  1. i was wondering if someone would point out taucer's magical madrigalic hair =)
  2. oh baby. hey, a posibot sighting! i didn't know bots did personal messages. i haven't heard/read him speak since applebees last year when i ate everyone's used food because i didn't have enough for a full meal myself.
  3. oh man, this is really funny. i realize you're just learning this stuff, so i'm not going to knock you. if i remember correctly, halo's 'monk' theme was based on a dorian scale, which means it's got a lowered third and seventh from the major scale in the same key. or, a better way to put it would be to say that it starts on the second note of the scale and follows that key (modes are funny). or, in c, it's C, D, eb, F, G, A, bb, C. edit: yo raptor, i should point out that i'm helping this dude to get some stuff ready. like, i'm on his project boards, doing his muzaks.
  4. edit this plz, pixie you make it sound like you need beer goggles or something. i'll bring it then (if she lets me!) dunno if you'll have a ton of time to peruse it, but we'll see.
  5. i love how he trashes mmo games in this one.
  6. NOTHATSMEHOSHITS HITTHATALLNITELONG edit: if i left that together, it says ' no that's me hoshit shit that all night long'. LOL!
  7. i used that name in the song lyrics. it's not that i couldn't think of a better title, it's that THAT is the name, regardless of the ost file's name.
  8. my part in this project is officially diminished, possibly to nothing: my preamp died before i could record, and now i can't record anything with my nice condenser mike (which was the only one worth using that i own anyways). i'll still try to finish, but i don't know when i'll have the chance =( it sucks because i was going to do something on tweek's track too.
  9. in before lock congrats, you two! can't wait to see you both at mag! jill, this may sound a bit gay but do you want to see my wedding album? it's all artsy and i think you might get some ideas for photographers from it =)
  10. wait, was yahtzee somewhere else before he was here? [huddles in corner awaiting flames] because i've never seen him before. this is the first nerd show i've ever watched.
  11. this actually looks really funny.
  12. flstudio doesn't allow you to save your work, but you can output to midi...so, if you don't mind having to reload everything each time, you can pull it off. just save the money and get fl. they've got a deal through academic superstore for a lower price if you're in college.
  13. bit value is a way for chip producers to get more money from audiophiles. you don't need anything over 24-bit. the only sound card i've ever owned was the soundblaster live! 24-bit external card. it's a great card, but it's like three years old. it works well as long as you don't uninstall it or unplug it while it's active. beyond that, there isn't really any sound card that's worth the money for under fifty bucks. if you just want the plug in front, get a media dashboard that'll fit in your front 3.5 bay, like this. it takes a bit of fooling around to get the cords to fit, but it works pretty well.
  14. hey radical dreamer, if you wanted to start a blog and catalog all the stories we're getting in this thread so far, that'd be awesome. just a wordpress thing, maybe? and as we get artwork and music to go with it, we can expand on it. also, i think that this can expand beyond me as the musician - if you want to get a particuar artist or musician who's expressed interest in being a part of this, go right ahead and get going. i'll link finished stuff in the first post.
  15. lol, there's all sorts of stuff that's awesome so far coming out of this. authors, pm me with ideas for the musical side of this deal - like, what you were hearing when you penned (typed, i know) your ideas. and lets all try to find artists!
  16. this might actually be the route you want to take, based on what you're saying. i know you mentioned wanting to be away from cs for a while, but if you want to do theoretical stuff, the collegiate setting is the way to do it. same with music, same with writing, same with everything that hasn't already happened (like history). the collegiate setting - particularly smaller universities or REALLY large ones - is the best place to do theoretical analysis and research-based studies. hell, if you're any good, you could probably get a grant to do it, as well.
  17. the boxes themselves are bulky, though, when you get to 22" monitors.
  18. ah, how do i get sucked into all of these people's games? pm'd.
  19. hey, that's pretty solid stuff. i'll see if i can come up with inspiration for it. any artists want to take a shot at it?
