Oh, and... Shut up V, I bet you're still jealous over the Xaleph incident -
PRC114: Worshipping rocks? What in Magvel...! (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
The mixing stage is over. Even with the awkward timing of the contest, we've still managed to get a decent turnout, so good for you. This is what's going to happen. You will visit the ThaSauce link and arrange all three entries from first to third with a reasoning attached to your vote. Contestants are encouraged to vote as they will get an extra three points upon doing so, but they should not rank their own entry. The vote of PRC113's winner (setokaibarocket) is doubled, so make sure you impress him. You have until Friday, February 29th at 4:59AM EST to make your vote. The winner will get to choose the source tune for PRC115! Chickenwarlord - Relic Retsej - Earth and Fire Rexy - Magvel at 2AM -
PRC114: Worshipping rocks? What in Magvel...! (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
Well you can still try. There's 8 hours left and I'm sure something can be done at this rate. Heck, I thought I wouldn't finish mine either but I'm still in. Just remember that with PRC, standards could differ from person to person. What may sound like a work in progress to one remixer may sound more like a kickass entry from another. And knowing what I've seen from you in the past, I'm sure your input would sound fine if you send it through. -
PRC114: Worshipping rocks? What in Magvel...! (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)

But will there be anyone to contribute something to it? You guys have 34 hours left, so make good use of your time. Like I said, due to this long wait just for the source tune alone I'm not going to add any time extensions this time around, so BE HASTY. -
D'oh! I didn't read hard enough. Back to the drawing board, lol.

Lockjaw's Locker had a great BGM to go with it, I agree on that. However, given its melodic structures I'm assuming that it'll be very difficult to make an arrangement out of it in comparison to stuff like Stickerbrush Symphony or that lava level track (forgot its name ). That's what made me think that Protricity might have not wanted to initially attempt it. Someone could prove me wrong though, and I'm willing to see it happen

Yeah, you're absolutely right. It's a shame that said party member went through a lot since even the seal of fire, but I suppose we can associate. (If it helps, I'm now in possession of the Rheairds; quick-random-battle-evasion-while-looking-for-treasure, here I come!) I too seem to have good hope for the follow-up as well. Assuming that the Tales Studio have been consistent, we might see something polished, and even if the voice actors face a change it's not going to bother me because I saw it happen in a lot of franchises I've followed in the past, and I didn't let it get to me. (and seriously, they NEED to bring in Kratos somewhere, even if he wouldn't be used in your character party.) Kyle, I know you're probably a little late but I'm ready to try one more track to help speed things along. Since The Prophet took my initial proposal for As Time Goes On (it's ok though, I'm sure he can do better than me), I looked in the soundtrack and thought I could do something with The Final Act. Is that okay with you?

The People's Remix Competition 114 PRCv5-10 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC113 saw just as big a response as PRC111 thanks to some StarTropics coverage being sent in all directions. And amidst the strong turnout, newcomer setokaibarocket sent a surprising first trance adaptation that impressed the majority of the personnel here and gave him the win. Weirdly enough, we have had to wait over the weekend before he could send a source tune but we got one anyway. We're going back to the Game Boy Advance this time, albeit we're looking at an established Nintendo franchise that never saw the light of day outside Japan until it saw some promotion in Super Smash Bros Melee. Any RPG fans in the house? Seto didn't send a description of the piece, but he DID send an apology:- Mind, I still managed to analyse the track myself. Though I have yet to play a Fire Emblem game, I seem to already recognise the theme enough by an interpretation of the Rekka No Ken version from Xenon Odyssey on OverLooked ReMix a couple of years back. Still, this variation's got enough additional material to be considered a stand-alone track in its own right, so that's good enough for me. Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones - Main Theme GSF (library) | MIDI | MP3 This better be the last time we face a delay by this degree. Still, this will also mean that I'm not willing to offer time extensions either, so be on your toes, gentlemen. >.> GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by NEXT TUESDAY, February 26th at 4:59 am Eastern US Time. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.

PRC113: A vacation without R and R, but with yo-yos (StarTropics)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
You got it in in time alright. I label it as "Monday lunchtime EST" while you end up labelling it as "early Tuesday morning" in Australia, so I see where you're coming from. Nonetheless, I got the source and it'll be up before you know it! -
PRC113: A vacation without R and R, but with yo-yos (StarTropics)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
Well I sent a bunch of reminders to him via PM and he hasn't responded. And by the looks of his recent posts he hasn't visited the site since he won the compo. If he doesn't send anything by tomorrow lunchtime, then I'm going to have to consult one of the lower ranks of the contest for a source tune. -

Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
Sadly yes. I don't get why he's taking so long -
Just letting you know that I got that hyped over the project now I actually OBTAINED Tales of Symphonia two weeks back. And you're right, story in this is very engaging and the battle system is actually pretty fun

PRC113: A vacation without R and R, but with yo-yos (StarTropics)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
As good as a set of soundtracks the Advance Wars series have, I'm still willing to wait for the winner to send me a source tune. But I won't wait for long, and I have my own agenda concerning what happens. -

Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
You don't have time to ponder. It's 9AM EST now, I would typically start the PRC again in a few more hours, and you STILL haven't sent me a source tune. I suggest you get cracking immediately. -

