  1. It's hard to distinguish music composed on a computer and a live piece these days. I'm going with live piece. There's NO WAY this sound could be replicated with any Gigasamples or soundfonts or crap like that. Then again... if it is, it's THE most realistic computerized composition... ever... EVAR! Anyways, regardless of it being live or not, I thoroughly enjoyed this remix. It made me of course, think back to the 70s, and the Blues Brothers. This is a swingin groovy song. Must download.
  2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA And that's what I think of this song.
  3. You have version 3.0? For one, it doesn't have the scratcher. Two, it's the most buggy version of FL ever released. My suggestion to you is to grab a later version, like 3.56, which is what I have. They have FruityStudio 4 out now, so I recommend you go to www.flstudio.com and buy it. And your second question: Use the piano roll! Right click on the channel and select piano roll. It's fairly easy to use so I don't think I need to explain to you how to use it remember drag the right side in and out to determine the length of the note (unless you're using a standard .wav sample with no loop points)
  4. I'm going to be completely honest. This sucks. I'll elaborate. The sounds used were HIGHLY annoying, the arranging was HIGHLY repetitive, and it was HIGHLY cluttered. Sorry, but in my opinion, I don't see why this was posted.
  5. Uhh, those whale things, I assume they're metroids, but sometimes that noise will get really loud and like, hurt my ears. Other than that, this is the best Metroid remix that I've ever heard. It tops my stuff! I mean the best metroid remixes I have to offer are my medleys (shameless plug, check out "Hidden From the World" and "Metroid Medley" on my website) which are nowhere near this kind of quality, even though I did work on both of them for a few weeks. It's weird, I think both our remixes share some qualities, for example, destroying people's subwoofers and playing the metroid theme for the intro Once again, I gotta say this is my favorite Metroid remix, along with HomesickAlien's Metroid Title Remix (it was on VGmix) A must download for the metroid lovers.
  6. Well, you don't have to attack me, cause I'm not attacking you.
  7. nothing but soundfonts... Did you check to see the SF player is not a demo, or if you're that evil a person, not properly hacked?
  8. What? It's been how long since an Arkanoid remix? This remix is pretty cool, although a little on the bland side. It's not bad, in fact it's pretty good, but lacks originality. It feels like OCR a long time ago when everything used to be techno mixes I dig the tempo changes, though. Kinda neat effect. The song is sorta repetitive, but that's ok.
  9. Dude, that's easy just change the velocity on the step sequencer or the piano roll.
  10. Well, they say that if you don't use those memory-hogging VSTi and DXi (which are actually the good ones ) then you must have over a pentium 200 mhz processor. I recommend over 500 mhz, and at least 256 MB of ram.
  11. Give the effect it's own channel, and maybe make a copied channel so you can use the same thing without the effects.
  12. Uhh, hit the 'song' button right up there next to the play button is probably the answer. Also, LOTS of tutorials. There's a GREAT one that comes with the program, but if you want a little extended help: http://lister.e-officedirect.com/lister.exe?forumname=Fruityloops&Filename=335.html
  13. Wow yeah, it IS the forest level. My mistake But no, this doesn't play anywhere else. See, I hadn't played the game in so long. Maybe I should pop in the cartridge again.
  14. WOW! SOMEONE ELSE HAS PLAYED S[]CKET! Yeah, cool spelling huh? Get it, cause of the socket? Well anyways enough about the name. The game and it's soundtrack are REALLY great and I still play it sometimes. I'm seeing a lot of uncommon Genesis remixes lately, there's this and NoppZ's Zombies ate my Neighbors remix. Both are outstanding. What's next? Zool? Bubsy? ...hey that'd be cool First of all, after I settled down from the excitement of knowing more than 5 people actually bought this game, I started to listen to the remix, and seeing as how I'm really familiar with this soundtrack, I decided to review. Love the intro, it feels like I'm getting pumped for one of the racing levels, but now that the melody comes in, I see you did the weird water level Oh well, but I would have liked to have seen another song remixed, like the Futura song. Nice variation on the song, too. I like the instrument choice and the style. Not one of your best, however, but I still highly recommend this 1) cause it's from Socket and 2) it's a pretty good take on the song.
  15. If dragging doesn't work, what you CAN do is go to the piano roll, select all the notes (Ctrl-A) Copy the notes (Ctrl-C) then add the generator of your choice (Channels > Add) then go into that generator's piano roll (Right click on the channel > piano roll) then paste all the notes (Ctrl-V) VOI-FRIKKIN-LA!
  16. I LOVE THIS SONG. It's definitely better than MY take of the song, so, mad props Jive. I love the heaviness of the song
  17. Simply great to dance to, however, it IS a club track, which means you shouldn't really "concentrate" on the music, rather just dancing to the beat.
  18. Actually, WASP can create a sound like that. Try fooling around with the LFO or something.
  19. I LOVE Zombies Ate My Neighbors. However, I didn't seem to enjoy it much on the SNES as I did on the Genesis. NoppZ mix does well to remind me of those days when I tried to get past that hedgemaze with the Jason ripoffs I dig the samples used, and even though it sounds near like the original song, I love it. Next you should remix the mall music! you know? with the little dolls that go "WOOHAAAH!"
  20. Seriously? Ok, well, the best thing I can think of is: Export as .wav. Then just get an encoder like RazorLAME (my favorite) and encode to .mp3. LAME can make VBR files, as well.
  21. I know your problem, I think. When you render to .mp3 format, there is a section that says "Quality" look for that and select 6 point hermite instead of Sinc Depth.
  22. You don't have the SF player? Well, if you can load a .sf2 into FL, then you have the player. When there are no instruments in the soundfont, that means it is an incomplete file. A lot of times when I download from www.thesoundsite.net only 64 KB of a soundfont will be downloaded, and therefore there is no data inside the soundfont. Try redownloading the same file.
