  1. The People's Remix Competition 162 PRCv7-06 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! A little earlier as usual, but here's the new PRC round. PRC160 was a typical year-end PRC, with only S|r Nuts submitting a song; PRC161 a typical year-start PRC. Luckily Txai found some time to submit a song. It was a good one, and of course it was good enough to win. Txai selected the source for the new round. PRC Classic of the two weeks The classic of this round is PRC57. The source of that contest was Fantasy Zone Ending Theme. Zeven remixers where able to submit a song. LAOS claimed the Last Place Wooden Spoon. Others who didn't end in the top 3 where Chokster37, Darth Gourry and V_Gasm. Nasenmann couldn't win and even Rexy didn't receive the most points. The winner was Opk with a song called Xmas Zone. This rounds source This round, Txai has selected the source. Black Tiger (ARC) - Stage 1 MP3 ThaSauce link Black Tiger is the game. It's not the first Arcade Game in the PRC history. PRC50 (Penguin Adventure) was the first. Also the classic of this round, PRC57 had an arcade tune (there's always some connection): Fantasy Zone. Other PRC's where PRC63 (Metal Slug) and PRC79 (Bubble Bobble), so it has been a while. The Ocremix database doesn't know the game yet, I haven't seen a single remix in my whole life. Time to change that. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by TUESDAY January 26th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. . You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of the previous contest can't take part, but he/she can enter a Bonus Mix and she/he has a vote that counts twice. Note: The deadline is now on Monday, not Sunday. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.
  2. You're absolutely right The winner of PRC161 is Txai with the maximum score Like PRC160, this is a very slow PRC again. I hope it's just that everyone is busy with new-year things so the next PRC should be a regular PRC with more songs. I'm happy Txai submitted a nice song, he may select the next source. Txai, send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file if you can) by PM (Click here) before next Friday, January 15th at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://bambombim.googlepages.com/bambombimremixcompetitienl http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc See you, and hopefully more people, next Friday.
  3. I hope that the new Robot Master Battle and other contest aren't so popular that nobody enters PRC. There's enough time to mix this song.
  4. Sounds interesting. I'll follow this. There can always be a second competition (looking at the other mixers who wanted to participate). I hope that all remixers can finish in time and that nobody drops out after a round like what happened with OCR Idol to a lot of mixers.
  5. Extended with one day The People's Remix Competition 161 PRCv7-05 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Have a good and nice 2010 PRC160 was a typical year-end PRC. Last year many songs appeared, but in most cases everyone is busy with Christmas etc. S|r Nuts found some time and made a nice song. Because of that he was the one to select the new source for the first PRC of 2010. PRC Classic of the two weeks The classic of this round is PRC76. This PRC won't be remembered by the voting stage even though five remixers entered the contest. The source was Decap Attack – Inventory (Genesis). Sir NutS entered and won (like last PRC). He received more points as Darth Gourry, he was voted second but still he got the last place wooden spoon (huh). The reason: Nasenmann, Nineko and Sologamer submitted a song which wasn't following the rules (MIDI-rip), these three where disqualified. It was the only time it happened in PRC till now. Sir NutS song was called Obnoxious Land of the Normal. This rounds source This round, Sir NutS has selected the source. Flashback (GEN) - Journal son MIDI ThaSauce link It's flashback. I don't know tha game and have never heard of it. I don't know what kind of a game it could be, but it's a Genesis game and has a song in it called Journal. That song wants remixes and hopes that you can do one this week. Two OC Remixers already, one from 2007 and one from 2003. So why not another in 2010. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by MONDAY January 11th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.
  6. The winner of PRC160 is S|r Nuts with x points It looks like christmas takes everyone busy, like most years (or the source is just to dificult). I don't think extending again will help, I also get in trouble with the planning then. This means that S|r Nuts may select the next source. S|r Nuts, send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file if you can) by PM before next Friday, January 1st at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://bambombim.googlepages.com/bambombimremixcompetitienl http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc See you next year (don't hurt yourself with fireworks).
