  1. tell him that MMX got rejected due to genre bias and see what he says. say that the album needed more disco rock and less thrash.
  2. fixed it for ya
  3. the reason most people don't post wips is because any track, no matter how awesome, ages a little bit after listening to it a few times. something brand new will always sound a little shinier than one you've heard before. it may not age as well, but it's the initial impression that counts. so you probably don't want to post WIPs.
  4. posted mixes don't really count, man. i've just been doing this longer than you. of all my mixes, i think one's made it through the panel, maybe? the rest have been DPs, and all of them either had major issues that got overlooked, or i had help on them. do a search for mephisto or prophetik in the judges decisions forum, and tell me that i haven't had trouble getting posted when i don't get DP'd now, some of them got rejected for ridiculous reasons, sure (i was told one was too far from the source when it was the exact same notes as the original, no changes, slowed down a bit), but that doesn't mean that those songs didn't all have a bunch of production or mastering issues as well. the key is to always keep getting better, no matter what. you don't want to look back in a few months and think, "you know, i don't think i can top that". you always want to be able to look back and say, "i wonder if i change this, how much better it'll sound".
  5. shucks, you're going to make me feel bad. i will likely do what i did last time, which is listen to the tracks for two days straight and pound it out in like four hours. at least, i better - i'm out of town from wednesday to saturday. don't want to run out of time!
  6. actually, like i said earlier, you can get the boxed version with a key that allows you to get lifetime free updates. which is what i've got.
  7. academic version = normal box, cheaper.
  8. i got fired a few days before my birthday, too, so i know what it feels like. liberating. like the first time you air dried yourself after a shower. uh
  9. it's not about tech, people. it's about ideas. some of the best stuff i've heard came from fl 3.56 on a 1.8ghz p4. does tech make it easier? sure. goodness knows i spend money on it. but all the money in the world can't buy a good beat, or an interesting adaptation. as for a new computer... =D send me a pm with what you're looking for.
  10. yep. fl studio's demo is the full thing - you'll just be downloading and running a regkey that takes about four seconds through your account page on the fl studio website. you install the demo, you run the regkey, you make music. easy as pie. i have the boxed edition (of FL 5 ) and it came with a text key to give me lifetime updates. so i don't know either way. i got mine academic, as well, through academic superstore, in...2005? don't remember.
  11. the books blow the series to pieces, even though the rendition is excellent (the Imp is particularly well done, i think). definitely worth a read.
  12. naw, i'm just busting. no biggie. like i said originally, i don't know any of the music anyways, so it's a learning experience. i learn about games from their music usually =) so, according to this song, MM7 is pc shovelware preloaded on dell all-in-one computers. so there. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT PORNO SOUNDS LIKE
  13. cheery? try, like, bubble-gum-poppy. how the heck am i supposed to rock out to a giant penis with arms? what's your superpower, spring man? I GET LONGER. what a douche
  14. i hope your birthday is full of flaming cats and rainclouds. just kidding i kinda think you're cute
  15. baaaallls. i should really have listened to these ahead of time. spring man is definitely out-of-ideas man, as someone on youtube called him.
  16. i appreciate you downloading this stuff! as noted on the website, those tracks are simply too old, and don't have lossless versions. lucidic's computer got run over by a car, villa's computer was stolen, inception...should have a lossless version, but it's a bonus track so whatever, and eagle tower, the mixer moved so he didn't have access to a piano.
  17. so is the first post updated, then?
  18. note the word used. i got it from someone else. wolfmizu, no, there isn't. this is the next best thing - you can use the kontakt vsti plugin in fl studio.
  19. who the hell is the prophetik of mephisto, anyways?
  20. just an fyi, wolf, i picked up gofriller cello a while back for uber cheap in a sale, and it's actually pretty darn good. if you can get it for cheap - i think i paid 60$ used? - it's not bad at all. uses kontakt, just plug and chug.
  21. lenovo computers are spectacularly durable. when i worked for microsoft, internal employees almost exclusively used the T and X series. it was rare to find anyone using anything else unless it was a hand-me-down. there's a video of a guy pouring water onto the keypad while the computer's running. no worries.
  22. hey, guys. most of you who know me know that i like eve online a lot. a real lot. enough that i don't really do much of anything else when i'm home, except play that game. so i'm selling my account. it's got a month left. it has roughly 24m SP - which is around two and a half years of skill point training - and can fly all the major combat ships in the game except for carriers. i can give you more information in PMs if you'd like. i'll include my alt for free, who is a great scanning and salvaging character in her own right. the account has roughly 1.7b ISK (in-game currency) available to it, which is enough to pay for around five months of subscription using the PLEX (which is an in-game item that redeems for a month of game time on your account). i'll entertain any reasonable offer, and i'm open for trades. i sold my old Guild Wars account for the same reason - i think to kanthos or his brother? - so i've done this before. i'll just give you the account info, and that's that. let me know =)