Right, bonuses over. There's nothing to worry about; we've got a clear winner. Now, which of you lucky devils ended up reuniting with Dr. Jones? Total number of mixes - 5 Total number of votes - 8 Highest possible score - 24 Chickenwarlord receives yet another last place wooden spoon with 4 points. V___ and his roomie do a half-asleep stagger into fourth place with 8 points. Alex Smith rollerbladed his way into third place with 14 points. OneUp was shunted into second place with 16 points. And the winner of PRC113 is setokaibarocket with 18 points! I can see why it was a close round; even when listening back to your entry I think you didn't do too bad for a rookie. Congratulations on your first win. So, it's now up to you to decide what kind of source tune is required for PRC114. Since you're new I'll state it all here - the source can be any source tune as long as it hasn't been covered on OCR yet. It can open up any song, like you can go for an under-appreciated song in a common game (e.g. FF6 Gogo) or a great song in an under-appreciated game. Site projects don't count though, so stuff like the boss/escape music in Super Metroid is still fair game. When you've made a decision, send me a PM and I'll get onto it. I'll meet you back here on Friday with the next source tune. Be there, or you can be like me and face a boot to the head on the way there. >.> -

Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
Yeah, color me forgetful. The whole ThaSauce voting time change made me completely FORGET to tally the results up. And yes, you're right, I still need to apply all the bonuses as well. Let me attend to it and see what the situation is like. -

Right, NOW we can move onto the mixing stage. To do so, you visit the ThaSauce link and cast your vote among the five entries there - picking out three and ranking them from first to third, with a reasoning alongside it. Contestants are encouraged to vote as they will gain 3 points for themselves upon doing so. The vote of PRC112's winner (Hylian Lemon) is doubled, so make sure you impress him. Due to ThaSauce's downtime, you will have until Tuesday, February 12th at 12 noon EST to cast your votes. The winner will get to choose the source material for PRC114! Legibles Alex Smith - Skanking in the Tropics Chickenwarlord - Normal Pepsi OneUp - House in a Bungalow setokaibarocket - Tequila Sunlight V___ (and his "roomie") - Calypso Illegibles Hylian Lemon - Miracola Mall -
PRC113: A vacation without R and R, but with yo-yos (StarTropics)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
The mixing stage is over! However... I have a feeling it'll be at least a couple of hours before the voting starts at this rate due to the ThaSauce servers inconveniently being down at the moment. I swear, I will get the voting stage ready as soon as it shows its head. -
PRC113: A vacation without R and R, but with yo-yos (StarTropics)

My plan first and foremost is to deal with the PRC, THEN go around planets collecting power stars. I know about the compo's priority, Ben. -

Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
You guys have over 9 hours left to get entries in. Those that still need to make haste should do so now Word of warning though, the voting stage might start without me tomorrow, as at the time of the deadline I'd be out at the mall (Super Mario Galaxy will be MINE!!1) and it may be a couple of hours afterwards until I get back and set up the post here in the thread. Just thought I'd bring it up in advance. -
The People's Remix Competition 113 PRCv5-9 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Though we had a Spyro track as source material for PRC112, everything about it turned out to be less charcoaled and more "fruity", so to speak. I almost threatened to make lemonade for a low turnout, one of the entries was based on fighting in a giant fruit salad, and it was Hylian Lemon who made that track and secured the win there. Continuing on with the citrus trend, PRC113 takes us back to the days of the NES. We've got a Zelda-esque title among tropical lands far away from urban civilisation, and if I mention that it came with an attached letter concerning a later part of the game, then I'm sure you'll pick up on what it is before you scroll down to the title screen...! StarTropics - Miracola MIDI | MP3 | NSF (track 3) He didn't have a MIDI provided, but I helped form one in time. It's so easy to make MIDIs out of anything that was made before 1995, honestly. But oh well...! GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. PRC112: Music can be endless... and hot (Spyro: Eternal Night GBA)
Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
The voting stage is OVER! (And I finally did my alternate, go me!) So, who escaped the pirate fleet and made headway for the Celestial Temple? And who in comparison is still cornered by a Snail Rider? These are the final standings. Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 7 Highest possible score - 21 Chickenwarlord receives another last place wooden spoon with 13 points. OneUp got pushed into second place with 16 points. And the winner of PRC112 is Hylian Lemon with 19 points! Well done again Ben. I found your entry to be interpretive yet amusing, so props for that. You know what to do now - you come up with a source tune and send it over to me. PRC113 should begin on time once it's received. With that said, I'll see you all again on Friday for the next exciting instalment. Now go. Ride out this storm and live to mix another day. -

Rexy replied to Rexy's topic in Competitions
I'm able to see everyone's votes alright. What I haven't been expecting though was a tough call between two of the entries throughout the voting stage. If it's still like that when I check it again, I think my vote will have to decide everything (!). -

Ahoy, is everyone saving their votes for the last minute? There's 9 hours remaining, y'know. As far as my alternate's gone though, I've got a master file ready but I'm too tired to upload it now. Maybe I'll do it in the morning before the results get put up. -

I must admit I was late trying to deal with a bonus entry but I am sure that I will have it polished up before the voting deadline. >.> I will not back off from what I've done so far. But still... The mixing stage is over! This may be nothing like the Metroid compo but we're definitely going places. Good job, all. So, this is what you need to do. You will visit the ThaSauce link, check out the entries and make your vote at the form at the bottom; file them all from first to third and state a reasoning for it. Contestants are encouraged to vote as they will gain an additional 3 points to their score if they do so. Since I won PRC111 my vote gets doubled, so watch out (!). The voting stage will end on Wednesday, January 30th at 4:59AM EST. The winner will get to choose the source material for PRC113!