  7. I'll extend the deadline with one day. Maybe I'll try to get something in by myself tomorrow.
  8. Welcome to A New Season from PRC The People's Remix Competition 160 PRCv7-04 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC159 is over. In the last round three remixers submitted a song. All of them where very good and the votes wheren't all the same. At the end, the fact that Showroom Dummy has a vote that counts twice makes the difference, otherwhise we would have three sources. That didn't happen (of course it's not only that vote which decided), so Divinewrath was the only one who selected a source for PRC160. PRC Classic of the two weeks The classic of this round is PRC110. This PRC happened exactly two years ago (and that's the reason why I selected it). It wasn't the biggest PRC ever, only two remixers entered. Hylian Lemon and Chickenwarlord challenged against each other in a PRC which had Castlevania DoS - Village as source. Hylian Lemon received 7 points, Chickenwarlord 5. Hylian Lemon's song was called Lacking Light. You can check the details at ThaSauce. This rounds source This round, Dinewrath has selected the source. Paladin's Quest (SNES) - Lennus Battle MIDI ThaSauce link It's not Castlevania, but Paladin's Quest. This game doesn't have a PRC history, so it's good to see this game. I don't know the game, but I've read it's a RPG game for the Super Nintendo. Not even an OC Remix has been submitted till today. This is a very remix-unpopulair game. PRC is created to do something with that. You have one day extra to finish the song. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by MONDAY December 28th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.
  9. That's right. You may enter a Bonus Mix, but that mix can't win the round. I'll set up the new round now.
  10. Send a PM to me with the Source and MID. Since it's Saturday already, you may also post the MID in this thread.
  11. Divine Wrath, don't forgot to send the source. You still have some 'time' of course (I don't know how much exactly). The sooner I have it, the faster I can start #160.
  12. It's results time. What a thriller. Three songs and eight votes. It turned out that not all eight voters voted for the same song, not even close to a default win. All Remixers voted and Showroom Dummy did that as well. His double vote was very important for the results. Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 8 Maximum Score - 27 Minimum Score - 11 (with voting) Jerry Terry received 18 points, usually that's enough to not be the last, but this time 18 points are only enough to win the last place wooden spoon. DjMokram scored only one point more, his 19 points are good enough for second place. And the winner of PRC159 is Divinewrath with 20 points! Congratulations Divinewrath, you received the most points. Both JerryTerry and DjMokram weren't far off. One changed vote could reverse the results. Do you see what happened when Showroom Dummy's vote didn't count twice. Then all remixers tied (and made PRC160 a three songs PRC). That didn't happen. Divinewrath, you may select the source for PRC160. Send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file if you can) by PM before next Friday, December 18th at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. PRC160 will be the last PRC from 2009. You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://bambombim.googlepages.com/bambombimremixcompetitienl http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc See you next Friday.
  13. Welcome to the voting stage The deadline has passed, you can't submit a song anymore. If you want to add a Bonus Track, just post it in this thread. It was Mega Man this round, it's one of the most popular games. Mega Man brought PRC some Mega Rounds before. In this PRC three songs appeared. JerryTerry submitted his song very fast. In the last days Divinewrath and DjMokram also where able to bring a song in. The mixing stage is over. To vote, you should do the following: - Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries - Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen - Fill in the rank of the entries from first to third. - State a reasoning for it. Participants can't vote for themself, but they receive an added first place if they vote. They only have to send their top 2. The winner from the last round, Showroom Dummy, has a vote that counts twice. You have until NEXT Tuesday, December 15th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time to vote, check my signature in the first post or simply the ThaSauce page for the exact time you have. The winner will get to choose the source tune for PRC160 which is going to start Friday. That round will be the last PRC from 2009. The songs: JerryTerry - Introducing Megaman Divinewrath - Streamrolled in 20XX DjMokram - Blue Flicker of Hope
  14. Congrats OCR. I almost can't believe this site is already so long around. Let's go for 100 years too.
  15. I'll try to get something in myself too (I don't know I'm able to do that). I hope at least someone is working on a mix (it's silence in the topic).
