  1. Vista: DAW + all my VSTs = crash XP: Same DAW, same VSTs = no crash I don't use Vista, but my GF does. If it weren't for that crashing issue that has happened on several computers I've installed Vista on, I'd be using it now.
  2. It's a fighting game, for the PSP. No real "story" other than what's shoved together.
  3. I might as well be married. Lived with my GF for like 3 years now. 2 of which were in a one-room dorm room. So if we can survive that...
  4. It's obvious that we have two very different views on moviegoing, and no amount of back-and-forth is going to change the other's opinion, so let's just agree to disagree here. Also, I never exhibited contempt for this project at all; in fact if you'd look back at the original posts here you'd see that I wished the guy luck despite the fact that I couldn't visualize a way in which this would work for me.
  5. No they didn't. Not a single person said that, save for the people who didn't want to move from VHS to DVD. DVD was a natural successor. Why do you think Laserdiscs failed (other than the giant size of them)? They came out too early compared to VHS; it wasn't a natural flow from one format to another. Trying to FORCE a format switch does not work; that is what Sony is trying to do with Bluray. There is no NEED the high-def generation at THIS point in time. Bluray is going to be seen as the false start of the HD home video generation. Its successor will win because it came along at a more appropriate time.
  6. The main drive of a movie does not have to be a plot; at all. A plot is simply a vehicle (no pun intended) to get from point A to point B. Now, let's take a look at Twisted Metal for a second. Are any of the games known for any sort of deep plot that requires a good time to digest and understand? Any of 'em? No? Didn't think so. So why you would dedicate 50 minutes of a movie that is designed to transfer the feel of Twisted Metal simply to plot purposes is beyond me. Would you take the classic Death Race 2000 and shovel all of its death racing out for just a 10 minute glimpse, and then shovel in a bunch of plot that nobody gives a crap about? Also, try and make your arguments without sounding like a condescending prick next time.
  7. Bluray won a meaningless war against HDDVD. HDDVD was never the true enemy. Most people predicted its demise before the war even began. Bluray will never, EVER win the war against standard DVDs. Now that they have been adopted, people are not simply going to abandon them to another new format that pretty much also demands the purchase of a brand new, very expensive television set as well as sound system just so they can spend even MORE money rebuilding the collection that they already started on DVD. No, it is much too early for a new format.
  8. No one plays a Twisted Metal game for plot; and no one is going to want to watch a Twisted Metal movie for its plot, either. Twisted Metal is about whacked out cars shooting whacked out missiles at other whacked out cars in whacked out locations such as Paris, Hell, and other places.
  9. Guitar Hero guitar > Rock Band guitar (my RB guitar broke fast, no GH guitars have broken on me). Rock Band > Guitar Hero
  10. Update: We've got the parts for the car, only now a new issue has come up. It won't start up to get it to the place to get repaired, which means there's another new issue. Luckily our coming paychecks (31st) will be very sizable, so we can likely take care of whatever it is. The problem is just finding out WHAT it is. I really hope we get this ironed out before the meetup, 'cause we've already paid for the tickets.
  11. No need to be a pretentious ass about it. Nothing I said was "criticism" regarding the film or your work. I just see it as literally impossible to make any sort of passable effort at a Twisted Metal movie on $1,000. But good luck.
  12. Yeah... uh... how are you going to do a Twisted Metal movie on $1,000? I just can't see it.
  13. Twisted Metal seems like the kind of idea that would require some kind of actual budget. How are you going to pull this off? Please don't say bad CGI.
  14. I've invested in Rock Band, have Guitar Hero 2 for the PS2, and GH3 for the Wii. That's 3 different guitar controllers, none of which are compatible with the other. Then a set of Rock Band instruments, and I refuse to buy another set of instruments. These companies need to get their shit together because I am NOT adopting any new game that requires new instruments just because they want a hundred extra dollars each purchase. Fuck that.
  15. Everything sounds good to me.
  16. Willing to share a room with anyone, should they also be willing. We are quiet and do not snore. Also do not take well to snoring of others. Any takers? As I've mentioned in terms of transportation, but car is broken down right now but it SHOULD be up and running and available to seat 3 others (provided you're not a gimongous fatass). I'm so confident that it will be repaired that I have bought tickets.
  17. Payment sent for 2 tickets.
  18. I know of a death metal band based in Japan that's led by a white guy and has a amazingly hot Japanese chick on drums who can double bass like no one's fucking business. I just need to remember the name. Edit: http://www.myspace.com/exsanguinationthrash There it is. Now if I can find a picture of her...
  19. I'm waiting for some paypal money to come in (it might not be in in time ) because we're getting raped on our paychecks right now (not getting the wage we were promised when we started working). Hopefully it comes in on time.
  20. Not long enough to give an accurate review as to its content, just the production (for what's present), so out goes the checklist for now. Production-wise it sounds pretty decent, though perhaps a few instruments are overpowering some of the others and drowning them out. Mostly the strings, in my view. The above comments about the bells sound about right, but I don't think that'd clear up my issue with them entirely; they just sound low quality. Also, I hear a few miscues, most notably at :59 (the backing striking synth that almost sounds like pizzicato).
  21. If I were backpeddling, that would assume that anything I post is to be taken at all seriously ever. Is it? Or isn't it? I don't even know anymore.
  22. Someone left their sarcasm detector at home.
  23. I doubt it.
  24. Listen to some Strapping Young Lad.
  25. Haha, oh wow. FFIV is not a lost gem. There are no true lost gems of FF any longer, now that 5 and 3 have made their way to the US. FFIV = FF2. Yes, our FF2. You seem backwards.
