  1. Even though I never submitted to OCR before, I've noticed that not all remixes get enough feedback in the WIP forum. Not that I'm blaming anyone here...it's just that there are some remixes which get attention and some that don't. That's the way it is with threads. So what should the ones which don't get attention do? Only thing is to resub based on the judges' comments.

You can ask around on IRC and the like, other remixing community boards, among your own peers, direct people to the WIP post, etc.. The point isn't to not resubmit. It's to not resubmit without taking time and making significant changes.

  2. Guess it's like the swastika, which, if memory serves, essentially was a symbol of "well being" before Nazi Germany perverted it into a hate symbol.

Yup. It was more or less from the Vedic-derived cultures and religions.

Also, looking at the info Arek posted, you might find that the Sephiroth Tree had stronger reference in Tales of the Abyss - specifically in terms of town names.

It's cute how people think that Square invented stuff like Ifrit, Undine, Masamune, Fenrir, Ragnarok, etc. and then get all up in arms when they see them used in other games.

Oh, and FF6 has an amazing soundtrack.

  3. Ahh, thanks. Guess it's sorta like our Boxing Day.

I dunno about that. Here, Boxing Day doesn't involve stores opening at one AM to a line-up half a block around while people leap over displays, trample others and get into fistfights so they can save five bucks on a children's toy.

  4. also, alternate costumes don't look to be very different from melee; all it is is different colors, judging from the screens

Pretty sure I've seen Pikachu with the hat in one of the E for All vids. I think Sonic's cuffs change a bit, too.

Hell, it could even be another aspect they're just hiding for the time being.

  5. The developers recommend playing with headphones, and I can see why. It's more... enclosing. Play it in the dark, with the door locked. That way the cat can't jump up on you when you're trying to explore a blood-smeared maternity ward. Fucking cat...

Haha. While not directly related, it reminds me of when I was getting my non-gamer friend into StarFox 64. She was so engrossed that when my dog poked her in the back with her nose, she screamed and half-threw the controller.

  6. Lvl 40, shy of 500 grains.

I might be missing something obvious here, but... how exactly does this work? I mean, what's the tradeoff here? Here, play this free little game, and we'll send rice off to starving people depending on your success. Why not just... give the damn rice away? Or does this count as clicking adspace?

  7. EDIT - ALSO, there are whispers that Jigglypuff is returning not as a playable, but as one of the pokémon you can summon from a pokéball. anyone have any information on this?

No, but I heard that Lucario of all things would be playable. Oh, rumourmill, whose hopes won't you crush?

  8. "Oh god, an inventive stage! Us SERIOUS players need flat, featureless ground! It's not like we can just disable the stages we don't want to use!"

If you COULD use the DS to draw your own features in, I believe a waaaahmbulance would be appropriate here.
