  1. REMIX: Caught In A Web [w/ ShreddingRainbows' Guitar Tracks] Caught In A Web [w/o Guitar Tracks] I am working on a remix/cover of a 90's Sega CD video game or Mega CD depending on where you live. The track was originally written by Spencer Nilsen, He was responsible for many soundtracks in video games and films. The original Track can be checked out above I need a Lead and Rhythm Guitar for this project (the guitar tracks were originally done by ShreddingRainbows, unfortunately I haven't heard from him since April 21st, 2014) but if you got something to offer like drums, organ, slap bass, feel free to join and I can make mp3s with the synthesized tracks out. i am also open to hearing your thoughts about this remix. I am awfully rusty and its been awhile since I have made an attempt to make a remix.
  2. Hey guys, a couple hours ago I started working on a rock remix of the stage 2 music from Mighty Final Fight. It's in it's very early stages, but here's how it sounds so far... https://soundcloud.com/magnius/riverside Ver 2: https://soundcloud.com/magnius/mighty-final-fight-stage-2-wip-ver-2
  3. Hey guys I wrote a new song. It is the first time I have ever sang and exposed it to anyone... Gotta get over that fear sometime! Tell me what you think of it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxBRJ3Bi-_w
  4. I am a little too early in the process of composing to be sharing this right now, but I feel the need to make sure that I'm complaint with the rules here before I proceed any further. This remix is primarily going to focus on Divine Bloodlines ( ) and Bloody Tears (link). A friend pointed out to me that my prelude (intro) sounds like the song Aerials from S.O.A.D. ( ). That wasnt the intention even though I'll admit that it does sound pretty close. And it 1:55 you can hear that I literally combined Bloody Tears and Divine Bloodlines. To avoid repletion, I decided to harmonize the lead from divine bloodlines and change a few chords. But other than that I feel like it may not be enough deviation from the original material. I also want to make sure that nobody else has though of doing that. I listened to some remixes and I haven't found anything yet. But they work so well together that I find it a little hard to believe that nobody has though to do it. Im still in the composition phase, and so what you're hearing right now is just a midi file written with music notation software. I added some reverb and little things so it would sound listenable to an extent. My plan is to perform and record most of the tracks while others will be recording using FLS. I also plan to recruit a real bass player who can play the bass line. Thank you in advance. Encore of Blood Link to entire song (prelude included) Encore of Blood link to the other part in question.
  5. Sorry for posting something so short, but I wanted to get opinions on this. I really like the harmony in the source material, so I played around with it a bit and slapped this pensive introduction together: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l12ch8n7dko7hf2/cathedral-mix-r1.mp3 I'm using some heavy reverb here since I was going for a sort of "chamber" sound. It interacts a bit strangely with the close mic'ing of the guitars, but I prefer it to a more dry sound. I think the dynamics of the piano could be more expressive. Also, the piano just drops out at the end; that is not the long-term plan. I'm not sure this works or gels. Thoughts? Thanks!
  6. https://app.box.com/s/s8iid64fqtwzz8mxetlf jazzy mix i made back in November the original song: i was pretty liberal with the arrangement. instead of taking the structure of the song and remixing from within, i incorporated bits from the original in a totally different and progressive structure. sorta took it in a totally different direction, a more winter-y direction. like Petalburg City in the winter ya know
  7. About: (WIP) Remix of Death Mountain. Game: (SNES) Legend Of Zelda - A Link To The Past Source: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVHoVIyjldU Key: C Natural Minor Current Version: https://soundcloud.com/darrencsmith/death-mountain-wip-9 Older Versions: https://soundcloud.com/darrencsmith/sets/death-mountain-wips Hey everyone. Just curious to see what everyone thinks about this. Depending on the feedback I may work on it or move on to another project. Please critique. Thanks in advance. ~Dare
  8. Hey, MikeViper here. I started working on a guitar cover of Straight Ahead from Mega Man Zero 4. It's very WIP at the moment though. You can listen to it: https://soundcloud.com/magnius/mega-man-zero-4-straight-ahead-cover-wip
  9. Hi there! This is my first post so be gentle. Over the last few months I've done a few remixes of C&C tracks, but this is my best so far I think. I'd like some feedback on it, what should be improved, what I can keep in mind for future etc though just as a note - I have no musical knowledge or understanding whatsoever which is probably a fundamental problem in itself. That being said here's the link to it! https://soundcloud.com/fraser-jennison/act-on-instinct-remix EDIT: So the project has changed direction slightly. It was previously just an Act On Instinct remix but now also incorporates themes from March To Doom and No Mercy. The idea is to try emulate a kind of Deep Purple feat Keith Emerson sound- that good old rock n' roll with the Jon Lord hammond and Emerson Moog. I wanted to start with a recognisable take on the AOI tune and chorus then move into straight original territory to make it not just a remake but more of a tribute to the game as a whole.
