  1. according to standard library practice, 'the' doesn't count as a T. in fact, it generally is disregarded in general. just fyi.
  2. you just are using your computer while its folding. mine was 5000 too, but it only ran when i wasn't using the computer and it was done in about two days. of course, you probably don't have as good of a computer as mine is, either, which doesn't help.
  3. as long as you buy an OS through me or through a retail service, i do the OCing, testing, burn-in, and system optimization for people. i know quite about optimizing setups for DAWs, as well, so tweaking systems for DAW usage is definitely something i can do.
  4. live-a-live? never played it. sounds like a good strong chord progression, though, i should be able to do something nice with this one. any suggestions as to what exactly i should do with it? edit: hosnap, yoko? now i'm under the gun =( his stuff is fantastic! edit two: you spelled phoenix wrong in the RTS thing. edit three: just curious, were there extra songs left over after the initial roll?
  5. dude i so deserve it more, especially after uploading my 7.5 minute mp3 for the ff7 compo way back when on dialup after 13 hours of recording and arranging on the last day.
  6. best way to stay current is doing, after all. i'll contact you in a bit, griffith.
  7. this is a permenant service offer, so - yeah, i will be.
  8. i ship, too, you know. i've already gotten five people asking about the possibility of me getting them a box. by all means, keep it coming!
  9. i love my c2d...i recommend that everyone get one.
  10. hey zach! long time no see! i despise btx. the whole point was for the extreme heat issues that mobos were suffering as a result of the pentium 4 chip, and now that the c2d's are so much more popular there's just no need for a single-core chip like that anymore. crappy buss speeds, too - you pay the same cost for a socket 775 3.0ghz at 800mhz that you do for a c2d at 2.4ghz, but with a 1033 buss. almost the same speed, and the c2d has two cores to the p4's 1. ifrit, contact me at some point. we might be able to work something out =)
  11. whenever you're both up for it, contact me. e-samurai, don't forget that i'm within a half hour of niagara falls. is that close to you?
  12. sounds good to me. @nsamus - i've built something in the range of 30 computers or so, from a few hundred dollars to one quad-core, 8gigs of ram beast that was well into $3k once dealt with monitors and stuff. THAT one was fun =) too bad i only had it for a few hours to play with (i mean, test).
  13. define 24/7 =) edit - i should point out that this is almost a selling feature for my computers. you'll have my cell phone number by the end of this, and so as a result you basically get continuous tech support on everything that i install. some people really like that =)
  14. actually, when you look at the whole of ocr, you'd find that most people here don't know enough about the hardware side of computers to select and install the best components for their system. or, they knew at one point and don't know about some of the more modern components and the special stuff you need to worry about. and yeah, i can probably finagle a decent deal on parts. i have two friends who work both in electronics - one at a custom computer shop (he gets 15% off on parts) and one with the agency that sells the stuff seized through a bunch of bank and police seizures. @ga jedi knight - look me up when you start having problems. we might be able to save some of the hardware (optical drives, hard drives, etc) for your new machine.
  15. might as well update this. i build computers for pretty cheap. i've sold systems to a lot of OCR folks (like, 40+ at this point). i do a lot with specialized hardware. i also charge next to nothing for my services - just 10% of the cost of the parts, plus 50$. this means that for a monster system with 1500$ of hardware under the hood - which might cost $3k or more at a boutique builder - only costs about 1700$ for me to select parts, build it, and test it. that's a killer deal. if you've got questions or just want a quote, please let me know. i have no problem just talking hardware with you if that's all you've got the time for. i don't charge for advice =) pretty much i just like playing with new hardware, and this gives me an opportunity to do that. i also usually have used parts for sale if you want to lower your price further. feel free to drop me a line to get some info about what i'm selling at any given time.
  16. zircon helped me out with a mix a while back that then got accepted. heck, there's always people available for assistance with a mix, just check the profiles under 'composition and production skills'.
  17. note that there's a key change or two in there, you'll have to figure them out yourself. that also doesn't count the chords for the bridge...but once you're in the feel of it you'll be able to do more with figuring out those sections.
