Since when did this turn into a subject of being humble? All Lucavi did was stated a prediction, and I am aware that it was wrong for Gario and Amph, but that's what happens when we're down to the last two in each bracket - it's either black or white. I'm pretty sure the right thing to do would be to just wait til he comes back in here and address the concerns himself, rather than everyone here just suddenly starting to get defensive all over again. That's not what I want to see in the last 36 hours >.<
-
Brandon's right. Lucavi had been supporting Brandon since the beginning, so surely there was no malicious intent. We'll get this resolved.

Lol, I saw the change! I'm now imagining this deep pink marching snare drum with golden stars all over it xD

I saw a couple of tweets about it on Twitter through a couple of the RS personnel. I say if there are future Sonic based tourneys (and I'm pretty sure I won't be taking part in another tourney for some time after this), we should get them to vote more often, especially considering how much they've been following the whole thing (not to mention LOVING Akumajo's and Gario's works even after their respective rounds are over). Either way, why did I put this off until now? >_> So... first of all, Brandon Strader. Opting for a tasteful choice of barbecue pork on his pancake, cooked very well done may I add, though he seemed to have taken a hint from one of wildfire's earlier conflicts and added a hint of soy sauce for a more unique delicacy. There may have been a bit of ease on the key ingredients here, particularly just a little light on the onions, but he makes up for it with all the tender care with the roasting and the right balance between tickling tastebuds and adding punch. The fusion even worked to the point that just when you thought the whole experience was over, the oriental fusions add in a very sudden aftertaste that wants another craving. He really outdid himself this time! I admit, I have been critical of Wildfire in the past two rounds, but she does know how to offer a more gentle delicacy that can be proven more unique as time goes on. The fusion skills have really been coming on a lot better too - in regards to arranging the ingredients, I say that this is her best attempt. The fusion between chilli pepper and sour cream was VERY well balanced, and with her own personal womanly touches she gave it a more blissful setting. Needless to say, the presentation isn't quite as sharp as Brandon's, which made her just lose out for me this time too, but all in all I have to say it's a pretty strong effort. And on the other side of the kitchen, Gario took a hint from AMT earlier and integrated some serious bass into his pancake this week. Though, it wasn't intended to be blended with his choice of apple sauce, but more as being used INSIDE the pancake mix - what?! We didn't say you guys are omelettes!! >_> But it all turned out for the better as it added a quaint element and added to the appeal of the servering itself. Maybe the bass was a little undercooked and could've been easily filled up a bit more, or maybe there could've been more elements of it WITHIN the apple sauce, but as it is it provided the vibe factor of the round. And finally, Syllix. Somehow he went away from the fiery formula that worked well for him in the past two rounds, and went for a more delicate chipotle dressing to accompany his choice of bell peppers this week. The fusion worked that well that they literally shift between each other and equally compliment the laid back nature it had going for it, and with the right identification, we have a work that flowed really well, showed Syllix's growth as a chef, and had a lot of heart into the layout. It won me over Gario's in the end, but by a hair - it was a great round between you both, and I hope he keeps up the progress in the future. And there we go... Robotnik Round 3, finally covered - nice work all. And it'll be interesting to see what happens when Brandon and Gario come together; let's see how it all goes

Oh crud, I forgot... if you make Cid die, that goes into a sequence that makes me blubber almost EVERY SINGLE TIME. ;_; Hence why in future runs, I wanted to make sure he lives >_>
-
I'm pretty sure none of my vocal demos back in around october had any effects whatsoever. Silly pancake
-
Yeah, but can Lepre do the epic metal growl that you're looking for? Either way... I am LATE on the Robotnik Round 3 reviews, I know. I'll have a clear head when I get home tonight, and then I will do them.
-
I must admit, I'm a blubber-wart when it comes to games. Sonic 2 - the end sequence with Sonic falling onto Tails's plane and all the flicky birds flying nearby. It was BEAUTIFUL to me when I first saw it. Klonoa - Again, the ending with the sequence around Lephise's 'Song of Rebirth'. Even to this day, I form puddles at my feet. Rayman 2 - The ending... up until Rayman emerges alive and well. Beyond Good & Evil - The lighthouse destruction scene, and Pey'j's death. Both scenes had a piano/violin music sequence that made me cry. Disgaea 1 - Pretty much the entirety of World 8 due to the use of 'Mourning Angel' as backing music and the visuals that accompany it. Also, the normal ending. Elite Beat Agents - "You're the Inspiration". Nuff said. Yep... I feel like a total softie, I just know it.