  10. https://soundcloud.com/brotha-dom/hedgehog-reboom-draft Cyber Track Zone: , (There are other sources that are relatively close, Act 2 and 3) Music Plant Zone: I need a lot of help with this one. I entered it in the SZRC way back in the first round and didn't do too well. But! That's a great reason to ask for help. The main criticisms I've gotten so far are issues with the music's key clashing, and my lyrical delivery isn't very energetic. I was hoping I could get some advice on how to work through that. Thanks!
  11. Hey guys I wrote a new song. Tell me what you think of it!
  12. EDIT: Thanks everyone, i'll work in the stuff you said
  13. Hello everyone, please check out this draft of my solo guitar arrangement! I submit this for your consideration: Just a quick sketch, will try to make a better recording of it at some point! Thanks!
  14. Just played around with this tune last night. Maybe a bit messy, but I like the acoustic sound applied to this track: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8a24hc2hsye43xb/will-mix-r1a.mp3 There's not much more to add to cover the entirety of the source material. I'll likely just loop it as in the original with some changes to the ending. This is one of my favorite darker tunes from Chrono Trigger. I had a lot of fun messing around with it.
  15. Hello All This is my first post on OC Remix Yes I know the arrangement has yet to be changed, but i wanted to get all the sounds and elements correct first before going for an extended original mix of this track... This is my Dance remix of - Gyromite Stage theme, from the NES 1985 game - Gyromite (The rob the robot game) https://soundcloud.com/moleman124/gyromite-stage-theme-nes-1985 All feedback would be appreciated. Cheers, El Sexmo
  16. I finally upgraded some of my sounds . I've also learned how to sidechain (thanks to Argle's REAPER tutorials thread ). 17. I haven't been able to make music the last few months, so bear with me if it's not up to par. I had this theme in my had for quite some time, so I decided to try and make something out of it... https://soundcloud.com/yaminokeshin/dancing-in-the-horror-fortress

  19. Never liked the drums and the guitar in my mix for Maverick Rising. I started to revisit it for fun and with a new drum and guitar (and halve the lenght lol). It's not mixed, and that drum pattern will change but what do you thing of that sound ? Chill Penguin Link I'll edit this post as it devellops but really, just working sporadically. Here's the link to the original remix :
  20. https://soundcloud.com/jaxong/song-of-healing-remix hey y'all. here's something i made a while back when i was supposed to be studying.. i've always loved this song and decided to put my own spin on it. i'm pretty new to producing so all feedback and criticisms are warmly welcomed. enjoy, headphones highly recommended
  21. Hey everyone! Here is a track that has been in the works for quite a while now. This was produced as a bonus track for the FF7 Web Series me and Joe were working on in the Summer/Fall that fell apart. I wanted to do a chocobo track but was confronted with the problem that Nobuo has already remixed the track about a billion times himself, so what do you do?! I decided to do a theme and variations type piece. It was originally written for string quartet, but I decided to get XPRTNovice in on it and arrange it for Saxophone quartet. Here is a nearly complete WIP! 1.Theme 2. Rag 3. Jazz 4. Dance/Pop Hope you enjoy! Post thoughts/comments please! https://soundcloud.com/wiesty/variations-de-chocobo-wip3
  22. I wanted to write piano accompaniment for a solo instrument player. I was inspired to do this after jamming to the newest Video Games Live album. https://soundcloud.com/codychavezmusic/street-fight-ii-guile-stage
  23. So I started a new remix for one of my favorite portable Castlevania game. As usual, please give my some feedback, improvements and such. https://soundcloud.com/dantesubicus/castlevania-adventure-2
  24. This is a remix of the good old Brinstar theme from Metroid in a odd meter/jazz style. I used multiple time signature changes to keep things interesting. It's actually a pretty early and unfinished WIP, probably gonna add some solos later. Remix: https://app.box.com/s/bmayeyjkggvgujhh8wii Source: http://youtu.be/T-2sE0Napg0
  25. edit - took The Legend Begins down to work on it if you came here and want to listen to it, you can jam to my Barret remix instead. https://soundcloud.com/christophercollins-3/nobuo-uematsu-barret-laguna
