  1. are those fruity effects? i've already seen badly programmed freeware synths/effects maxing out my cpu almost on their own, for example.
  2. Make the slide notes shorter then. It might be hard to emulate vibrato effects of real instruments convincingly with that method, but it's a little more flexible than LFO vibrato. Whenever I'm using native FL plugins, i do it this way.
  3. Addition to Myth's tutorial: Vibrato Experiment with the length of the slide notes to get different vibrato types.
  4. Ok, I just found the solution: I had to maximize the event editor (100% maximize by clicking onto the event editor bar). With the higher resolution it's possible to set the graph to exactly 0.
  5. Sadly, this "pitch note" only works for fruity plugins unless the vst companies decide to support it. And yes, I do use it a lot I don't know, there are those new automation clips which seem to support melodic pitching better than the messy pitch channel, but i have no idea how to link them to VST midi parameters. Offtopic: I might do something for the Silius project soon, Chris, join me
  6. Is there a way to pitchbend with VSTs apart from using the ch. pitch below the piano roll? It's impossible to get that one back to exactly 0 once you've changed it.
  7. problem A is pretty common to me, Maestro. Some of my older .flps do it sometimes, and i'll have to reload them a couple of times or reboot to make it work. It happens particularly often when i have some Buzz wah wah plugin in my effects chain that i used to use a lot. Might not be of much help, just to let you know it's another thing that occurs here and then.
  8. So if i hadn't already heard this and someone told me about the ingredients of the remix, I wouldn't even have bothered listening to it, no need for happy kitschy wind chime trance beat stuff, thanks. But wow, that trance beat joining in at 0:30 is pure bliss! Even the chimes aren't bad. My favorite parts are probably 1:10 with the march drums, and the key change to minor at 2:20 onwards. Great melodies. 9/10
  9. ArseAssassin had a really nice remix of containment area. Somehow klm09 just crossed him out of the list as Peeples appeared. It's absolutely worthy to be onboard, just ask him, Myth. Man, right now I honestly don't know why I picked that track. I can't hear those 007ish chords anymore. For the record, I uploaded my WIP at soundclick: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/skoshumusic.htm Don't find it that great. I'm a little busy these days, so I don't know if I'll be able to start something new or develop this one nicely. Maybe it would be better to put a 'free' behind e2m1.
  10. Did klm09 just disappear, by the way? Well, I had a 'substancial wip' posted a long time ago, but it's not really breathtaking. I'll post a newer version before the wip deadline. If it's not good enough, I'll either start from scratch again, or someone else might take e2m1 if he can do better.
  11. Whoa, maestro...nicely done! Inspiring, esthetic piano stuff. Turning the Kirby theme into a solo piano piece (or anything classical) really seems the most logical idea. Again, saubere Arbeit, Karl!
  12. First half sounds like Green Day featuring Brian May. Very cool.
  13. you mean, just putting fruity lsd into the main effects channel and configure the instruments there? ive tried, and it works in the program, but again the .mid is piano only.
  14. thanks for trying to help skul. the delay bug mysteriously vanished, but now theres another problem: when i export a midi, all sound channels except the drums are turned into piano. edit, ah, that delay thing had to do with the different port numbers.
  15. ive got a problem with the general midi sounds in FL: somehow each note is doubled when played. its a bit like a fast delay, only that the first note is very silent. its not in the .mids, only in the program.
  16. one of my favorite soundtracks. haha, if i redid that track, i wouldve included some howling chainsaws...that hedgemaze level was pure paranoia. i would have preferred a buildup at the beginning, thats what makes the original so cool imo, that ever repeating utterly stupid bassline and the following buildups towards madness. i really dig your eclectic style though. cheers!
  17. heya, you made it buddy nicely done, very atmospheric. i still prefer your last doom remix that got rejected though...
  18. 70 kb/s, shweeeet all those classics in one afternoon...so cool.
  19. i like the dark world rendition a lot. i find it hard though having to listen to someone leaving out the minor/major key changes in the light world theme...reminds me of myself trying to figure out the melody some years ago when i wasnt into chords at all of course i know that its intentional, im just not able to like it
  20. sheeeeer madness! quite the creative overkill, really. those distorted beat at the end...brutal.
  21. so what, i can listen to this theme forever and ever! it loops quite nicely. maybe thats why the ending is so sudden?
  22. me likes it! i love the percussion combined with the classic acoustic guitar strumming. i can understand that not everyone likes the distorted guitar in that context, but i find it quite enjoyable. prot: maybe youll like the tune a little more if you listen to it as a whole...i could also pick certain things out of it, like the percussion with its loose rhythm, and could say meh, technically imperfect, but if you listen to the song as a whole, it just feels right. same with the distorted guitar i guess. sure, its not what a studio guitar pro would sound like. but to me, this all doesnt matter too much. i'm glad i havent got your judge's ears and brain, so that i can still enjoy what's to be enjoyed here.
  23. wow. that NES stuff was before my time, but it just sounds as bouncy and awesome as the turtles in time soundtrack. must be the same composer? anyway, truly great synths used here.
  24. im not searching for anything specific but for atmospheric background sounds in general. rainfall, waves, drops, animal noises and stuff any suggestions?
  25. wow. thanks for a snes soundtrack that deeply touched/thrilled a 9 year old boy. i dont think i even recognized that it was the music that made SoE so magic to me back then. I just somehow felt very involved in the rather dark atmosphere of that game despite the crappy jokes enjoying your remix a lot. wish i had at least the devices for creating epic stuff like that ok, thats what i had to say. thankya kindly, Mr. Soule. and next week id like to have Hiroki Kikuta on OC.
