https://youtu.be/VK50lMp9bEM I am finally taking on something from EarthBound! A really cool and unique RPG from the SNES console which is the sequel to the Japan release Mother on NES from 1989. I think the rest of the world gained access to this as late as 2015 through Wii U Vitrual Console but by the name of EarthBound Beginnings. As I mentioned in my teaser post, I feel the similarity between this and the Netflix show Stranger Things are not a coincidence, but who knows. Starting with the intention of just working on the Onett theme and the chill casual feels, I was kind of surprised when the Home Sweet Home theme kept coming to my mind. I thought I should try to combine them both in one song which in my opinion actually worked very well. Also a nice variation from the Onett theme that's originally not very long. 0:00 - Onett's theme 1:08 - Home, Sweet Home 1:58 - Onett's theme (reprise) So did I play this game? Yeah I did, but far from complete. I think I have played it to beat the first boss, but not more than that, which is kind of lame. But it falls into my To-Play-Some-Day list without any doubt. Please tell me your stories about this game and the memories you have connected to it! What do you feel and think of when you listen to this? Thanks for listening and reading!

Someone please make a J-Pop genre remix of this song.

So This is the most recent version. I think it's at a point where I'd consider submitting it. I'd just like to get some final feedback and confirmation. My biggest concern is just that my remix might sound too stiff and mechanical (like as far as the beat and timing). Does it need a bit of humanization? I can't really tell if it does, myself. And if it does, I'm not sure how to go about properly fixing it. Any help at all is appreciated! I'd just like to get some advice and criticism regarding stuff the overall sound quality, synth choices, and general composition. I'd really like to submit this for judging sometime, so I want to make sure I've taken care of all the little details to make it good and polished. A couple specific concerns I had involved the drums and synth I used at 2:10. I want to make sure the drums aren't sounding too repetitive and that transitions between sources are smooth enough. The problem with the synth is just preference, really. Does it actually sound good to other people? I like it, personally, but at the same time, I don't know if it fits the mood of the track. Let me know if anything sounds weird. Any feedback is appreciated. Hey peeps! New poster here (though longtime OCR fan). Recently decided to post my music online and in different places for people to enjoy and I hope that some of you on this forum give my music a chance. Any and all feedback is welcome! I am still experimenting with a lot of different sounds, arrangements, and textures, but my overall goal is to just get people to tap their feet and enjoy some quality beats, game-inspired or not. My game-inspired originals though usually come from random thoughts I get while re-playing some of my favorite games. Hopefully, some of you will appreciate. Track 1 - So I always felt the inside of the Black Omen in Chrono Trigger resembled a synth-wave goth club. So I made what I thought would be the club's titular track. =3 Track 2 - For this one, the idea of Ness Track 3 - This last one, started off as a musical idea when I was messing around with my guitar. Then after developing the song a bit more, it kept reminding me of Cave Story. So I dedicated the song to the game's first obtainable weapon, The Polar Star.

I don't consider myself a musician, but I found myself trying a few things last year, based on a hunch. I wasn't really trying hard, but I've only managed to receive one or two pieces of feedback, in all of that time. Finding a forum feels quite difficult... but my latest bit of music is a game remix, and I know for sure that I can post here for feedback. For a while now I've had a hunch that the Eight Melodies could be played as a canon, and this is my attempt at it. I don't care what kind of feedback I get, as I simply need to know if what I'm doing is interesting. Though I'll point out that I have practically no experience in music and its software, so the mixing is probably bad. You are also free to skip the first 24 seconds of this song – that portion sounds deliberately bad, and is there to highlight how I've improved with Vocaloid. If someone thinks this is interesting enough to submit to OCReMix, I'll replace the intro. Otherwise, I don't really plan on submitting it at all. I think it mostly works. After the standard time-delayed canon, I removed the canon on a whim to reveal that it's still (mostly) in harmony. I then lead out with a proportional canon, and... I think it still works? This mix is very early on at the time of this post and is actually missing some things I wanted to do with it, but I'd also like to know if it's really worth pursuing. This is actually a project that's been sitting on my hard drive in various forms (all of them very unfinished) since around 2009, I think? I feel like it needs some countermelody right now; being locked into the same chord progression the whole track is kind of boring, it's WAY too close to the original piece in a lot of ways, and production hasn't even been addressed yet other than some really basic compression and EQing. After listening through a few times I have also just decided that I don't like the drum samples I'm using all that much. Plus there's a section where I just kind of randomly noodled on a keyboard and it doesn't make a ton of sense. Oh well. Thoughts? Link to WIP Original theme

I love EarthBound and the music it has. Unfortunately, if it ever came around to me trying to remix every EarthBound song, I can't say I'd enjoy doing so. Saturn Valley in particular isn't that interesting to me, but for some reason, I figured I'd give it a shot. Original Remix
