  1. A required update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. The specific changes include: - Fixed another sentry gun exploit that let Engineers build multiple sentries. - Fixed Engineers being able to build level 3 mini-sentries using The Wrangler for real this time Launching the server updater now.
  2. A required update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. The specific changes include: - Fixed a sentry gun exploit that let Engineers build multiple sentries. - Fixed Engineers being able to build level 3 mini-sentries using The Wrangler. - Fixed the Holy Mackerel hit triggering the first blood event in Arena mode. - Fixed seeing error particle systems in old demos.
  3. This is an exploit (that will hopefully be fixed soon) and as such, people will be banned for it. To my knowledge, it isn't explicitly addressed, but falls under the general heading of "No hate speech" in the MOTD... it's probably something that needs to be expanded and clarified. Glitches and bugs that affect the performance of others are also warnable/bannable offenses. There are regulars on this server that I have no respect for... and they probably know who they are. FYI, you're not one of them. However, if I'm thinking of the same person you mentioned at the top of your post... yeah, I can't figure it out either. This person has even has a dedicated thread on the admin board...
  4. I'm not so sure about that... his videos are hit and miss. For instance, in his first video (dustbowl 3-2), yes, he's pretty good. His second video (cp_badlands) has him doing relatively little, with the Scouts on his team capping all the points. I haven't watched the others yet.
  5. I hope the Spy in that video isn't always this bad. Then again, I can say that because koth_nucleus is one of my best maps as Spy.
  6. Hopefully Valve will fix that before its official release. On another subject, has anyone run into any problems with reserved slots today? There is one other thing I forgot to mention about reserved slots. The new plugin will, if everyone on has a reserved slot, kick a lower immunity level if a higher level immunity person logs on. In other words, if an admin logs on, it will kick a normal reserved slot holder. Granted, this is very rare (do we even HAVE 24 reserved slot holders?).
  7. (deleted original text) OK, I think I got this working now... I've installed CBaseServer and Immunity Reserved Slots. I have no way of testing if the new plugin works or not, though. We'll have to try it on a full server. At least the extension is loading now, which is a good sign. The server slot counts have both been reduced to 24. This will still show up as 25 if the server has a low population thanks to how SourceTV and the Auto SourceTV Recorder plugin works, but should revert to 24 after that. I also updated an unrelated game file that may fix the occasional rare crash we've been seeing... SDK Hooks has an updated gamedata file available for the Mann-conomy update that we never set up. SDK Hooks is used by the HLStatsX: CE logging plugin.
  8. Yes, and a routing problem between XO Networks and Hostnoc (where files.ocrtf2.com is hosted) that made me unable to connect is why I was able to verify that the reserved slots were not working properly... once I manually downloaded the map from the server, I couldn't reconnect from the console.
  9. The current change to reserved slots is definitely not working properly, the game just tells you "Server is full" even if someone who doesn't have a reserved slot is on. Tomorrow, I may look into installing the things I mentioned in an earlier post (I dunno, some friends are in town this weekend).
  10. Yes. At first they couldn't, but luckily that changed.
  11. Mmm, free gifts aren't really that useful. Most of the time they're just a random weapon. Rarely, they're a nametag or dueling game.
  12. Hopefully we'll get some new achievements. Either way, provided they release it before Halloween, the Halloween event will be shifting to the new map... or both it and Harvest Event.
  13. Which you can see here. Two winners. Which means Valve is adding two maps that have identical structure but look different. I'm not so sure I like this, unless Valve does something special with one of them. Since YM's winning entry appears to be halloween themed...
  14. There seemed to have been results submitted for their Turtles match, but it hadn't been updated on the main scoreboard. I think it might have had something to do with the high number of people listed that weren't actually playing on the server that are still listed in the results.
  15. Does everyone want me to change the L4D2 server to be attached to the steam group? I'd have to check out what other settings I need to disable though... oh and don't forget, we can install custom campaigns on it.
  16. I know Blizzard mentioned redoing how Rage worked to help out Warriors. Also, they made the DK Blood talent tree a tanking tree. Actually, they likely moved quite a few talents around in the trees, since you now MUST spend 31 points (out of the reduced 41 talent points) in a single tree of your choice before the other two trees unlock.
  17. An optional update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. The specific changes include: - Fixed server crash caused by a Scout using the Sandman on an enemy Scout who has used Bonk! - Made Ellis' Cap and the Frying Pan tradable - Added "Automatically respawn after loadout changes in respawn zones" option to the Options->Multiplayer->Advanced dialog - Fixed a problem with the Lugermorph model BLU and RED have finished updating and been restarted. Highlander has also been updated and restarted.
  18. It doesn't help that certain settings conflict with one another. For instance, I can associate it with a specific steam group, but there was some other problem doing that caused that I don't recall. L4D2 for a time was supposed to have a lobby leader option to connect to a group server.
