Xenon Odyssey
This game is amazing. Yet I suck. And apparently I have a controller that has the UP and Start buttons wired together so it randomly pauses. Sam, you need to do a song for them! SoulinEther
If you had a dance pad and a game pad in your hand, this should qualify as extreme mind-boggling exercise. This shit is hard... more like, I fail epically. Me and my gamecube controller.
jmr
Awesome. Extremely hard, but awesome.

SoulinEther
This game makes me wish I had the software necessary to run it... But why? the question shouldn't be about software (they provide you with links to NES emulators) - the question should be: do you have the hardware (real gamepad) and the skills to master it? jmr
This game makes me wish I had the software necessary to run it...There are a few NES emulators linked on the d-pad hero page. I'd recommend Nestopia. It's not like emulation is a forbidden topic on OCR or anything... (edit: that emulator list is kinda out of date, but still.) JCvgluvr
I've never emulated before, and I have a certain apprehension towards the idea of trying it out...*sheepish grin*
SoulinEther
I've never emulated before, and I have a certain apprehension towards the idea of trying it out...*sheepish grin* Well, your only other option is to buy an NES, find a way to put this game on a cartridge and tour the USA with the fruits of your dreams on a Radio Flyer - some parts made in japan. Sorry but this is dying for a fix. I've never masturbated before, and I have a certain apprehension towards the idea of trying it out...*sheepish grin* fixed. (though there's nothing wrong with that apprehension. trust me)
LuketheXjesse
If I didn't [censored because big brother is watching] I'd be pretty miserable. Also guitar hero Nes. Also there's games I would never had played if not for emulation.
SoulinEther
Damn it i have to save this topic from my derailment.!! Sweet Child o' Mine is easier for me to play on a real keyboard than on this gamepad :/ The dev(s) asked a question on the blog regarding the difficulty of the game. Personally I think it's a bit challenging, especially since there's no easy/medium difficulty levels to really introduce you to the concept of the game like DDR and Guitar Hero each have. PrototypeRaptor
This might be the most frustrating game I've ever played. There's 10 different possibilities for each button! ARRRGHHHHH However, it was all worth it for the most awesome arrangement of harder, better, faster, stronger in the history of awesome. I'll be coming back to this. Murmeli Walan
So yeah, I pretty much mirror what other people have said: the game is awesome, but it's pretty damn hard. I can't get a single medal on anything. The 8bit covers are awesome (in fact, I had downloaded SnoBro's Sweet Child O' Mine NES rom just last month before I'd even heard of this game), but what's up with the a-Ha track? Maybe I'm not such a big fan of that band, but that's a pretty obscure song to go with. I could understand not wanting to use Take On Me, but how about The Living Daylights? I like that one. But yeah, I sure hope they get on board and make Dpad Hero II even more awesome.
sephfire
I started Sweet Child o' Mine thinking: "Those wimps. This isn't hard." Then the notes with the arrows started showing up, and I was like: "Oh."
