Advance Wars: Dual Strike - Midnight Skirmish
prophetik music replied to Theory of N's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
i'm really diggin this, man. i'd say that i don't like the lead that comes in before and after the vibes - it's a little too nasally for my tastes. when the vibes play, there's hardly anything else going on. there needs to be something carrying the harmonic material in the back. it's too empty. that choir in the back is terrible. use something else. a standard pad would be good. yeah, love the organ. that's cool. the whole mix sounds confused. there isn't anything that persists for more than fifteen seconds than the beats and that synth that i don't like. i'd like to hear more than eight-bar phrases once and a while. it's just so strictly "8 bars then lets do something else i'm bored" that it doesn't give us a sound to focus on, and that's bad. this is a cool mix, but it needs to sound more like one cohesive unit and less like a bunch of cool midis thrown together. keep working on it. -
available for saxophone (any), band instruments, bass guitar, sequencing, and male vocals. if you need a demo, contact me (i don't disappoint, don't worry). if no one's taken one of these by christmastime, i might be convinced to do one of them. we'll see how time works out (i've got music needed for tetrisphere, two kinda secret project, a personal album, pokemon, and radical dreamers). if you want to see me do a track, pm me. that said, how many tracks are completed for this project?

oh gawd, i forgot about this project. i never thought it'd ever make it, but i guess it's thriving for now. want to reiterate that i'm available to do sax, bass, and male vocals. if no one's picked up another track anytime soon, i'll see if i can throw something together. two questions. do we have an ost link or midis so i can work with anything? and, can someone pm me the website link again? i registered, but i don't know if i still have an account anymore. it's been over a year.

i recorded an arrangement (originally recorded by Gas House Gang) of O Come, O Come Emmanuel, and i'll submit that to this project. i'm also working on another couple of songs that i'll submit.

don't we email poinko when we need something? stevo bortz is working on the site, and you can reach him at stevosoangry at gmail dot com. or whatever the pkmn site lists his email address or aim address as.

Antigravity remix contest! *WINNERS ANNOUNCED*

yeah, i'm wrecked now. -
SHUT UP no, seriously, VI is SO much fun to play. my biggest issue was a glitch in the PS1 port of the game where you can technically have five party members besides your guest in your party at any one time, which gets screwed up when the game maps a bunch of sprites on your last location preventing NPCs from completing a cutscene. it was wierd, but the game itself is so cool to play, it's got a great storyline, it's got the best soundtrack of all of the ff games besides maybe seven and twelve (personal opinion, don't trash me), and it's got the best combination of graphics and gameplay for the pre-ps games.

prophetik music replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
great stuff, TO, i really enjoy it. i love the stuttered synths throughout most of the mix. too bad we couldn't get this one on pkmn project, but oh well. at least we've got one or two mixes that are in the queue for that too. -

i'm arbitrarily declaring this project dead, basically because the coordinator just said clearly that he didn't care about the project. there's a point when saying that you have a real social life to maintain and saying how much cooler you are than everyone else becomes bullshit. i'm currently pursuing one of the most time-intensive majors possible, and am succeeding. i'm one of the best classical musicians to ever go through my school. i'm a good band teacher. i've got a fiancee, i have friends who i spend time with...and i had a mix done within two weeks of starting this project. quit spitting bullshit about how cool you are and how you're a BETTER FUCKING PERSON BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T SPEND THE TIME TO MIX A DAMNED MIX ON YOUR OWN FUCKING PROJECT THATS ABOUT THE GAME YOU THINK IS THE BEST FUCKING GAME EVER and just gtfo. no one wants that kind of attitude or cockiness. for christs sakes, i always thought you were an self-inflated bastard, but i never thought you'd admit it while being self-inflated and a bastard. -

done, with better instructions as to what to do. everyone else - av, da, fishy, taucer, oa, rk, you all need to record vox for that piece! doug, i'm going to take your old vocals and use something from that, so you're fine (unless you want to re-record, you don't have to). -
