Chiwalker
I hope some people here will help me - just went to UMF 2011 and got turned on to Pendulum, and now I want moar... Shtuff like this: The extensive bass pads make me
Nabeel Ansari
Have you tried Pendu- *Shot* You can try Zircon's "Mass Media Constant". The drums aren't as thick in timbre as Pendulum's stuff, but it's still good content with obvious jazz influences everywhere. Each song has its own flavor and it never gets boring to listen to. Thick pads, piano solos, and a whole lot percussion. An album more than worthy of a 21st Century electronica playlist.
Chiwalker
Yeah! Oh def point out the ocr remixes in dnb b/c I have dl'ed so much of this music, but never looked for the genre till now.
PrototypeRaptor
Noisia is one of my favorite bands, period. They've done all sorts of electronic genres, from DnB to house - but their DnB is extra ridiculous: Also, Dieselboy is a standard, very "generic-dnb" sound. You've probably heard his stuff as background music: as far as dnb remixes go, there is mine... but it's nowhere near Noisia/Pendulum levels. zircon is awesome too, check out all of his mixes, most of them have some of that crystal method breakbeat/dnb style
Tex
Oh def point out the ocr remixes in dnb b/c I have dl'ed so much of this music, but never looked for the genre till now. http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00900/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01203/ My favorite kind of DnB is less dark and more uplifting, it has stuff like fast string stabs and electric pianos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=203FfH4ODPM
Zen Frazier
I will second (third?) the zircon "Mass Media Constant" recommendation, and add to the list one of my favorite independent electronic artists, Oscillist. His work is very good and way underrated IMHO. http://oscillist.bandcamp.com/ Side note... One of zircon's Mass Media Constant tracks, Bushido Blade, is the opening track on our EFP Vol 3 compilation. Track 2 is some great dnb from Oscillist. And no, I did NOT do the tracklisting, it's just coincidence. Click on my sig there for details on the album...
Flexstyle
You'll have to wait for some currently in-progress albums to come out before you hear any VGM dnb remixes from me (and there are a nice lot of 'em), but I'd like to think my original DnB stuff is quite enjoyable too: http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/imago-deo http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/a-sense-of-urgency http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/murder-instinct http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/triumph-of-innocence http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/eye-of-the-storm-part-i-escape The last two are the newest ones of mine, and therefore the ones with the best production values. Also +1 to Noisia (freaking brilliant, have you seen ?) and I'd throw in a nod to Terravita as well ( ). Other favorites include and , just to name a couple.Lastly, I'd recommend OCR's own Zircon with his Mass Media Constant album. Quite worth the buy. scatterbrain
If you wanna head back to the roots of your original post- this here is the kind of thing being replicated: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRIA66Mq9EU For more melodic content, check High Contrast, London Elektricity and B-Complex and the Hospital Records and Spearhead Records labels. If you want newer stuff with slicker production, but still maintain the bassweight, check out artists such as Misanthrop and Phace and the label Neosignal. As for dubstep, here's a little shameless self-promotion - a mix I did recently of deeper, more spaced-out tunes. Thread / Mix For heavier dubstep, check out Vex'd, Distance, Goth-Trad and some of Skream's material. Another useful link to keep up-to-date on bass music in general is FactMAG - which features free, twice-weekly mixes from a variety of top-notch DJs and producers as well as info on new/forthcoming releases, gigs, etc.

Hy Bound
I'm liking Hecq and Matta right now. They mostly do dubstep but their DnB stuff is pretty great too.
