  1. The point is that it can't be growing because TF2 will block new players from joining because they have to update, and they can't join after updating because the weapon tables changed.
  2. The servers are dying on restart following the update. We're looking into this now. Sourcemod (and reserved slots) are temporarily disabled until we find out what's causing things to crash. Also, new Engineer item: Gold Wrench. Don't know if that's its official name or not, I just saw its model files during the update.
  3. A required update for Team Fortress 2 is now available. This is also an optional update for Counter-Strike: Source, since it fixes a bullet penetration problem on Linux servers. The specific changes are: Server Browser - Server browser now starts centered onscreen when it opens up. - Filter panel now starts expanded, instead of hidden. - Added a warning dialog that pops up to warn players joining games with more than the recommended number of players. - Added a "max player count" filter setting. - Renamed quick list checkbox from "Show Map List" to "Simplified List". - Mouseover the checkbox now explains the simplified list in the status bar. - Quicklist now shows the number of other servers running each map. - Fixed a couple of bugs related to toggling the quick list, which were resulting in you needing to refresh again. Team Fortress 2 - Added missing earbud particles for DX8 players. - Added new ConVar mp_windifference_min to be used with mp_windifference. - Added Engineer to the list of classes that can equip Max's Pistol. - Rebuilt sound cache files that were out of date. - Source TV: - Fixed unlockable items not being visible. - Stopped "player is carrying X" messages looping forever. - Fixed overhealed particle effect being visible on your current view target when in first-person spectator mode. - Changed in-game button colors to be less eyepoppingly bright. - Improved Steam Web APIs for TF2 items (see http://www.teamfortress.com/) Engine - Fixed some graphical issues when alt-tabbing during a game. - Fixed bullet penetration problems with Linux dedicated server. - Removed an exploit that allowed people to change their names to something other than their Steam profile name. Servers are being updated now. However, we took them offline as they will stop players who have updated from joining because of the weapon change.
  4. TF2Wiki.net is now being hosted by Valve. Its new address is http://wiki.teamfortress.com/
  5. If that config maker hasn't been updated in the last week, it's out of date. CS:S uses the OrangeBox engine now.
  6. In my defense, I told you when I originally moved it. It's not my fault you didn't update your script then. Also, plr_nightfall_b1 is newer than plr_nightfall_c? Talk about counter-intuitive. Edit: Apparently it is newer. I also updated nightfall to plr_nightfall_b1b which apparently was released just today.
  7. TF2 is part of today's Steam sale for $6.79, until 10am PDT/1pm EDT tomorrow. You'd think they'd bring it down to Halloween sale price, though.
  8. Engineers who have buildings built technically are doing something, because of said buildings. However, when you have Scouts just sitting there running from the exit to the entrance and taking the teleporters repeatedly, they're doing nothing.
  9. At the very least, it's HLStatsX score abuse. More importantly, now that reserved slots aren't free, "wasting" a slot by not playing the game is going to be a kick at the very least (P.S. and spectating on a full server is going to count for this too); intentionally sitting there boosting other peoples score while contributing nothing is going to be a ban.
  10. Hi, if I see someone on and just repeatedly taking teleporters and doing nothing else, it's an instant 4 hour ban. That is all.
  11. Hmm... are you also adjusting how many maps are listed at once?
  12. Don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, but TF2, Orange Box, and Valve Complete Pack are all on sale during the current one. $13.39 TF2 (not really a good price), $20.09 OB, and $66.99 Valve Complete.
  13. I'm only on this thread to keep people notified of server updates. Don't expect to actually see me playing it.
  14. So, a new game engine update today killed setinfo name. I'm guessing it also kills the server's ability to rename players. RED has been restarted, BLU hasn't. Enjoy it while it lasts. Edit: Actually, this is as of Wednesday's update. Today's game engine fix deals with loading DLLs.
  15. New update today, I'll be applying it shortly: Counter-Strike: Source: - Fixed several problems with missing textures in community maps. - Fixed a crash that could occur when stats get updated. - Fixed a crash that could occur when displaying the scoreboard. - Added "cl_show_achievement_popups", a convar that is on by default. Turning it off disables in-game achievement announcements. - Restricted the range of commands that servers can cause clients to execute when closing the MOTD. - Server admins will need to change the "cmd" key from a string to one of the following ints: - 0 for no command - 1 for joingame - 2 for changeteam - 3 for impulse 101 - 4 for mapinfo - 5 for closed_htmlpage - 6 for chooseteam Engine: - Fixed an exploit that allowed a plug-in to be loaded as a .dll file on the client after being downloaded from the server. Missed from last update: - Removed an exploit that allowed players to change their in-game name outside of the Steam Community Linux Dedicated Server: - Fixed srcds_run so -autoupdate works properly for Counter-Strike: Source
  16. I've modified the map cycle to remove duplicate maps. Hopefully this will fix some of the problems with certain maps appearing more often than others, etc... Current map cycle: koth_viaduct cp_fastlane pl_goldrush cp_freight_final1 ctf_doublecross cp_gravelpit plr_pipeline cp_badlands cp_egypt_final pl_badwater cp_coldfront_rc3 cp_granary koth_nucleus cp_dustbowl ctf_turbine pl_frontier cp_gorge cp_steel
  17. I hope you adjusted the vote time to be more than 5 minutes before map end, or you'll end up with the occasional missed vote.
  18. I have better evidence than that: sv_disablefreezecam Unknown command "sv_disablefreezecam" sv_nonemesis Unknown command "sv_nonemesis" sv_nomvp Unknown command "sv_nomvp" sv_nostats Unknown command "sv_nostats" sv_password "sv_password" = "" notify - Server password for entry into multiplayer games The last is included to show that cvars that exist show a different message. notify is there because players are informed when sv_password changes, but not what it is changed to.
  19. There was a stealth update to TF2 today, caused by CS:S being updated to use the Orange Box engine (Jason Ruymen from Valve confirmed this on the hlds_linux mailing list). The update may not actually change anything in TF2, but just in case I've updated the servers and restarted them.
  20. That's amusing to me, only because Windows is usually the other way around: Full Screen is faster than windowed mode.
  21. Right. extra characters so this is longer than 10
  22. I've updated HLStatsX: CE to 1.6.9. This should resolve some issues dealing with how it logged teleports and fixes a potential issue with how stats are logged from multiple servers. At present, it logs stats from all 4 servers are logged. Also, I made a change that may piss people off: Crits no longer subtract a point from your score. Recent HLStatsX installs no longer have -1 for crits, so I figured popular support would be to disable it (we talked about this once before as I recall). One last thing, I fixed the configuration on the two new servers so they no longer spam HLStatsX stats.
  23. So yeah, if you haven't checked the first post yet, the new servers are now operational (although I need to restart BLU to up the player count to 25). Right now, both servers are identical other than what map they start rotation on. BLU starts on ctf_doublecross, RED starts on pl_goldrush. BLU is blu.ocrtf2.com:27015 / 206.217.135.91:27015 RED is red.ocrtf2.com:27015 / 206.217.135.92:27015 Both are being tracked by our stats site.
  24. I'm probably going to be doing some configuration stuff (if FireSlash doesn't beat me to it) as soon as I finished eating.