Likewise. Having also been involved in a to-be-posted track that will launch a new face into the community (and behind the arrangement even), I'm open to help out any way I can.
-
To be fair, I wasn't expecting this to link to THE Public Enemy. But still, everyone... take after Brandon's example, get off your butt, and go headbang to death. O_o
-
I state an opinion and it's become 'self-righteous'? Honestly, I didn't mean to inflate an ego, or bring anyone down. I compliment the genre work in Amph's track, and I know that he's flexible as a producer, so I can really see him doing good. But I really, REALLY didn't mean to upset anyone. I don't want it to be too late - can we all just brush this aside and move on? Honestly, I feel like public enemy #1 here right now...
-
Oh don't worry, Dustin. It all comes down to the natural choice of votes at the end of the day. I mean, Wildfire did really well against Mokram and halc with more laid back entries, and I feel really surprised with her reaching Round 3. Not to mention that I genuinely thought Syllix did the better song in Round 3 either, but again, that's how the cookie crumbles. Oh balls, that reminds me... pancake commentary is still late... >__>

I'm sorry, I was struggling to condense my message xD That's what i'm like with PMs, struggling to get everything out in one sitting. But yes, usually I tend to be a lot less biased in regards to styles, and pay more attention to the arrangement side of things, which seems to be the centerpiece of the whole thing. I don't care if it's rap, dubstep, rock, classical, or even motherflocking bluegrass - if they ticked the right boxes on the arrangement front for me, then that gives them a bloomin' high chance of getting a vote from me.
-
Well no offense, but... Amph's mix disappointed me. Sure, he did great with towing in Xenon Odyssey on the sax, which was cool but here's my biggest beef - he didn't even weave the sources together. To me it sounds like two separate mixes - a rhodes Emerald Hill in the beginning, and a smooth jazz Rusty Ruin right after. It just DOESN'T work on an arrangement front. That's been my biggest problem all the way through - treatment of Emerald Hill was really sketchy at best. And sure, I may have had some iffy issues with DusK early on, but... I have to say, he had the BEST treatment of the source throughout the entire competition in regards to my competitors. Seriously, no offense to anyone here, but I would LOVE to go up against either Brandon or Gario, to make sure I can REALLY go out with dignity. I want to see it being made HAPPEN - let's do it!!

You guys may think that it's more your kind of song, but in my defense, on last night's Saturday Night SEGA... Even SNS host Gavvie was behind me on the air - the support from Radio SEGA and Sonic Radio that night was really positive In addition, last night was also the Sonic Fan Music Festival over at Sonic Radio (in which SNS was broadcast there as well), and "Magma on the Dancefloor" was the third most popular track submitted for it! (First and second were occupied by .mp3"]a couple of .mp3"]TSS Music Album tracks.) The top 20 countdown only had 2 OCRemix based tracks in the list - that one of mine, and Ichitootah's Balloon Park track for Project Chaos. I was even told that "Hogtied" was suggested by 30 people but didn't quite make the top 20. Makes me wonder exactly how MANY asked for Magma, then
-
You got them right Pete... they're leeching the tartare sauce from the fish and chips. That's what makes it delicious x) Oh wait... these aren't pancake mixes?
-
Surely you can still vote in future matchups even when you're gone? And you really handled it like a champ. To think you were all "dang, I can't do this" when you found out about Sir Jordanius, it shows how much tenacity you had when going into it, and really fought hard to the end. That's very impressive of you, and I hope we get to see your skills keep growing over time I'll definitely be keeping a hold of your stuff on my iPod rotation.

A Sonic CD album, anyone? (Generating interest)

Oh man Pixel... I knew you had a band going from what I read in the Cid project thread, but I didn't think it would be a Ska band! O_o This would be awesome if it's recorded clear enough -
Haha... Brandon definitely isn't too easy to please. Shame that if he lost, he'd be all Alas, that's the nature of the beast. I'm sure you'll have fun with Sky Sanctuary... a theme I covered before
-
Man, that was one exciting matchup set from the pancakes! I regret not being able to send my 'cuisine inspired' criticisms, but who knows, I may still do it anyway. Good job, Brandon and Gario! This is going to be one exciting matchup between you in the bracket final - a repeat of the WCRG final round?

Track done and sent to Matt! Now for the next 2 hours, I aught to get a bloomin' move on with the music video... x)

The Final Fantasy VI Remix Contest: Results are in, check first post!!!

If it was a sequenced piano, then I would've NEVER entered the Dwelling of Duels at all. I hope that answers your question And I do appreciate the gesture about 'nimble fingers', but I don't think I'm ever going to be at kLuTz level, or even Bladiator since you brought up Chopin. I do still enjoy doing these arrangements regardless of style taken -

Thank you on both fronts As I said earlier, the general feedback behind Umaro surprised me especially since I spent a lot less time on it than my other entries, but was still fun to work on. It was also, may I say, the very last remix that I would EVER write in Cubase (have since migrated to Reaper), so what a high note that was. And I had been wanting to do a piano entry somewhere the minute the contest was announced. When I saw that the Empire was still unclaimed, I thought it would be good to work on something that I felt I have done best for the past few years. Can't say I was inspired by Rachmaninoff though as some of his ways of performance are considered INSANE, but I did want to see the Empire as this dominating political force that no one can seem to get away from, even with Terra breaking free from its grasp. It should also explain the cameos slipped in for Kefka, Devil's Lab, and even the - my first taste of the game in a physical form.I'm surprised it went down so well - usually if I do solo piano entries in the Dwelling of Duels they'd tend to get overlooked, but this was a very pleasant surprise -

I love you Calum. Say, how many of those instruments in your Blackjack mix were actually live aside from Xarnax's vocal part? Outside from there, a lot of the realism feels really convincing -
Yeah, you're right... the post office IS faster. Faster than your carrier pidgeons at growing out of date, that is.