  16. It's taking long before the new round starts (CMC31 is completed a few weeks ago), but I'm sure Abadoss starts it fast. There's also the PRC Competition, PRC159 has Mega Man 7 - Intro as source. http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26586 http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC159
  17. Welcome to A New Season from PRC The People's Remix Competition 159 PRCv7-03 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Round 159 is already there. Last round, two sources where selected by Diotrans and OneUp and three remixers decided to remix the source from OneUp (Lifeforce). Obtuse started his PRC carreer and Showroom Dummy and Just64helpin also entered. In the beginning from the voting stage Obtuse received the most votes, but at the end Showroom Dummy's song was voted the best. Just64helpin wasn't far off, but still ends third. Showroom Dummy has decided his source. PRC Classic of the two weeks The classic of this round is PRC116. For me personal, it was the first PRC I ended and (of course) I ended last. The source was Mega Man 7 - Cloud Man's theme, selected by PRC115's winner S|r Nuts. It was a nice source and 5 remixers entered the contest. Chickenwarlord claimed the fourth place. Setokaibarocket and V_Gasm entered as well and tied for second place. The winner was OneUp, with a song called MegaMegaMix. You can check the details at ThaSauce. This rounds source This round, Showroom Dummy has selected the source. Mega Man 7 (SNES) - Intro Stage MIDI ThaSauce link After reading the Classic, it's not strange that the source is from a Megaman Game. Mega Man appeared more times in PRC. The first anniversary (the most popular PRC till now) was Shade Man (also from Mega Man 7), also PRC47 (Mega Man 4 - Intro Stage 2), PRC54 (Mega Man Zero 3 - Trail on Powdery Snow), PRC69 (Mega Man 6 - Tomahawk Man) where also Mega Man rounds. It's one of the most popular games. For this song (Mega Man 7 - Intro Stage), I don't remember much remixes, only the remix from S|r Nuts (Introduction to Heaven) is still known by me (I even have that Vgmix classic). GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by SUNDAY December 13th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. . 18. It's results time. The first round with competition is over. With 3 songs and 5 voters, you can say this is a 'normal' PRC round. None of the remixers decided to not claim the 3 bonus points, which is a good thing. Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 5 Maximum Score - 15 Minimum Score - 7 (with voting) Just64helpin received 9 points, more as the minimum 7, but still he has to take the last place wooden spoon. Obtuse starts his first PRC with a good second place with 11 points. And the winner of PRC158 is Showroom Dummy with 13 points! Congratulations Showroom Dummy, you are voted up to the first place. Obtuse was very close, and Just64helpin wasn't far off. Still, your song received the most points. Showroom Dummy, you may select the source for PRC159. Send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file if you can) by PM before next Friday, December 4th at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. PRC159 could start a little later, but I try to have it started next Friday. The winner of PRC157 may select a source as well. You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://bambombim.googlepages.com/bambombimremixcompetitienl http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc
  19. I believe you forgot the third place (according to the comment you gave, it's a little mistake). I'll add that point myself, since you can't edit your vote.
  20. Remember, read the rules. It's not allowed for remixers to vote for yourself I edited the scores for the vote from Obtuse. At the end it doesn't matter much (only one plus point for second place), but still it's not allowed. Remember that next time.
  21. Welcome to the voting stage The deadline has passed, you can't submit a song anymore. If you want to add a Bonus Track, just post it in this thread. With two sources, the remixers could remix which source they like the best. Showroom Dummy was the first to submit a song. Obtuse starts his PRC carreer and also Just64helpin submitted a remix. All of them decided to remix the Lifeforce source. It's time to vote. Participants are encouraged tot vote because they receive an added first place. They aren't allowed to vote for themselve. As winners from the last two PRCs, both Diotrans and OneUp have a vote that counts twice. The mixing stage is over. To vote, you should do the following: - Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries - Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen - Fill in the rank of the entries from first to third. - State a reasoning for it. You have until NEXT Tuesday, December 1st at 10:59 am ThaSauce time to vote, check my signature in the first post or simply the ThaSauce page for the exact time you have. The winner will get to choose the source tune for PRC159 which is going to start Friday. The songs: Showroom Dummy - Squared Black Hole Obtuse - Distant Galaxy Just64helpin - Forced Perspective
  22. Welcome to A New Season from PRC The People's Remix Competition 158 PRCv7-02 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! The songs: Showroom Dummy - Squared Black Hole Obtuse - Distant Galaxy Just64helpin - Forced Perspective After the first slow round, we have now more sources as entries in the last round. OneUp, as winner from PRC158, and Diotrans, winner from PRC156, both submitted a source. This means if you don't like one source, you can select the second one. Last round OneUp won by default (with a nice remix), now I want to see more competition with more entries. PRC Classic of the two weeks The classic of this round is PRC15. It's been a long time ago since Jeremy Robson won this round. The source was Mushroom Kingdom from Super Mario RPG. 6 Remixers submitted a song including one Bonus Mix from Azar. The Orchicalcon, one of the legends from PRC and ORC, took the last place. Chockster37 and Bladiator ended fourth and third. Reactor Zer0 entered that round as well, claiming second place. The victory was for Jeremy Robson wih The Mushroom Wedding. This rounds source This round, we have two sources. One from Diotrans and one from OneUp. Super Mario RPG (SNES) - Monstro Town AND Lifeforce (NES) - Stage 2 Source 1: Super Mario RPG MIDI Source 2: Lifeforce MIDI NSF ThaSauce link It's Super Mario RPG and Lifeforce. Super Mario RPG has been done before in PRC15 (like stated) and also recently in PRC154. Hylian Lemon was the winner from that round. Lifeforce didn't have a PRC history. Both sources look interesting. I'm sure you will like at least one of them. Of course it's allowed (and encouraged) to remix both sources in one song. It was a rule before. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by SUNDAY November 29th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. The winner of the previous contest can take part this time, but he/she must remix the other source (the one she/he didn''t select). Vote will only be doubled if he/she doesn't enter. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.
