  1. I thought about joining a team just for that, but then decided not to... it's not like I don't already have a medal that I only equip in a slot when I have nothing better to put there.

  5. I'm assuming you've already been invited, as I can only invite you to the other (public) OCR Steam community. Oh yay. A competition whose players get in-game items just for playing, regardless of how bad they are. Or so the page for it claims. And yet... I don't recall seeing anything on the TF2 blog about this... Wait, if you've already picked out your team, what was the point in posting here?
  6. Servers are now both back online following a Metamod: Source / SourceMod upgrade. It took longer than expected because my ISP decided to be shitty in the middle of it... I had to change update strategies halfway through* and redo some work to make sure files weren't left in a corrupted state. Side note: I mentioned the problem with the RTD plugin to the plugin's creator, and he said he was going to look into it. *First strategy was to replace files on the server with files I had locally using FTP. Second strategy was to do the replacement directly on the server using a copy of SourceMod I downloaded from the server console, through the command line... replacing files in certain directories and copying non-standard plugins and extensions manually.
  7. Yes, but there are at least two issues with destroying it this way: 1. It allows you to immediately build another. 2. It steals the kill from the Spy. While I'm a Spy and #2 annoys me, #1 is the game breaking bug.
  8. There is apparently a (console?) exploit in the game right now that lets you destroy sentries while they are being sapped. Please note, we do consider this an exploit, as it is not intended game behavior, and thus we will kick/ban people we see doing it.
  9. No, that should still work... it's from the server console, i.e. from the server's command line, that wasn't working.
  10. I can, but the plugin is kinda broken... !rtd will suddenly start working on BLU, even though it's supposed to be disabled. Also, about the edit to my last post... I saw these errors while trying to ban a micspammer from the console (who ended up getting votebanned... "ban" doesn't work from the console; you have to use our SourceBans webpage :/ ).
  11. Well, you can always hope that the Polycount items for Pyro are good. Edit: Also, I may upgrade SourceMod and MetaMod:Source tomorrow to fix some errors that are popping up from the basevotes (core) and customvotes plugins.
  12. How about no? The bleed effect is already harder to see than the fire or jarate effects; it really doesn't need additional ways to get rid of. Having said that, I do wonder why the bleed effect is more powerful than being on fire. Seems rather unfair to Pyros.
  13. Yeah, and I can also remember before then when it was mediocre. Not surprisingly, things that are deemed too good eventually get nerfed... as long as they aren't a core gameplay mechanic (sentry gun, instant-kill backstab, sniper rifle headshots...)

  15. 1. Brushfire hasn't recorded the clips. 2. A large number of the clips are actually ones that already exist in the game. 3. None of us know how to write SourceMod plugins.
  16. Speaking as the person who held the Revolver global award the most since we started using the current stats system, no I haven't forgotten. Although, I've been using the Ambassador more lately, so I lost the Revolver award.
  17. It should be noted that both the C&D and Dead Ringer run out in about 6.5 seconds as opposed to 9 seconds for the Invisibility Watch. Of course, the Invisibility Watch also takes considerably longer to recharge than the other two... unless you grab ammo boxes. Of course, the ability to recharge using ammo boxes wasn't originally part of the game... it was introduced in the January 7, 2009 update, along with level 3 dispensers and teleporters, the ability to destroy demoman sticky bombs with bullets, the Medic HUD icons that show plusses over people who call for medic, and overheal particle effects.

  19. The normal cloaking device gets 25%, 50%, and 100% cloak from small, medium, and large ammo boxes respectively. The Dead Ringer gets 25%, 35%, and 35% from small, medium, and large ammo boxes respectively. And no, 35% twice is not a typo. The Cloak and Dagger gets 0%, 0%, and 0% from small, medium, and large ammo boxes respectively.
  20. No, the best spies use the original watch because it has the longest cloak time and you can pick up ammo boxes to extend that time.
  21. The best spies use the original cloaking device. The rest of us use the Cloak and Dagger or Dead Ringer.
  22. TF2 only supports bots on certain maps. Mostly the koth ones.
  23. Hey, I'd like to point out to admins that ParanoidDrone posted a (semi-)important message to the Admin group nearly a week ago... and it really needs input. I'll be adding my own thoughts sometime this weekend.
  24. A required update for Counter-Strike: Source is now available. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive the update. The specific changes include: - Fixed new weapon firing integration causing some guns to over-fire on single taps - Fixed a couple of cases where machine guns could skip slightly with enough lag - Fixed c4 explosion pre-caching - Added precise audio timing fixes for client-side prediction - Increased the tolerance for skip detection in client side audio to prevent sound dropping out due to client clock drift - Completed work on clan tag strings validation I don't think FireSlash applied this to the server yet... I'm checking that now. Edit: Nope. Updated and now restarting.
