Grab reapers Linear Phase EQ. It's a bit ridiculous probably for what you want, but it works well.

Check out reapers other VSTs too.

You can buy the "Juice Pack" by Imageline, which is all of FL Studio effects in VST form for other DAW usage.

I do use ableton as main but i switch to FL and protools for some things.

there are loads of decent free EQs in the KVR database too.

i'm posting because i just tried the EngineersFilter from that site and it's pretty crazy/versatile.

the other one looks more suited for standard EQ tasks.

EDIT: ok, only just read that you need more bands. technically the EngineersFilter isn't an EQ but a filter (duh), but the functions are so weird that it also works as kind of an experimental EQ.

I never got anything from kvr i think, i will check some of there vst's out.

If you're looking to plop down the money then Fabfilter's Pro-Q is excellent. Stillwell Audio's plugins are also worth a look-see considering the price (they're donation-based) and the sound.