  19. Not a big fan of L4D2. Maybe it's because the people I usually play L4D2 with are a bunch of asses. Particularly when it comes to versus mode. And yet I'm the one who keeps the l4d2.ocrtf2.com server up to date. Figure that one out. Having said that, no one ever uses it. I'm surprised FireSlash hasn't pointed that out alongside the CS:S server for IPs we can reclaim for... more TF2 servers. Yes, we restrict the number of admins who have filesystem access... it gives us a larger feeling of control... MWAHAHAHA! That and most admins wouldn't have a clue as to what they were doing with the files on the filesystem. On an unrelated note to either of the above, expect RED to be down part of the day on Halloween as I make a copy of the current server for the Halloween event... don't want to screw up BLU's configuration. Edit: Oh, er, forgot to mention... I did upload the map to the mirror and server. It should appear on the nominate list after a map change.
  20. Guilds will capped to 1000 people... but 1000 people is still a lot. Good, now can you kick Liontamer until he patches the forum to a newer version? Following Social groups was added a few releases of VBulletin after Social Groups were introduced... sometime during mid-2009. Did I mention that there was also a major security flaw patched in a newer version of the VBulletin? And that I brought this up already? I mean, unless the super admins don't care if someone could potentially steal their admin login details (note that although the thread title doesn't mention it, the body mentions this was fixed in 3.8.5; we're running 3.8.1 from Jan 2009)...
  21. Mmm, I'm not sure how FireSlash has modified reserved slots. I assumed he had installed the CBaseServer SourceMod extension and another SourceMod plugin that uses it (the default one or Immunity Reserve Slots), but I don't see it present. Of course, if it was, we'd also need to be running a SourceMod 1.4 beta build, as CBaseServer is built against 1.4. Edit: There is a CBaseServer version compiled against 1.3, though. Edit 2: The only change is that the reserved slot is now hidden.
  22. I was just reading about some class changes. Some should have been done long ago, like Hunters no longer needing ammo (it's automagic now!) and Warlocks no longer having to carry around Soul Shards. Not sure what I think about the changes to Glyphs, though... although permanently learning them would help a lot, it also puts a cap on the Glyph market.
  23. I'm kind of reviving an old topic here, I know... ...but if I'm reading Blizzard's notice right, tonight will have an extended maintenance time for the release of Patch 4.0.1. Given that the current WoW version is 3.3.5, that means... the Cataclysm that will change the old world starts tomorrow. On another note, the actual expansion will be released on December 7th.
  24. Daily awards would be wiped, yes... but those are only really useful for historical data. Speaking of daily awards, I just noticed that yesterday's awards haven't been processed. I disabled the stats user's scheduled jobs (crontab) while I was upgrading and forgot to reenable it... it's processing yesterday's awards now. Global Awards are already just the last X days (default is 28). I'm lost as to whether this is referencing our HLStatsX installation or FireSlash's TF2Stats site. I'd like to bump up the medic assist score. In fact, for a reset, I may just do a fresh install, as that will reset all the values to their current "fresh install" values, then modify them from there. HLStatsX has no "reset to default" for scores, and yet they change said scores default values between versions... Still, on the scores reset front, it might be worth looking into when HLStatsX CE 1.7 (or is that 1.8...) comes out, as I heard a rumor that there will be a new scoring system. Edit: There's been some requests for a votable Melee-only plugin. There appear to be two such plugins for Sourcemod. The older, approved (i.e. tested) one is TF2 Melee Mode. The newer, not-yet-approved one is Melee only. The second plugin has an alternate mode that allows certain non-melee items: jarate, bonk, crit-a-cola, sandwich, chocolate, buff banner, sappers, disguise kit, wrangler, mad milk, battalion's backup, and all buildables.
  25. HLStatsX has been updared to 1.6.11. This adds tracking of the Mann-conomy weapons. The logging plugin has also been updated to address issues with it never clearing a flag with Engys moving buildings. If you lost points from this (because it wasn't counting new buildings in your score), I'm sorry. Maybe we should just reset all the scores... The following new awards were added this version: Dalokohs is delicious! - Dalokoh Bars eaten Degreased - Degreaser kills Down Under - Sydney Sleeper kills Fried Egg - Frying Pan kills George Bushwacka - Bushwacka kills It goes on and on... - Eternal Reward kills It's Urgent - Gloves of Running Urgently kills Mini Bob the Builder - Mini-sentries built (and mini-sentries no longer count towards Bob the Builder) Powerjacking - Powerjack kills Ranged - L'Etranger kills Say no to mini sentries - Mini-sentries destroyed (and mini-sentries no longer count towards Say no to sentries) Something's Fishy - Holy Mackerel kills Stopping Short - Shortstop kills Take your Vita-Saws - Vita-Saw kills We've got a bleeder - Kills from bleed effects What's in the box? - Black Box kills Strangely, there is no award for hitting the most people with Mad Milk, while Jarate has multiple awards... Battler's Battalion also doesn't have any award, while Buff Banner does...
