  1. darn it. i was really hoping to travel back in time to prevent the borg from assimilating earth too. oh well, there's always going back to steal stuff.
  2. would you have to answer your phone every time the colonel calls you? or maybe when you die, he'll call you and say: snake? snake?! snaaaaaaaaaaaake!!!!!
  3. my biggest gripe is that they put in maria and alucard but left out richter. and while i don't particularly like the character design, i don't think its overly atrocious either. oh yeah, and i've also heard that its not good at the "being a good game" department also. but still, no richter makes me sad. i heard that there's something unlockable between ecclesia and judgment and vice versa. anybody bother to check that out?
  4. i agree. the mountains of crap that get released on the wii doesn't help either. it just drowns out the few gems the wii really has. unfortunately, there's so many non-gamers who buy wii's just for wii sports that nintendo probably doesn't care enough to really hunker down and design some killer apps anymore. they're just gonna rake in the money.
  5. i agree. i use my wii mostly when i have friends or family over for casual gaming. as a solo gaming platform, i pretty much only play no more heroes. i probably won't be selling it though. its still interactive and fun when i have people over, even if all we play is wii sports, boom blox, or one of the raving rabbids games.
  6. could be that it'll require installing hard drive, make it run like a PC game. i'm sure that can save disk space if it requires extraction and decompression to play.
  7. out of curiosity, did anybody play the gameboy color mgs? ghost babel?
  8. i really think the mgst is just an abbreviation for the mgs teaser... i know, i'm no fun at all.
  9. i really think its an abbreviation for mgs teaser...
  10. robo's and frog's themes are two of my favorites in the whole game. never realized how similar robo's theme is to rick roll though.
  11. probably just stands for "teaser". but it does have an "s" so maybe it is an MGS game.
  12. yeah...i'm not sure who green-lighted that one...
  13. yeah i got mine late too and was pleasantly surprised to get a music cd too =p yay!
  14. ok, i was wrong then. the psp does at least say excuse me before it shuts off on you. Though you have to admit that its hard to pay attention to one tiny green light, blinking or not, when its conveniently covered by your right thumb when you're holding the psp. (and no, i don't routinely push my home button to check my battery every now and then when i'm playing a game either.) anyway, back to the subject at hand. i just got my bonus chrono trigger CD in the mail! yay. too bad only 2 songs though.
  15. that red light of imminent battery death is one of those features i like in the NDS -- it lets you know you better find a save point. the psp just shuts off without so much as an excuse me.
  16. I have 2 copies of the PSone release -- one when it first came out (black label) and a greatest hits version. I also have the PSP release, but its still in the shrink wrap. lol.
  17. you know, i must own like 3 different copies of FFT but never bothered to play more than the first 2 missions or so. what is the translation like? and is the psp version any better?
  18. there's some item name changes i've noticed so far -- speed capsules instead of tabs, changes equipment names, etc. i just got to the end of time; been facing off against those guys soon... oh yeah, there's room to add an "h" into Crono's name if you want to now. lol.
  19. yeah that's going to happen. that crunching sound you make when you hit bottom is pretty yummy, isn't it? big fan of your remixes, btw.
  20. no, not for everybody. that's the worst part about it. for $60, its too short a story mode. that's the bottom line. if you like the core mechanics of the game play, and by that i mean you like to invest your time looking for creative ways to get from point a to point b, i think its worth it, but i think the average player would want to wait until its $30 or so. there's just not enough content in the primary story mode so it all depends on how much you enjoy the actual game play to keep going back to it. however, i for one am tired of playing some soldier in an fps shooting nazi's or alien uglies. its a breath of fresh air to do something different and when you hit your stride and nail a series of moves, it's pretty awesome -- like doing a quicktime event except it was actually all you. one my my complaints is the poor use of weapons in the game -- its focused much more on evasion and heavily discourages the use of the guns in the game (they slow you down considerably and you have to auto-drop them if you want to do certain moves). it keeps you moving forward the way the game wants you to (by running and thinking fast), but i think its a missed opportunity here for alternative ways to play the game. you get the "test of faith" achievement if you go through the game without shooting anybody, but i think the game pushes you too hard to do that even if you didn't initially want to.
  21. exactly my sentiment. sure resistance looks nice and all, but i have to say its a pretty standard shooter to me -- its like it was designed by the book so that it'll sell. not that i'm saying its a bad game. i'm sure its fun and great and if i had a ps3, i'd probably buy it. it just doesn't do things differently enough for me to really catch my interest after i played the halo and gears of war games. I thought those were great but i think the whole fps genre is getting old for me. unfortunately for resistance 2, it's caught me after i've played one too many of those kind of games. i'm just tired of being the soldier fighting against a bunch of uglies and want to do something different. mirror's edge did something a bit risky and different and i jumped to buy that game. i'm sure it won't sell as well as resistance 2, but i like to play games that don't always sell well. so far, little big world, valkyria chronicles, and mgs4 are the only ps3 games out right now that i'm interested in. maybe when god of war 3, and 2-3 other exclusive titles come out, i'll look at ps3 again then. i sure hope it gets a redesigned look by then though, because i still think its ugly. shiny but ugly. until then, i'm still enjoying my ps2 and psone library too much to justify buying a whole new ps3 for basically 3 games i want to play right now.
  22. absolutely phenomenal soundtrack! you guys deserve every bit of praise for all your hard work!
  23. i'm still waiting for my game to come in the mail. i pre-ordered it ages ago, but was too cheap to pay for shipping. lol! i liked frog's old dialogue if nothing because it reminded me of cyan from FFVI.
  24. i wasn't a big fan of the remixes on that cd. there were a couple that i thought were ok, but the rest are somewhat uninspired. just my opinion though. the game does a great job with momentum and you really feel like you're flying through the air when you get used to looking for things to bounce/jump/grab and start hitting the right buttons at the right time. however, there are points in the game where you either run into something that breaks up your momentum or its a long jumping puzzle where it does feel less cool. however, there are some pretty intense moments flying through rooftops or bolting through a mall or subway that are really enjoyable.
  25. you speaking of mgs4? i haven't even finished mgs3 yet. been playing the original metal gear on the bonus subsistence disk.
