  1. hah. that'll certainly be interesting. dunno, it's worth a shot at least.
  2. da and avaris sitting in a box k-i-s-s-i-n-ox edit - wait, you're supposed to be upside down in the box. what are you on? the mask, or shaun?
  3. if those two aren't done within a month or two, i'll write something for them. i just want this project to get moving. btw, i've already redone my mix. i'm fooling a bit with some advanced issues involving TURN YOUR DAMNED MIX DOWN and NOW MAKE IT LOUDER, and as soon as i've got them done i'll be all done.
  4. oa says that the forums have some sort of virus that can only be cured by DA recording herself singing an Hb for 12364716238974620987364 beats upside down in a box while clutching a scuba mask, a bottle of Genny Light, and avaris.
  5. he was online the other day for something, i saw a post. i promise.
  6. yo, i'm totally going to give this a shot. i suck at techno (as fishy knows) but i think i'm gonna see if i can do something vocally with it as well.
  7. like, if they're two different types of ram, you plug them in, and boot up. what happens?
  8. last question regarding ram. i've got one stick of ddr2 533 ram (pc2 4200) with heat spreader. if i want to buy another stick of ram, does it have to be the same thing exactly? or, can i just get another stick of ddr2 533 4200 ram, probably with heat spreader, but by another manufacturer? and, for that matter, what happens if they aren't the same when i plug them in?
  9. got rejected on my mix. i'm planning on resubbing, though, so i'll post it when it's done again.
  10. i generally donate a ton of time over the christmas and thanksgiving seasons at local area hospitals and nursing homes, playing in the general areas and stuff like that. the people at those places rarely see anyone other than their doctors and nurses, and maybe a family member once and a while. it's a really fun time just playing random tunes on piano, guitar, sax, or whatever i happen to have around to use. the people are all really appreciative, too.
  11. I've been in this same situation - almost got hit by a drunk driver who crossed several lanes of traffic to be in my lane at 60 mph driving towards me. they went on to kill four out of a family of five (only the 6-month-old baby survived). it's incredibly shaking to realize that our life on this earth is a tenuous grip on this half of reality at best, and it changes your perspective on how you approach things. i don't drink, either (props, Injin), but if i'm killed by a drunk, i'm still dead. it drives me nuts to see people on the news talk about a drunk driver and say something like 'but he was such a good person!' a good person is someone who can control their alcohol intake to make sure that something like that DOESN'T happen. i have no sympathy for drunks in any form, but those that drive while drunk are the equivalent of women who leave their babies in hot cars. my fiancee is the best thing that's ever happened to me. she's the reason that i get up in the morning and go to school and go to my job and all that. she was almost killed when she was twelve by a drunk careening into her mom's van while they were waiting to pull out of their driveway. the drunk was fine, linnea and her mom and brother had to go to the hospital on a backboard because of severe whiplash when their van rolled. it was ten in the morning, and the drunk was just going home from the local watering hole. situations like that make me really like the new apparatus that has been tested lately where you can't start your car until you breathe into a breathalyser. it'd be a real life-saver in a lot of situations. it doesn't help that so many of the people with licenses on the road are atrocious at driving. people use the time in their cars to put on makeup, talk on the phone, listen to the radio, eat food, shave, dry their hair, read...they forget that they're traveling in a two-ton vehicle going like sixty miles an hour. so frustrating.
  12. every little judge-o comes with an enormous bling NO. they're like alphabits but they continually reform themselves into the words "NO, plz resub"
  13. i don't want to worry about overclocking just becuase i'm worried about cooling and the like - i don't have the cash to replace everything when it melts down. the mobo ain't as bad as you all think it is. for the cost (part of a barebones, it was like thirty dollars all told) it's a bitch of a board, and i've never had problems with it. it's no asus maximus or something, but it's solid. i think i'm going to get the ram anyways. newegg seems to have deals constantly where the cost of two 1-gig sticks is around 50 bucks...or, i could buy another stick off my buddy for like ten dollars used. but the processer is what i'm thinking about replacing heavily. i can sell my celeron to someone else for not too much money. another question: how much does overall hard drive space affect speed? particularly that the drive with windows on it is mostly full...that's where the virt-mem is too. will that affect it, as well? thanks for all the research you guys are doing for me =)
  14. i can bring a zillion (aka like four or five) dynamic audiotechnica mikes, but they're only to be used when i'm there.
  15. hawt =) it's more just i don't want to spend a lot doing the upgrade. since ram's so dang cheap i might just get that anyways, but i heard that core 2's are under a hundred for the lower models...would one of those work?
  16. after a decent amount of deliberation, i'm removing my tracks from this project and subbing them. i've sat on my first track since almost two years ago, and the track with prizm/fishy for over a year...and i simply haven't seen any progress happening on ANYONE's part, particularly the project coordinator's part. sorry, guys, but i'm getting sick of just sitting around. if you guys ever finish, more power to you...but i don't ever see that happening. i mean, aeth never even bothered to do an arrangement, and said quite plainly that he didn't intend to anytime soon even back when people were actively working on this one. have fun. if you ever finish, i'll download. other than that, peace out.
  17. i'm currently running this mobo, this cpu, and a gig of ram (ddr2 400 w/ heatspreader, i believe, i'll have the real name in a bit) in my shuttle-case homebuilt desktop that i've got. geoforce 7600gs (256mb ram built in), external 24-bit soundcard, lite-on dvd-rw, rosewill 450-watt power supply, two fans. good temp control - i don't EVER get above 39 degrees celsius for internal temp, 55 degrees celsius gpu...don't know what the cpu temp is. generally runs an internal case temp of around 30, and gpu around 48) i want my computer to run faster. here's the catch. i need to know what kind of processor would run faster in my computer than the cpu i've already got. i know that celeron cpus tend to run slower than other processers, but it's a 3.46 ghz processor...so, what would be 'faster'? the mobo will handle up to a quad-core, but i want a processor that's relatively cheap (under 100$ preferably, 150$ max). i run two internal drives (80, 160) and one external (250), 490 gigs total, with around 90% of that full, spread out over four drives total (160=90+70). would it be more cost-effective to upgrade ram or cpu? i know the bus on the cpu i've got is really slow, as well, which is probably half the problem, but it has serious problems with higher-end audio and video work - aka muzaking and some nicer games. i'm even having trouble running The Witcher on the absolute lowest video settings a bit. more ram doesn't cost much, comparatively speaking, but i don't want a bandaid - i want to fix the problem with it being so dang slow. help? edit - just to brag, it cost 490$ total to build this computer, INCLUDING shipping for the parts =) the dvd drive, monitor, video card, and speakers (logitech 2.1 system, pretty nice altogether) were gifts, which helped, but still...
  18. rd is next - release is planned for magfest. all that's left is two songs which will be done within two weeks, and the last of the website stuff.
  19. it's actually a really different experience from any game i've played to this point. it feels a bit like an mmorpg (in a good way), but there's a lot of deeper meaning behind everything you do. it's so good. and, they're starting to translate the book into english, too. if you're into reading the book and want to buy the game, amazon's got a deal to get both for a little over 50$.
  20. who else is playing this game? i think it's fantastic.
  21. bullshit i call sax cause i called sax =) or i'll sing. so, ToN, OA, me, mustin...who else plays sax?
