  1. Pretty impressive for a first mashup. The two songs fit together pretty well. There are a few points where I think they could be synced a little tighter (1:15 and 1:23 sound kinda off to me, in particular), but that's a pretty minor issue. Nice work overall; I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

  2. I've used DVD Decrypter (I'm not going to provide a link, you'll have to look for it yourself) to accomplish that in the past. Use IFO mode, find the clip you want in the Input tab, and use the stream processing tab to isolate the audio (select only the relevant audio tracks, and use the demux option.) (I don't have access to the program right now, so I might be missing a step or two...)

If everything goes smoothly, you should be left with either a plain wave file or a Dolby Digital AC3 file, depending on the audio format used on the DVD. If it's a wave file, you're pretty well good to go. If it's an AC3 file, use something like AC3Filter or HeadAC3he to convert it into a wave or MP3.

  3. Anyway, I've been contacting the guys on the project, & have yet to hear back from some of you. I need an status update on tracks, & need some sort of word. So far the guys I need an update of are:

Sorry I haven't been in touch, things have been unbelievably hectic for me lately. All of my university profs hit the ground running and started piling on the work way too quickly... and I'm working two jobs besides classes. (I'm actually writing this from work, in between clients...)

There's been some minor progress on the WIP front. I still have a few issues I want to work out before sharing it, and I can't estimate how long it'll take... BUT REST ASSURED, there's no way I'm abandoning this project.

  4. F4T4L's probably gonna hate me for saying this, but I'm doubting I'll completely finish my mix by the deadline. Been completely bogged down with work and my engineering workterm report (due friday), and my landlord's been doing some rather noisy renovations, cutting back on my recording time.

If I don't get things finished in time, I'll clean up the very rough demo I recorded a few weeks back and submit that instead. At least it's something.

  5. I am having some technical difficulties at the moment. Please bear with me as I sort it out.
Okay, what the hell? We've been saying this all along; YOU CAN'T USE THE VGDJ NAME!

MY vote is that we have a MUTINY against brushfire. I'm typing this from my phone. In fact, we're on the way to his house right now to beat him up. Ugh.

I for one will NEVER listen to this if it is called VGDJ and doesn't have Pixie and Zircon! They were the originals!!

I shall be boycotting this product.

For some reason this makes me think there's gonna be some sort of passing-of-the-torch kinda thing in the first episode... hmm.

EDIT: GAH. I SWEAR THE TWO PREVIOUS POSTS WEREN'T THERE WHEN I WROTE THIS.

    Downloading now.

  6. I'm happy you guys were able to see them. Myself, I was stuck in a rather bright area of town, and the moon was pretty high in the sky. Couldn't see a damn thing! Light pollution sucks! :P

I really wish I was out of the city. If I was in my home town, I know the exact spot I would have went. Not a single streetlight in sight!

  7. According to this, it seems the best time would be from 9 to 11 tonight:

The Moon is least troublesome during the early evening hours of August 11th. Around 9 to 11 p.m. local time (your local time), both Perseus and the Moon will be hanging low in the north. This low profile reduces lunar glare while positioning the shower's radiant for a nice display of Earthgrazers.
