  1. Enter my two pence on the whole Full Force argument. When I first played Symphonia and heard the track as the core battle theme for Sylvarant, I initially thought it sounded catchy and it had me wondering why it wasn't covered. However, as Kyle pointed out, he ended up picking a lot of battle themes that managed to surprass it on a melodic and/or climatic level for this thing, and I have to agree with him on his selection. Talking of which, "Keen Edged Blade" is one of MY favorite battle tracks in Symphonia. Silas's take, while cool to listen to from a project perspective, somehow seems to be rubbing shoulders with me as it sounds like a liberal take on the theme. Can anyone provide a source breakdown in case I'm missing something?
  2. And I think I'm done here. Wonder if we can get beyond 4 people before the deadline...!
  3. Katie, you klutz Somehow, I'm intrigued on how Joker and Lea put "Momentary" together. Was it a case of Lea's arrangement and Joker's production work, or is it something entirely different?
  4. First post! (lol theshizz reference) Obviously, I'm a big fan of what CHM puts together, and his second Brazilian collab shows. Both he and LuiZa have contributed their strengths to a very stunning collab movement for the Symphonia part of the album, and have managed to show justice to the original track with their fun melodies, performances and fun behind it all. I deem this the highlight of Disc 3 for sure. Here's to hoping we'd see more from the pair of them
  5. Hell yes, glad to see this thing is out! On behalf of the musicians, I say thank you Kyle and Lea for putting up with us all for so long and keeping us stimulated all the way. Your dedication is sure to show once I boot up the first track for it - the opening FotS arrangement and all. (lol, who cares if Sixto gets all the chicks, I'm still proud of my take on it ) Anyway, if I were living down the street from you, I'd pass on a bouquet of flowers to say thank you, but for now, here's to having your great ambition hosted on OCR at long last
  6. Whoa, I was almost pressured to finish off tonight as I might not be able to do so tomorrow (just got to record the piano part for it), but at least it gives me time to practice it some more. I'll be ready in time, honestly
  7. Dude, I was hungry. I couldn't think straight. As I was supposed to have said, we don't hate anyone, except for those that hate us and explicitly say so. ... Happy now?
  8. Sarcastic or not, at least I helped out when the tracks themselves were slow, as did Sixto and Joker among others. Mind you, we don't hate anyone. Except for people who jack us off like that.
  9. I dunno about you, but Space Junk is pretty easy in comparison to some of the other galaxies in the game. Though I do admit, there were some tricky parts to some of the stars but nothing that would want to pull your hair out or anything (like it tended to do with that stupid daredevil comet star on Melty Molten... THAT is what I call insane!). Anyway, I'm doing ok so far - got about 90 seconds of stuff down. I'd probably need to brainstorm on what direction to take the rest of the submission while I'm at work today.
  10. SPACE JUNK GALAXY!! Haha, by coincidence I had it as consideration for a PRC source tune a few times, but thought it wouldn't go down well due to the ambient scope of the source tune. Anyway, count me in for this contest
  11. Katie for the freakin' win Now that we're on subject of involving OTHER RPGs for the sake of getting excited about SoS, THIS is what my family in Dragon Quest 5 consists of: Yeah... I need to back away from my DS O.o
  12. Calm down, Alex. Snaps doesn't mean any harm. If he thinks Jake Kaufman's work is better than Sakuraba's, then he can have his danish and eat it. (but I'm with you though, the only Jake soundtrack I particularly *loved* was Shantae) Seriously, why can't we all just get along? Snaps, your opinion is cool and all, but what we are MEANT to be doing is building up hype for when the project comes out, not degrading attention from anybody or for something else. And Alex, the time and place for insults to another remixer is NOT HERE. If you don't like Snaps as a musician, that's fine, but it's not what this thread should be about. Like Larry said, it'll be out when it's out. And if there's anything that people tell us, as long as WE personally like the tracks and ignore the insults that come with it, then that's what makes us better people. As for you listeners, whether you want to enjoy the show or not is up to you
  13. I'll bet your mom this'll be out before Snapple reaches Contra 4. Besides, why's he got a right to complain when he failed to produce a finished track for this thing anyway?

  15. "Nommining of Sprinkles", huh? Pascal, are you trying to invite everyone around for ice cream?
  16. I bet it's more because Katie's a voice of reason among the miasma-influenced men in this thread, thus the rightful deserving of starting new pages
  17. Did I SAY that I could clear DQ5 by 2012? Like I said, me time is getting shorter and shorter out here
  18. What can I say? Txai's horny Whatever happens, with everything SO dang close to completion (last I heard there were only the torrents left), we surely can't have an unveil date for next Christmas, can't we? Heck, I'd eat my boots if I somehow complete Dragon Quest 5 (coming out next week on the DS, woohoo) before the project comes out. And I barely have time to play games outside from weekends either o.O
  19. Whatever, Kyle. Even with your edit, I can still clearly see the original date via good old Google caches. Still, it's prompting me to keep at it with Phantasia; by now I've just reached the future and I'm STILL plowing on
  20. So? I just went with the PS1 release because it seemed the more flashy of the choice between that, the SNES release and the apparently-butchered GBA translation. Gimme a break, Kyle Concerning game coverage, I find it funny I did my remixes long before I got to play the games. Being increasingly familiar with them at this stage is my way of being ready for what kind of punch the project will provide... unless you want us to bring our own booze
  21. Well, considering she's got pink hair, rides on a broomstick and acts a little loopy from what I've seen so far, I won't be surprised
  22. Okay, I have a few things to say here regarding this. Firstly, age means nothing. I was 19 when Time's Anxiety got on the site, so that has nothing to do with mental maturity here. Secondly, aiming this towards the song requests, I personally would have liked to hear a few more tracks from the Symphonia side but I at least respected Kyle's wishes. You should try remixing them yourself, or better yet, take part in the PRC and request them as source tunes when you win. I did this when I wanted to hear some coverage for "The Land of Sylvarant" (PRC118 ). Please, be civil about it Also to try and break down the drama, I just want to add that I FINALLY started playing Phantasia (specifically, the PS1 version) and I'm having a blast with it so far. I just got Arche in my party and I can't wait to see what happens next
  23. Dream Traveler got played on one of the last episodes of VG Frequency (episode 84), so that's at least SOME Symphonia coverage there. I just can't believe it's been nearly 3 years since...
  24. Yep, if there's one thing that hasn't changed since the project's interception, it's me. And I'm still proud of my FotS mix, though whether other people would feel the same is a different story
  25. That's because in Japan, Nintendo World Cup (to give the game's FULL title) and River City Ransom are marketed from the same videogame series (the Kunio-Kun set). Similarities in style are sure to be present in all aspects of the game's presentation. Heck, I remember picking something from this game for PRC70, in time for the 2006 World Cup; a quiet round though, but the voting was hectic, especially with Nineko involved and his fanbase cheering him on. I'm intrigued to see what comes out of this one. Good luck
