i am so incredibly pumped for this game. got three computer orders specifically for this game already =)

75$ a person, and superjoe gets half a bed. unless we can find one more person who wants to be in the overflow hotel and will drink elsewhere.

a note, doug - unless you've got a reason to install more than one game at a time, don't bother getting larger than a 20gb HDD, or at largest a 60gb HDD. i never had a use for my 120gb (or my 250gb) drives, even with tons of stuff left on there, until i got into using homebrew stuff. also, wired controllers work with a PC =) and represent a pretty darn good gamepad for Windows, all told.

OCR Secret Santa - Gift giving time!

strader, you regifted the art books i gave you? seriously? edit: also, i'm still waiting on my santa gift =( i hope it comes before i leave town on thursday! if not, i'll hopefully get it before the end of the year. -
not a bad idea. it's theoretically possible to flood an entire building with one water source block - meaning that you could easily flood a castle when you leave, and then un-flood it when you come back.

thanks for the awesome writeup, mirby, for the whole album =) just a point - this was actually recorded live, by eleven saxophones. SSSSAATTTBB, if you want to know the instrumentation. it might not necessarily sound that way, but i worked my ass off to make the recording as realistic as possible - and as close to the original New York Counterpoint, written for eight soprano clarinets and three bass clarinets, which have way more dynamic contrast available to their instruments than saxes do. edit: huh? do you mean 19, or are you counting two out?

Looking to buy a new workstation...

not all of OCZ's psus are bad. their stealthxstream 2 psu got a golden award from hardwaresecrets (easily the best review site on the net), and in total have five bronze or higher awards in the last ten months at hardwaresecrets. they're still making good stuff - you just have to be selective. the older stealthxstream models were pretty bad, for sure =) but the modxstream, z series, and the new SXS II psus are good. i'd take seasonic or corsair's high-efficiency models before them, but they're good on a budget. same as antec. -

you don't want someone to build it for you? *tear* this build actually isn't that bad, all in all - an i7-870 is what i'm looking at when i upgrade, and the amount of ram isn't bad, and the gfx card isn't bad. you're paying a premium for the "support" that dell offers, however - particularly since dell's support is easily the worst in the business by a large margin. the biggest issue about big-box builders is simply what they don't tell you. what kind of hard drive is in there? it's not a western digital caviar black, not at that price, and that means that the mean time before failure (MTBF) and warranty is likely under three years - possibly even one, if it's a spinpoint or seagate xt. what kind of motherboard? it's not a gigabyte, asus, or evga, or even a biostar or asrock, and that means that your system is going to pull more power thanks to crappy capacitors, run slower thanks to poor connectivity between the main bridge components, and be less stable due to low-quality build materials. what power supply is it? what efficiency? it's not a silverstone, antec, seasonic, corsair, or ocz psu, which means it's probably not japanese caps, probably doesn't have proper cooling on the system, and probably has a MTBF under three years. it likely has a low efficiency, too - lower efficiency costs more in the long run to run - by a lot - as well as increasing the heat in your case due to waste energy, reducing the life of your psu, and feeding your system power that's less regulated with more ripple and distortion than in other systems. what kind of ram is that? it's likely cut-rate kingston, with no heat spreader and random timings, meaning that it's not as stable, it'll die much faster (i've had kingston chips die in six months before on a load-bearing machine), and since memory relies on having matched sets to get good performance and stability, you won't be able to replace it and get dual or quad channel, either. that case has virtually no cooling, too, meaning that your -870 - a chip that requires 95w of heat to be shipped off chip, if i remember correctly - will have little to no reinforcement for the stock cooling it has. this'll result in higher temperatures, reduced longevity, and shorter times of load before a bluescreen or reduced efficiency. ...shall i keep going? at least contact me for an estimate, man =) i bet i can soothe your worries in no time flat. if nothing else, i can help you figure out what you need for your build. the above pick seems kind of random - are you doing gaming, or music, or a little of both, or what? it's kind of an all-around pick - you could get a lot better deals by focusing on what you want, i think. -
those three tracks are either too old (lucidic's computer got run over by a car before the wav was rendered, villa's files got stolen with my computer 2007) or weren't recorded in wav (miku's track). stuff like this happens with really old tracks. it's unfortunate, but at least we got all but one primary track in lossless =)

my definition of midirip + groovebias is undoubtably different than yours, considering three of my rejections were note-for-note transcriptions that got the "too liberal" nod. and yes, i was talking projects as in OCRA-0001 through 0019, not necessarily recent projects only. i thought ff4 did a good job, particularly, of avoiding that issue. but let's not get off track thanks so far for all the positive feedback, folks =) it's great to hear that people are really enjoying the concept of this album. don't forget that there's a listening party coming up on sunday!
