  1. I'll put you down, OmegaDonut, as a mirror(er) for now, and just send me the details later so I know who to send the file links to when the time comes. Thanks. ~.C.S.~
  2. Compyfox acted in self-defense, albeit much harsher than he should have. And yes, I agree with pixie that I probably didn't announce the "power shift" as prominently as I should have. But as per my post a few pages ago, http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=45588&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1257 (top post), I figured it was clear that I wasn't playing as large a role anymore. As for the specifications of what "powers" Compyfox has, his job is still audio engineer. I still make all the choices. I just think that considering his continued presence in the thread, and my sparse presence here, his decisions as far as appropriate conversation are slightly more up-to-snuff than mine. I might very well have ended up asking for the conversation to stop - who knows. But now that the boundaries are laid, and we only have a very very short time left until release, I think it's best we drop the subject. Bad choice on my part to sort of keep you all in the dark, but it's all whatever. I'm going to edit/delete some of the posts relating to this topic, if you all don't mind. Just to maintain a false sense of security in-house, you know. Like all the great leaders do. ~.C.S.~
  3. I hope it's not too late for ME to have a say in the matter. Pixie, while I agree that Compy is only on the project as an "audio engineer", I have stated before (earlier in this thread, I believe) that for the time being, Compy and Rexy and Eon_Blue are the people handling the majority of the work. I'm pretty much just sitting back and waiting for this whole thing to come back into my own realm of handling, a.k.a. the uploading, torrent-ing, etc. So if Compy feels the need to ask for someone to stay focused on the project, then that's not only his prerogative, that's his temporary right. No offense, but having read the last page and a half of banter, it certainly seems that the assault was brought on not by Compyfox's over-management, but your accusation of such. Compyfox, don't call the music on this project "shit". You're not the only important one around here, and just because you see your own role of being "sound bitch" as a necessary, perhaps even quintessential piece of the Chrono Symphonic puzzle, it doesn't mean you have the right to beat down on everyone else, even if provoked. That's not your job; that's not anyone's job. Keep the rants and the rage in PM form between the people involved. Do it the Navy way: publicly praise, privately punish. It's worked for hundreds of years, and it should keep working for us. Everyone else, I believe I should quote Officer Barbrady for emphasis: "Alright people, nothing to see here, just go back to your homes." ~.C.S.~
  4. Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut. I'd be glad to do a collab with you, Rexy. I'm not familiar with any of your work, unfortunately, but considering others' opinions of you I can assure myself it's good. The "deal" with Chrono Symphonic was over ellywu's pieces, not something I was doing...I'm always up for a collab with someone. Let's work something out later this week, eh? I'll PM you later. ~.C.S.~
  5. Thank you very much for putting yourself down, Tegeran. I'll get you on the list immediately. ~.C.S.~
  6. Are we going to have another writers' meeting or whatever? Tonight is very much free for me, so whatever you guys decide, I'll update myself a little later. TTYL/Ciao. ~.C.S.~
  7. Shou...it's Claado Shou...there's an "O" in there. But it's all whatever. Nice interview. You don't sound lame at all. In fact, I think you soundin' a-pretty nice. *insert Monty Python-esque French accent above* ~.C.S.~
  8. Yes, every song on the project was supposed to meet a specific time limit for that scene. Remember, there is a script for the movie; the general screenplay convention is 1 page of writing = 1 minute of screen time. So, depending on scene length, estimated times were created. Many songs were off by 15-30 seconds, but it's all good anyway. I'm not as picky now as I used to be. Also, Predetermination was rejected not only for its length but also because it doesn't suit an opening cinematic that well. Inciting Incident did that much better (in my opinion). ~.C.S.~
  9. Damn...my intarnet goes out for a little while and the thread gets swamped with posts. Good deal. Yeah, everything Compy and the others said. Bongo Bill, I will place you down as a mirror(er) immediately. ThanXX0rz. ~.C.S.~
  10. Yeah, 45 MB prolly won't cut it. Topic title changed to reflect needs. ~.C.S.~
  11. I'm online, just so you know. But I have to go to school tomorrow, so if we could do something before 10 EST tonight, that'd be best. Otherwise, I have to sleep. Sorry about the time difference and all. ~.C.S.~
  12. No...if ellywu2 doesn't show up, we use his MP3 files and not the WAV files Compyfox is hoping for. Seeing as how every song on the project is 100% complete, as per the front page, I don't understand what train of logic you followed to assume we would screw the rest of the songs. No offense, but that was a pretty un-enlightened remark. As for the release date, we have a timeframe in mind, but yet again, no exact date. Believe me, I'll be the first one to inform you when we know. I'm not keeping secrets, I promise. ~.C.S.~
  13. I'll let Compy worry about ellywu2....no point in all of us getting on his case if we can't even find him. As for what we do if he never appears, reproducing his music is at a slightly-below-zero probability of happening. No way we could do it in time, and his three songs are three of the best. Sorry. Also, for the lyrics, they will be added to the website, as well as on the CD art, and perhaps in other places, whatever Compy comes up with. At this point most of the micromanaging is between Compyfox, Rexy, and Eon_Blue on art and prep, but when that final run comes along, it'll be me, DJP, and StarZander getting the show running. And then release. And then a happier world, if only for the hour and a half of music they receive. ~.C.S.~
