Nekofrog
UPDAT April 17th 2008 #2: I recorded the vocal melody that I need just to give potential people an idea of what they're in for. www.metalfrog.org/music/CrocHighRange.mp3 It's a harmonizing vocal melody meant to evoke a melancholy defeat. ---- UPDATE April 17th 2008 : Project update: The tune is almost completely done being recorded from a musical aspect. I'd put it at 90% complete, as there are still some parts I want to go back to and fix (such as at 1:49 where it's just the open triplets over and over). Also, some of the panning is off at the end of the song, and there is a bit of clipping in the Bramble part. Other than those issues, and one riff I'm still trying to work into it, it's mostly done. But I've decided that I want clean vocals over the Bramble part, a layered harmonized part that echoes failure and remorse. I haven't written the lyrics yet, but I will in the next day or so. So I need a male voice that can reach relatively high registers (we're not talking high pitched nasally stuff though). As an example, Periphery's "Juggernaut Inertia": http://www.myspace.com/periphery The clean part at the beginning is the type of thing I'm going for in it. Here's the tune in its (almost) completed form: http://www.metalfrog.org/music/Crocodile_CacophanyNoVox.mp3 ------------- I am cutting and pasting this from my DKC2 Project WIP -- yes, this is for the project currently underway. New version, and a call for help! I've decided to turn this into a death metal spoof, including lyrics. Unfortunately, I do not have the capabilities to record vocals, so I'm looking for someone who can do something reasonably growly. if not growly, then low/whispery/husky. Think Dethklok here. Please note that right now it is unmixed, the drums are somewhat placeholders, etc. It's rough, I just want the idea out there so that I can get help for what I need. I'm putting two versions up; one which is just the tune as it is so far. The other is with a guitar track in place of where I want the lyrics to be. Each note struck represents a syllable; it's rather straightforward when you actually hear it. Here are the lyrics so far. Please, feel free to edit suggestions, because I am no lyricist at all. Remember, I want them to be humorous and from the view of K. Rool. Here is JUST THE SONG: http://media.putfile.com/DKC2-No-Lyric Here is the LYRIC TEMPLATE: http://media.putfile.com/DKC2-Lyric Bananas x25 (from the first discordant notes, Ba-na-nas over and over from :02 to :28 Verse (starting at :28 Your bananas all belong to me Hear this yellow fruit decree Find them all where they may be Shake that tall banana tree Delicious golden yellow jewels Should not belong to apish fools Forward, march, bring us glory Steal their fruit to further the story Break (starts at 1:03) Yum yum yum, potassium Yum yum yum, potassium Yum yum yum, potassium Yum yum yum, potassium It then goes into a brief melody switch to the Bramble tune which is lyric-less. Drake5017
Really sorry about the delay, lots of papers due and stuff and for some reason my new computer is lagging the recording by like a 10th of a second so everything is not syncing well for me. Ill try to get something over as soon as possible. Once again sorry.
DjSammyG
Neko, I'm a tenor who can sing baritone and fake bass. Although my voice fits squarely into the hair metal style and not the death metal style, I'd be happy to try and help in any way that I can. I'm not sure what the melody line that I'd sing would be, though- PM or E-mail me if you're interested in having me help!
Diseased Project
I just want to say that the snare is AWFUL in an otherwise very-much-rocking mix. Seriously, change the snare.
