Man, how am I supposed to compete against the super l33tness present in this project? WOW! Really, I'll get started on this track. TinyWIP will be arriving before July 23. DecentWIP hopefully will be there before August 1's deadline.

That interpretation is much more understandable than mine! Actually, I didn't hear the C in the first chord, so I took the last two chords as being IV - I in G. I have failed and must accept my shame by permanently resigning from OCR! And the whole internet! And you wanted to confuse Shnabubula with your odd atonality and weird key modulations! The first chord was definitely a C. That's about as far as I got before I had to do other things.

I'm in the process of sitting down with it and working it out. I'm no music theory expert but I could honestly use the practice. If you have an interpretation for me, do feel free to share but do not feel obligated to do so.

If there's reasonable agreement that there's no established tonality then I'll simply work with the chromaticism and see what I can come up with. Since I'm still new to all of this, and my music theory knowledge is pretty basic, I like to build harmony using chord tones, basic progressions, and some basic non-harmonic tones. This (along with the Ultima 8 soundtrack in OCR Idol) would be my first rather deep plunge into the realm of music with no real established tonality. I'm probably in the minority by doing this, but I like to analyse what I'm remixing before I actually start adding stuff to it. There's not a lot here in terms of a melody, so I might incorporate bits from "Unicorn", which uses a variation of the melody from Martel.

Totally OT but it has to be said.... the Suikoden arrange albums kick total ass.

Dumb question. Is this actually correct? I had a look at it and it doesn't follow Eb Major very well. But then, it also doesn't fit into E major very well either. I suppose the key question is - does it matter? Well, it REALLY helps if I know what key a song is in so when I write a harmony I don't totally mess it up. I grabbed the MIDI but haven't figured out the progression yet. Yeah I suck.

I'm still a slacker and haven't gotten to my track. Argh. Too busy doing other things. I will make a point of getting you SOMETHING before July 23, even if it's it's a stupid 16-bar long improv.

I found that, when I was using FLStudio 5 demo on my SB Live! with DirectSound drivers, I had to turn off "Use Polling" to get decent playback results. If I didn't, it would pop and crack like crazy. Another option you might want to consider is to upgrade your drivers to ASIO, that might improve playback on some systems. Finally... this is an obvious one but it has to be said... make sure your song isn't clipping. Check the levels on the top to make sure that's not the case.

I always listen to the stinke---FUCK! Rayza, if Windows is crashing on you, you might want to consider creating a Knoppix Live-CD disc if you're daring. It will be able to copy your data if you don't have a backup. If you just want to restore your OS, then you can probably do that in Knoppix with some bootloading configuration but I hesitate to recommend that option since it requires a lot of knowledge of bootloading and how your system's set up.

Edit: Rayza, you said your hard drive has no master boot record? If that's the case, you should just be able to boot up on another drive (or a boot disc) and then grab the contents of that drive. That's assuming you don't have a data copy of your drive already.

Sorry, I'm a slacker. I haven't started yet, I got a load of work dumped on me this week. The intention was to work on it this weekend. It usually takes me about a week to come up with a decent completed first draft. Plus I'm new to this all, so mine should take longer than most others to reach a good level of quality.

You did well. I'm sure that people generally enjoyed hearing the Zexy Aurora Voice. I like to leave constructive criticism sometimes but despite all of that you two are doing really well. The presentation and speaking is improving rapidly, too - much more natural and flowing. Flowing, like a river.

I've noticed that Aurora's voice was like, twice as loud as Rayza's in this podcast. I had to turn it up to hear Rayza's Comments on Stuff over Aurora's Voice of Energy! Thanks for mentioning my site, too.

OT: Use the NN-XT. It'll load soundfonts. Your kick is too loud, as mentioned. I think it might actually clip but I didn't run it through the spectrum analyzer to find out. Reason kicks ass. Good start going on, here - hope to see more of it soon. I have to hit some of the other WIPs (and get started on my own work!)
