (DW2 #12 ~ DW3 #12/13/39) Reuben Kee - DW3 Hero Challenge "Dancing with Dragons" (DW3 #19) Instrument contacts Geoffrey Taucer - acoustic guitar (AIM - GeoffTaucer, MSN - midgetboysk8@hotmail.com) MagiNinjA - clarinet, violin (AIM - ReMiXedD, MSN - xmagiragnarok@yahoo.com) PriZm - electric guitar (MSN - prizm_shard@hotmail.com) The Prophet of Mephisto - bass, saxophone, vocals (AIM - mavericksprophet) Ryan8bit - bass, guitars, vocals (AIM - Ryan8bit) XMark - rhythm/solo guitars (AIM - ChexMark) Zoola - saxophones (AIM - zoola4zoola) Ways of contacting me email - bev.wooff@gmail.com (probably the fastest contact) MSN - bevwooff@hotmail.co.uk Skype - moulinrex (don't count on it, haven't used it for a while)

Reminding once again that I emailed Andy with my entry. This is what happens when the forum switch had to occur at an interesting time. o_O
-
Okay, I need to bump this back up. Because of the vBulletin move, I will expand the voting deadline by 36 hours. I know that that would have some people getting confused in general, that's for sure.
-
Gee, thanks for mentioning it now, when it hasn't been updated since Kamoh was in charge. And that was before he did his ridiculous fractional voting system at the start of the third season. If I see Douli, I'll bring it up with him.
-
Actually, we haven't got any votes yet. Consider yourself lucky Xela. I know that the times may be a bit of a change as of now, but this is what happens when a girl's gotta sleep. And you saw from me in the past few PRCs - I never got up as early as 5 in the morning. X_x Let me get the mix added in, and we'll see what happens.

The mixing stage is over, and now, the voting stage has begun! To vote, send me a PM with your preference of artists from first to fourth. Contestants don't need to place themselves as they get a first place vote. The vote of the winner of PRC84 (Hetcenus) counts for double. You have until Wednesday, January 3rd 2007 at 4:59PM EST to cast your vote. The winner will get to choose the source material for PRC85! Happy voting, and Happy New Year RAR is coming, bear with me... aluminum - Yield avaris - Bombay Sapphire GSlicer - Bonaparte's Balls Sir Nuts - Goa Zone Xela - Scrambled Thoughts of a Magical Screwdriver

It's not often that I'll partake in this, but I will give this a go. I need to find a way to further improve my artwork, especially since the refurbishments at the Milkyway Wishes camp. And I hope this will be it.
-
I did a Ristar remix last year. So did Quinn Fox, and I think this is the best that we could get.
-
Fishy's right. All I've seen of its usage so far is as a cameo on Draggor's Chocarena. I actually had my entry for this finalised two weeks ago, it's just trying to name it that's the bitch at the moment. Don't worry, it's the same process with my Forest of the Treant track on the Tales project too.
-
General Slicer just killed PRC. Anyway, posts were slow since it was Christmas time, but we still got a steady number of entries coming in. You have 23 hours remaining to get any renditions through, so if you're still working on your remix, get on it!

Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute - History
Rexy replied to Arek the Absolute's topic in Projects
So now you're saying that my work done with two of the powerups were in vain. I see what you mean with these drastic changes, so alongside my remix (got about two minutes of ideas so far last time I checked) I might have a try at one of those landscapes, possibly Skyhigh (you said it's a mess right now!!). I'd need some ideas on how to tackle it though. KWarp/Arek, can you please email me with a couple of finished pics of other worlds? It's just for inspiration processes, that's all.
