Sam Ascher-Weiss Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 this is an album preview for the upcoming album "music of games, alternate reality edition" I thought it would be funny to replace the themes used in the NES version of tetris with other less appropriate songs that are also "russian" by some reckoning =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I5McvFKsk8 Quote
Red Shadow Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 how true is the title for this video? the closer to "yeah i really did" the better Quote
RushJet1 Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 love the Fiddler cover(s) going on in the first half waaay too much edit: posted in this thread that appeared here now.. thought i was in the other thread, or maybe the comment got moved? Quote
ZealPath Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I'm not sure the musical aspect meant a whole lot to me, but I REALLY feel like playing some Tetris now! This is not necessarily a bad thing! Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 This makes me want to play Tetris. It also reminds me of playing Petruska in marching band...and how disorienting it is to learn the set changes to such wonky music...then the honor band went and did the firebird suit during the concert season. Man I want to play tetris! Also the rest of the series is pretty neat and fun to listen to, I love chiptunes. Quote
LuketheXjesse Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I heart your stuff and all, but HOW do you find the time to make so much in so little time? It's like there's a song a week with you. Have you just practiced so much that you can pump out stuff quickly? Or do you just have a ton of free time? Quote
halc Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I heart your stuff and all, but HOW do you find the time to make so much in so little time? It's like there's a song a week with you. OverCoat Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I heart your stuff and all, but HOW do you find the time to make so much in so little time? It's like there's a song a week with you A song a week is not that hard. Actually, there was a point in my life where a song a week was me being unproductive. Quote
Alexis Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 HELL YEAH, Fiddler on the Roof tetris. That's awesome. Also, was that Firebird in one of the later ones? So good. Oh my gosh and Rite of Spring too??? You're my hero. Is that Fiddler medley available to download somewhere? Quote
Sam Ascher-Weiss Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 very shortly I'll be posting mp3 and nsf links in all the video descriptions, I'll post here when it's done Quote
LuketheXjesse Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 A song a week is not that hard. Actually, there was a point in my life where a song a week was me being unproductive. gee, I guess I'm slow...maybe metal music just takes longer??? Quote
KyleJCrb Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 gee, I guess I'm slow...maybe metal music just takes longer??? 3 days. 2 days. 1 day. Don't make excuses. Quote
LuketheXjesse Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 3 days. 2 days. 1 day. Don't make excuses. I've spent a little over 24 hours on Moon over Castle in the course of 4-5 days and I only have 1:30 done... Worst case scenario I submit a unfinished version to FBRC and submit the finished version to...well, use your imagination... (no not ocr, at least not yet) Quote
Gollgagh Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I want the NSF for the third song from your SMB Alternate Reality badly Quote
Sam Ascher-Weiss Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 ah, neat thing about the smb1 video, I managed to fit all four songs onto a single multitrack nsf, kind of like a real soundtrack Quote
