  1. I bet it's more because Katie's a voice of reason among the miasma-influenced men in this thread, thus the rightful deserving of starting new pages
  2. Did I SAY that I could clear DQ5 by 2012? Like I said, me time is getting shorter and shorter out here
  3. What can I say? Txai's horny Whatever happens, with everything SO dang close to completion (last I heard there were only the torrents left), we surely can't have an unveil date for next Christmas, can't we? Heck, I'd eat my boots if I somehow complete Dragon Quest 5 (coming out next week on the DS, woohoo) before the project comes out. And I barely have time to play games outside from weekends either o.O
  4. Whatever, Kyle. Even with your edit, I can still clearly see the original date via good old Google caches. Still, it's prompting me to keep at it with Phantasia; by now I've just reached the future and I'm STILL plowing on
  5. So? I just went with the PS1 release because it seemed the more flashy of the choice between that, the SNES release and the apparently-butchered GBA translation. Gimme a break, Kyle Concerning game coverage, I find it funny I did my remixes long before I got to play the games. Being increasingly familiar with them at this stage is my way of being ready for what kind of punch the project will provide... unless you want us to bring our own booze
  6. Well, considering she's got pink hair, rides on a broomstick and acts a little loopy from what I've seen so far, I won't be surprised
  7. Okay, I have a few things to say here regarding this. Firstly, age means nothing. I was 19 when Time's Anxiety got on the site, so that has nothing to do with mental maturity here. Secondly, aiming this towards the song requests, I personally would have liked to hear a few more tracks from the Symphonia side but I at least respected Kyle's wishes. You should try remixing them yourself, or better yet, take part in the PRC and request them as source tunes when you win. I did this when I wanted to hear some coverage for "The Land of Sylvarant" (PRC118 ). Please, be civil about it Also to try and break down the drama, I just want to add that I FINALLY started playing Phantasia (specifically, the PS1 version) and I'm having a blast with it so far. I just got Arche in my party and I can't wait to see what happens next
  8. Dream Traveler got played on one of the last episodes of VG Frequency (episode 84), so that's at least SOME Symphonia coverage there. I just can't believe it's been nearly 3 years since...
  9. Yep, if there's one thing that hasn't changed since the project's interception, it's me. And I'm still proud of my FotS mix, though whether other people would feel the same is a different story
  10. That's because in Japan, Nintendo World Cup (to give the game's FULL title) and River City Ransom are marketed from the same videogame series (the Kunio-Kun set). Similarities in style are sure to be present in all aspects of the game's presentation. Heck, I remember picking something from this game for PRC70, in time for the 2006 World Cup; a quiet round though, but the voting was hectic, especially with Nineko involved and his fanbase cheering him on. I'm intrigued to see what comes out of this one. Good luck
  11. Aagh, I'm slow off the mark. How the heck did we end up with the first multi-source PRC in nearly 4 years anyway? O.o Best of luck to everyone; Diddy Kong and Advance Wars in a mix together sounds like an explosive banana-scented cocktail if done right
  12. I can see a repeat of the True Love PRC all over again. Glad you managed to acknowledge it
  13. I've had this track on my on-the-go playlist for a while now - clearly one of the best on the Cave Story Remix Project. But that's not what got me interested to jump in here - is it me or was I the only one that noted a hint of Corran's passion for all things Star Ocean in there? Specifically, I detected the melody line for the series theme "Star Ocean Forever" creep in at 6:11. I found it odd that no one else sensed it within its 2-year existance
  14. Stuff sent. Just looked at the track list and everything is shaping up to be an awesome project. One question though - how the HELL did you get Protricity, the most hated man on OCR, doing some stuff for you?
  15. When I first saw that game title, I thought "this sounds strangely familiar". Then (as mentioned above) the connections with the Kaikai series clicked into mind - I remember reading a lot about it after somehow taking interest on (the miserable failures of) Heavenly Guardian (Kika Kaikai World in Japan) on the PS2 and Wii. This probably sounds a little too bizarre for me to come up with something coherent, but after what happened last round, I'm almost encouraged to see if I can help out with the slow start for this year. >.>
  16. Ah, the Banjo Kazooie series - one of those many platformer games that I wished that I played. It's a shame it's neither on the VC nor workable in emulation format. Nice selection, J
  17. Just for clarification here, there have been some PRCs in the past that have started without a MIDI file but have used other formats. A MIDI file is actually something that would help those with the weaker musical ears amongst us, just not a fully essential component.
  18. Whoa, Darkwing Duck - nice choice, OneUp! You know, when we see a great NES Capcom Disney game here, we know that we're in for a good compo. I know that the Duck Tales one from last December didn't get much credit for itself though, but seriously, this compo will rock
  19. Sweet, even the wooden spoons got transferred over. I would have thought that a three-person PRC would be tricky to handle for your first gig, but you got your maths done right. Well done on your first PRC hosting job - I'm glad everything went together very smoothly. One last thing though - OneUp doesn't have an "s" in his name; he has nothing to do with Mustin's band of the same name.
