  1. I enjoyed last nights episode. Highlight of the season so far to me. If only cause it was a rare episode where they stray from tackling relevant modern issues and just take on a really weird idea. The only real reference to something modern was the hadron collider, but that was a minor point.

Any other Aussies notice that the Australian prime minister they used was old Johnny Howard? For the other countries playing along at home, he hasn't been in office since 2007. But it was nice to see them portray Aussies as something other than backwards third worlders.

  2. The new video looks good. But it looks more like a mod of the original game than a new game. All the graphics and the interface are the same, it's just the enemies and weapons that are different.

I'm hoping they're just building around the original game and are going to launch into redesigning the interface for the final game.

The Big Sister just looks like she's gonna be annoying.

  3. I miss Gray. He was always such an easy-beat at chess. I have all the records of our chessgames on my computer.

On that matter, djp is also an easybeat at chess. I think he's the first person since primary school that I manage to beat in 4 moves. (Don't ban me plz dave, I'm sure you're totally awesome at other things!) ;)

I think I have the last conversation I ever had with him on MSN still archived on my main computer as well, will have to go digging. If he was someone else just pretending to be another person, then whoever it was made for a terrific actor. He really was a great person to talk to, and he was single-handedly responsible for getting me on the panel as a judge.

  4. Probably the most popular track on DQD. This one was a surprise package for me. I wasn't expecting newcomer John to make something so serene, yet so haunting for the project. Much like djp's 'Red Waltz', and analoq's 'Adrian's Sleep', this track added a much needed quieter moment in the album amongst all the heavier tracks around it. The NIN reference in this is more towards the latter stuff Trent's released, such as the Ghosts I-IV album, where the idea was making more serene, yet still industrial sounding tracks. John took this idea and made it more friendly to the ears, which was a great undertaking that worked well.

It should also be noted that John took this track after it became open when I dropped The Joker and Luiza's track from the project, which is also now on this site ("No Man is an Island.") Another great track which was plagued by a few production issues that BGC fixed up, and is now also a great track.

But anyway, I look forward to more tracks by John. Even if he keeps using sound clips, it's all good. ;)

  5. The battle icons look like they dominate too much of the screen. I hope they rearrange that before the final release.

It does look interesting, but confusing as all final fantasies look before you play them. It's looking a lot like final fantasy x-2 to me (in combat.) The story reminds me of Spirits Within. I dunno where people are getting the FFVIII feel from.

  6. I supposed I should give my opinion on this remix.

I enjoy listening to this at work, it's very mellow and brooding which fit in well with the theme I was after in DQD. The violin work is great. The solo part towards the end of the mix was most impressive, especially since it was sequenced.

That said, I feel it wasn't close enough to the source to really be considered a remix of it. Like a few other people I had trouble hearing the source beyond the beginning of the mix. It's still a great mix, fitting well within the album, but could've been closer to pay more homage to the source.

  7. Well let's start with the obvious, there are thousands of video game tracks on newgrounds. Not all of them are remixes. I have a few tracks in that list. Two are remixes (which are also on OCR) and one is an original I wrote to suit games.

There may be plagiarised tracks on there, but they'd be caught out by the reviewing public eventually. It's too hard to go through and try and locate them.

  8. I share these quite a bit with the ScoreHero/Guitar Hero community, but for whatever reason not usually this one. I think that's a bit silly. :)

Since I don't have remixing talent myself, this is the best I can do to say "thanks - this mix kicks ass."

Holy fucking christ on a stick. That was awesome. Did you program that all out yourself for guitar hero? If you can share that as downloadable content, I'd love to have a go at that. Looks really difficult too. Did you play it or get an automator to do it?

Either way, That just blows me away.

  9. Update:

I'm rarely around to keep an eye on the competitions that are popping up now. I still keep an eye out for spam, so thanks to those who report the spam posts so I can come in and zap them.

If you want to make a new competition, You should clear it with Douli first, or if you haven't heard a reply in a few days, just start it up and see how it goes. Don't send the requests to me though as I'm not up to par on all the competitions of late.

  10. It's working for me, Yume-Vision. Are you going to the link on the DQD website?

    http://doom2.ocremix.org/download/

Here's a direct link to the torrent:

    http://bt.ocremix.org/files/Doom_II_Delta-Q-Delta.torrent

If it still won't work, you can download the tracks individually from the "tracks" page.

Thanks for the full reviews, Ecnalubma. I'm glad you enjoyed the arc of songs in the album. It was my intention to produce a flowing cohesive album, rather than a collection of tracks like in DSoP.

  11. I don't know if it applies in this case, but some GH tabbers prefer to make the notes fit the actual fret positions as opposed to going by where they are relative to each other like on a piano.

I see your point. I guess 'cause I'm used to playing on a piano more than a guitar that I see it that way. However, pretty much every track that comes with the guitar hero games seems to fit the piano better than the guitar-fret positions.

Specifically for TIB, I still think he didn't quite get it right, even using the fret positions.

  12. while I appreciate the effort of the person who made that TIB track for GH, he did a pretty poor job of lining up the notes. There's a section where the pattern should go 2-1-2-3-2-1-2-3. He has it going 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4.

I'd like to see the Ken Song put up by someone who knows how to make a decent and difficult track. That would be good enough for a release version of GH in my opinion.

  13. the download was like 21 MB

Hmm, I assumed they meant the library. I dunno why I overread "presets". That's good then.

Just arrived at work today. Can't wait to play around with it when I get home. Who's gonna get the first Omnisphere OCReMix up then?

  14. They just released the update patch that contains all of Atmosphere's presets today. Err, yesterday.

Omnisphere is awesome, have I said that already?

I'm assuming it's a download. Which is gonna rape my Internet quota once I get it connected. Still looking forward to it.

    Come on Thursday!