  14. In MP3 form, 116 MB for all 29 tracks. Of course, that's at different bitrates and all...I don't know what it would be at a constant higher bitrate, honestly. My guess is anywhere from 120-150 MB. ~.C.S.~
  15. Yup yup yup, lotsa hits. Good stuff. BTW, http://chrono.ocremix.org is now active, so earmark the sub-domain for the project's release. DO IT. ~.C.S.~
  16. Cool beenz. I likey, I likey. Also, just so you know, DJP has recently made the Chrono Symphonic sub-domain on OCR, and it forwards to the StarZander site, so... http://chrono.ocremix.org Check it out, though there's nothing new about it, 'cept the official sub-domain. Anyway. ~.C.S.~
  17. I know I said earlier that I would see what I could do with the Koholint source tune, and I did, and it's not working out. Sorry. After three separate attempts, I'm pretty sure that song isn't cut out for me. Or I'm not cut out for it. Or something equally clever. G'luck, though. ~.C.S.~
  18. Unfortunately, I was placed on my class' watchbill at the last second on Friday, and had to be in the school building from 10-12 last night. Since I'm on the East Coast, that meant I couldn't show up. And stupid me, I didn't even think about it until I saw the title thread and thought "Oh, shit." I really am sorry. If we can somehow do this again, I'll be sure to tell my Section Leader and the person that writes the watchbill to leave me open. Again, I really am sorry. Sorta was looking forward to writing, too. ~.C.S.~
  19. Yeah, Compyfox pretty much said it all. We're probably going to delay the release at least a few days, maybe longer. I know I was saying quite heartily that we wouldn't delay last week, but Saturday night I had an experience that can only be described, aside from as a "car accident", as divine intervention. So I'm very much willing to delay the project past the planned date in order to make sure that what everybody gets is the absolute best product. Compyfox is still working as fast and as hard as he can, and you'll all be kept very informed on the situation, despite how haphazard everything seems. Believe me, the final product WILL BE WORTH IT. So just hold your horses. And it was my bad that the front page had RoeTaKa's song listed as 0% completed, so I understand the confusion. But the music is entirely done. ~.C.S.~
  20. Hmm...tres interessante... I can't really show you any of my work, since it's all for projects in progress, but I'll make up something for Track 2 (29/96), and show it to you. Just keep me in mind until I turn something in. Nice idea. I sort of wanted to do a Zelda project after Chrono Symphonic, but since I dropped the idea, I guess this will work nicely. G'luck. ~.C.S.~
  21. Amazing piece. The overall feeling of nostalgia is overwhelming, and the music itself speaks volumes without speaking at all. The vocals add something truly beautiful to the mix, something only a human voice could add. I appreciate the work, and I really appreciate this remix. It's gorgeous. ~.C.S.~
  22. I will DEFINITELY be there, unless I get in another car accident Saturday night. But otherwise, count me in hardcore. ~.C.S.~
  23. Nice to see everyone has stopped being so uptight, including myself. After the non-CS bull**** I just went through in the last two days, it's refreshing to come back to a sensible, calm environment. Aside from all of my car problems on Friday night, and THEN the car crash last night (everyone's fine, except for my friend's totaled Hyundai, thank God) I am now better. And no, Grey Ninja, I wasn't apologizing. You're still not openly welcomed in this thread. But anyway, yes, we do need to get cranking. I'm putting my own two songs through some quality revisions, so worry not about Tracks 07 and 17. Everyone else, WORK FASTER. (P.S. FFVII:AC pwns) ~.C.S.~
  24. Just as it's your opinion that I'm an asshole or that you were speaking civilly, it's my opinion that you're being trollish and that I'm justified in deleting your posts. But being that I'm not only the creator of this project, but I also have authority over the activity of this thread, I guess my opinion has a little bit of backing to it. I suppose my being in the military leaves me little room for compassion on issues of people talking back without provocation, but that's just my prerogative. I'm not deleting your last post for a reason, because it isn't contemptable, like your others. So as long as we can keep this thing in the right realm, we'll be all set. ~.C.S.~
  25. Grey Ninja, yes, I did delete your post. And yes, I do believe your previous remarks were unwanted. But just to say what's happening, here we are. We're not using FLAC. Period. Other projects may have used it in the past, and though I've never used it, I'm sure it has the best quality available. HOWEVER, when a lot of these songs were made, they were given to me in MP3 format, and they lost a lot of their initial quality anyway. Also, those same people that rendered them that way (ellywu2, SirRus, PLBenjaminZ, a few others) are not available, or at least haven't been available in the past, to give us lossless files. So there's really no point in making a bunch of high-quality FLAC files with MP3 sound. The official torrent will be MP3 files. This will also make it a lot easier for dial-up users to get the music, since the size of the file is much more reasonable. The songs on the website will ALSO be MP3 files, though Compyfox is preparing a non-FLAC special for the release, or shortly thereafter. All the mastering stuff is his doing, so if you have a problem with him in particular, please keep it in PMs to Compy and out of this thread. That's what I ask. Sorry that you feel like I cut you off, but I honestly do think that after having your questions brought up and responded to many, many pages ago, your second appearance with the same comments and general disrespect (denouncing the project altogether, regardless of the actual music, based solely on filetype) was the beginning of trolling. Not to mention, when you started attacking Compyfox the first time around, your welcome kind of gave itself up. And don't call me an asshole, because you're just making your own "case" for harassment one big backfire waiting to happen. Bring something other than complaints to the table, please. ~.C.S.~