  20. Oh lord, Seto submits a source that isn't Fire Emblem for once. A little abstract to open personally, but you're right in that it can be open to quite a few different interpretation styles. Similarly, you managed to open the sixth season well. But remember what happened in that guide and be aware of coding mistakes, like someone would no doubt bring up with the bulleted list (sorry ^^*). Concerning time zones, you're just about an hour out at ThaSauce - 12 noon EDT is actually 9AM PDT. I hope this helps out. But still, this is a good start so keep going.
  21. Well, since it's taking long enough for the admin priviledges to be transferred over, I might as well state my final echoing thoughts here. From what I can say, I've had a good run here over the past 2 and a half years of running this thing. Looking back at everything that happened, even as far back as taking notice of the competition by PRC30 and my first participation in PRC44, I can't believe that so much had evolved in front of my eyes like this. It's been set from right at the beginning that I wouldn't be much like PRC founder reelmojo in spite of maintaining the basic format throughout the years. But in the end, I felt happy being myself guiding through it. It's a strange thing to be looking back to - seeing PRC65's voting stage get delayed, a slight panic over the flow of the contest without the leader, and someone to state the following terminology in paranthesis: "Take one source tune, and just add water." Even though things might have been a bit different if I didn't win PRC64, I look back at that brave move with no regrets. It's been very difficult trying to cope with the structure all the way through - not an easy ride considering the chunk of time extensions, lower turnouts (particularly in the first few rounds of this season or so) and the many exhibitions of "Chickenwarlord vs the World", as stated in the first thread. But in the end, I kept my head high and managed to continue to push this through. Mainly it's because I wanted to make Caleb proud of how this has florished (which he seemed very confident about back in PRC83), but at the end of the day everyone here - whether it had been those that have administrated the competition in the past and present or even the competitors themselves - have done so much in keeping the invigorating strength of the compo alive. Even by looking at the turnout for this anniversary PRC, I feel that under Bundeslang's new direction we may see this compo get stimulated for weeks/months/years/etc to come. Who knows, maybe next anniversary we could beat the attendance record for Shade Man at last. But still, even though this was my last hosting job, I'll still be around to see him adapt to the new role, as well as providing any source MIDIs if any are needed. I also need to update the banners/archives on Doulifee's server to boot, which are better off being thought about for another day. Bunde, once again, I wish you the best of luck for opening PRC season 6 and continuing its long run through. You can do it
  22. Oh wait a second - when checking out the store, it seems as if they're selling bumper stickers as well. Any lower rank contestant that wants one just for taking part, let me know.
  23. 30 minutes have passed. And nope, they didn't. Still, what a voting turnout, gentlemen! Could this also be the highest turnout I've witnessed as a PRC host? I can't even remember myself. But anyway... Total number of mixes - 12 Total number of votes - 17 Highest possible score - 51 This PRC is definitely for the history books! Second highest turnout, highest overall entries and vote quantity at C:TS, and a heck of a lot of difficulty deciding who gets the points - absolutely *wonderful* work, gentlemen - "I Feel the Cosmos", indeed. (Okay Bev, shut up with the Katamari references already and announce the winner...!) Binweasel and his weedy chocobo collided into a last place wooden spoon worth 3 points. OneUp, Pleiade and setokaibarocket make up the joint 9th place gang with 4 points each. Bundeslang, your PRC successor (hopefully), could only muster 8th place with 5 points. just64helpin dumped his broken computer into 7th place with 6 points. DZComposer launched his jazzhands into 6th place with 10 points. evktalo strummed his way through to 5th place with 15 points. Hylian Lemon could only serenade as far as 4th place with 16 points. analoq and Nutritious share their champagne and a joint 2nd place finish with 19 points each. And the winner for PRC130 is Theory of Nonexistance with 27 points! Seriously, the turnout overwhelmed me - I wish I could be giving prizes to more than just the top three, but all the OCR store has is a bunch of clothes! But anyway, well done everyone! You've certainly made this a PRC to remember! Aaron, Dustin and Justin - please PM me your mailing addresses and preferred hoodie sizes so I can order the prizes as soon as possible. [EDIT: After checking out the store, this doesn't seem to be the case. If any of the lower rank contestants want it, I can send you an OCR bumper sticker for taking part. If so, please PM me your maiing addresses so I can get right on it.] And now, as the sun sets in the UK as well as my time here, I'm ready to take up the transfer of administrative rights with Garian (providing he's around). Unless, do you still have access to C:TS's primary servers, Aaron? I'll make a full farewell writeup in a couple of hours or so - I'm in the mood for a bunch of chicken wraps at this time. PRC131 should hopefully start tomorrow, with Bundeslang as your host. Are you all ready for the changeover?
  24. Am I going to be searching for ANOTHER Katamari image to signify this? Wow, thanks for the news! It's all heating up now, with just 30 minutes left. And I'm telling you this now - only two remixers have yet to vote. But will they? O.o
  25. It's a little too late for bonuses Nuts, but I'll at least put it up on Doulifee's server if you send it my way
