Instrumental & Vocal Skills (Other)

  1. Super Mario World 'Super Mario's Sleigh Ride' Sorry about not getting to the late Christmas Eve mixes earlier I've been with my family and playing with all of my new stuff. Now, to the ReMix - What can I say? It's just some REALLY well done live video game music action It's really fun to listen to to. The OneUp Mushrooms cover several Super Mario World tunes here. It's a must download Super highly recommended. I respect these guys a whole lot. I've always dreamed of playing live video game music with some buds, and these guys fulfilled my dream, but for themselves. It's all worth it, though!
  2. Lufia II 'Christmas in the Village (Silver Bells)' You can't get much more Christmasy then this. All through this song I'm just waiting for Anne Murray to start up her vocal cords. I can't say that I'm incredibly enthused about this style of music... but it is Christmas so I'll live. Another excellent piece of work for the Christmas holidays. Great work Dale North.
  3. Outrun 'Passing Breeze (Lounge Suite)' This ReMix is great. It's so relaxing. If you've never been into jazzy genres, this will pull you in It's beautifully put together, and just overall really well done. I can't think of anything else to say I just really like this entire mix. Thumbs up to Remorse giving us our (Believe or not) 4th OutRun ReMix. There was another one back when djp was accepting Impulse Tracker (.IT) files, but that's beside the point. Download this mix now
  4. Chrono Trigger 'Town Life in Piano' If there is one thing I really like, its when somebody plays a piano solo, they really know how to put a lot of feeling in it, and they know how to keep it sounding timed right. It's nothing like a 4 on the floor techno beat where the timing is always perfect, because it sounds more like the song has a natural flow to it. Also, I feel that the female human voice and the piano are probably the top two most amazing sounding instruments on the planet. Now, this piece lacks the female voice, so it has the next best thing. And when it is played as beautifully as it is here, it is truly something to admire. This is one hell of a beautiful, ear pleasing piece of work, kLuTz, don't stop now.
  5. Super Mario Bros. 3 'aquacadence' Wow. That's all I can say when I listen to this. Some really damn nice instrumentation and arrangement here. If you like music, you WILL like this mix. It's a guarantee. That is, unless you absolutely hate anything close to orchestral. Regardless, recommended without a doubt! There is simply nothing bad I can say about aquacadence other than that the ReMixer's name is deceiving
  6. Chrono Cross 'Time's New Scar' That's right folks - A piano piece played live by an individual. A talented one for that matter ^^ There are only a few (most not even noticeable) problems due to the fact that it was played live. Definitely recommended to anyone a fan of piano pieces, and definitely those fans of the Chrono series in general.
  7. Chrono Trigger 'Memories Lost in Time' Yay, more Schala, you're probably thinking. Really, it's just as worth of a listen as the other Schala ReMixes out there. The orchestral work is quite exceptional - Beautiful strings, piano, and some winds. Plus, some nice chromatic percussion work is also shown. It blends all quite nicely with the underlying (yet repetitive) percussion. The ride cymbal that continues throughout the bulk of the mix gets on my nerves. I'd rather it not be there ^^ On the other hand, at the end, there is some greatly done percussion work. Though, overall, I found the orchestral instrumentation is worth it all.
