  1. Me three!!!!!!!!!! Tell! Tell! Tell!!!
  2. Man...this is amazing. If Castlevania were ever a movie franchise, this would definitely be on Castlevania IV's Motion Picture Soundtrack. It's like the overture of Castlevania IV. Really, really nice. I love the mood transitions and the sound samples of everything. Nigel, you did a great job with this one. The only reason I'm giving it anything short of 10/10 is because it becomes so moving it sometimes sweeps you away from the Castlevania aura. And that's not something you usually want to lose hold of in a ReMix. Regardless, this piece rocks. Highly recommended, 8/10.
  3. Pretty nice. I really like what BogusRed's done with the ALttP ending theme. It's an already-great song, done even better. It's gentle, and he piano gives it a very realistic feel instead of a video game. It almost feels as though it were composed in the eighteenth century. The deviation from the standard chord structure was something that jumped at me right away. At first it was dissapointing because I was expecting certain chord changes at certain times like the original, but after a while, the basic bass chords sounded really cool. I like this, a lot. Good job BogusRed! 10/10!
  4. Aw man, that's some nice stuff you got there Neskvartetten. I really love the jazz sound and smooth vibes given off from the quiet percussion in the backround. The deviation from Zelda's Lullaby at 1:15 is pretty neat, but you forget that it's still just a remix. Unfortunately, that deviation lasts a really long time. It's more like interpretive jazz with allusions to Zelda's Lullaby, which is neat, but just not solid enough for a title of ReMix. I still really, really like it though, so I give it a 8/10. Way to go Neskvartetten, keep it up.
  5. I...I just don't know what to say. You all can thank AmIEvil for making me an OC fan in the first place. Right after the Legend of Zelda "Rabbit Join Cover", "Death on the Snowfield" was the second ReMix I ever d-loaded from OC. I didn't think AmIEvil, or any ReMixer could get better than that song...ever! But I stand here today, corrected and dumbfounded. Four Little Metroids (which I downloaded because of the cool name, mind you)has to be one of the most innovative ReMixes at OC. With the weird metal saw "wooble" sounds in the beginning, followed by echoing bells playing those three infamous Metroid notes, I got hooked. At 1:00 when I heard that almost-vintage, record player, screech, I nearly cried. That, though very, very eerie, is beautiful! The rest of the song has a cool, groovy beat, nice changes in tempo, and covers four amazing Super Metroid melodies. This...if I ever visited Zebes, this song would definitely be playing in my head all the while. God-sent. Without a doubt this mix gets a 10/10.
  6. Beautiful...just beautiful. First things first: the bad stuff. The only thing I don't like about this piece is that from 0:14 to about 0:54 (40 whole seconds!) you don't realize it's a remix of the Serenade of Water. It sounds nice, yes, but it just doesn't sound like Zelda. The rest though; the gentle harp, the relaxing ocarina, and even the trinkling water, is freaking awesome. I really like the piano chords at 1:20 and how it deviates into some new chords at 1:27. That's just genius. This is my first ReMix I've heard from Theophany, but if I hear any others, and they're half as original and beautiful as this piece, even they would be guaranteed-playlist-worthy pieces. Great stuff.
  7. DarkeSword...you're a genius, man. I don't know where you got all that from, but it's beautiful. A little ditty at the beginning of Wind Waker was taken, crafted, and then perfected all in one fell swoop. You've literally made something out of nothing, and it's a beautiful something. I especially like the harp for the touching beginning and then the triumphant horns come i playing everyone's favorite Zelda theme. Just brilliant. The one thing I'd even come remotely close to getting negative about is at about 3:55 the song resorts back to the harp. This is cool and gives it a sort of faded out ending, but I think it could have been uber-triumphant and ended at 3:54. But hey, the mellow ending is cool too. Yet another kick-ass Zelda remix for the fans. Good jeorb!
  8. As much of a fan as I am of McVaffe and Zelda, especially ALttP, this song wasn't a fast hitter for me. It took me two listens to say "Hey, that's a pretty neat concept." What I didn't like was the chime/bell thingies in the beginning. The melody they play is cool, but the sound just isn't...fluid with rest of the song. Also, the change in tempo and such at 1:50 was odd at first, but that was just because it was unexpected. After another listen, again, it sounded really cool. One thing I did really like about it is the mellow tempo and general vibe that the flute gave off. And the transition to the credit music was a really, really nice touch. I've always loved that theme, and the way it's remixed here is splendid. So, overall, I'd give it an 8/10. Not the best, but still pretty damn good. Way to go McVaffe.
  9. Disco Dan...you have no idea how many whole-hearted Zelda fans completely love you right now. Triforce Majeure, while not the best Zelda ReMix, is definitely on the Top 5 list after the first listen. And that says a lot. My one gripe, which isn't even that bad, is that the song could have ended at about 7:46. But because of the extra few minutes, it's not really playlist material. I mean, I put it on my favorite's list regarldess, just because it's that damn good, but big 11:10 songs usually don't get along well with the other kids..er, mixes, and like to steal all the attention. However, even though it does keep going, I like the way it does just build suspense and has the climactic orchestra hits yet again, just for the people saying, "Just one more time, please!?". If it weren't for the length, it'd be a 10/10. But since you did manage to make the song rise yet again and then die down the same way, just minutes later, I'll give you a 9/10. Friggin brilliant.
  10. Here goes nothing. Well, seeing how as this is a newbie thread, an I'm a newbie, maybe I ought to give you guys a little intro. That is, unless I completely missed the concept of this thread, which may be the case since I haven't seen many newbies in here at all. Anywho, here we go. My name is Joel, but you people will better know me as millman. I'm seventeen, but will be eighteen in les than two weeks. I've been coming to OC for years now, but sadly haven't done crap to support it. Well, this year after graduation, I got plenty of cash and a new laptop, so when d-loading all of my favorite remixes again, I felt a bit guilty and decided to take part in this kick-ass community. Hehe, I guess you could say I've been with you in spirit for years, but finally took the initiative. Anywho, I'll do what I can with funds, and review as much as I can. Being an audiophile and a remixer myself, I'll do what I can to review and help with upcoming submissions on the site. About myself? I love games (The entire Legend of Zelda series, in particular, and if anyone wants to discuss the storyline, I'm the guy to talk to) and I love music. Music of all kinds too, from classical to punk to swing to reggae to you name it. And I love the net. I'm not new to forums, by any means, and so you don't have to worry about the newbie-attitude. Other than that, I'm a pretty good guy, so I'm told. I won't judge you, so no need to judge me. That's about it for now, I guess I'll see you guys around. Hehe, you can all sleep easier knowing one lurcher has decided to give his hand to OC. Well, see ya. EDIT: Hehe, I forgot to thank you guys for the directions around the site. Knowing your way around is always nice, lol. So...thanks. See ya.
