GSO
does the first person POV make you want to throw up(I play the PC version and I almost barfed) am I the only one that has this problem? comments very welcome.
lazygecko
More than likely this is a FOV problem. A bad 1st person FOV can make people naesous, and has been reported as far back as Half-Life. Since the 360 popularised first person games on consoles and made those games be designed with consoles in mind first, PC versions are often configured to have FOV settings far below what is optimal for PC monitors and resolutions. Usually they're in the 60s range, when in reality they should be up around 80-90 or even higher depending on the monitor. In Skyrim you can just open the console and type in fov followed by a number to change it (experiment with the ones I mentioned). You could also edit the .ini to permanently change the FOV. Annie Felis
Yes. First-person views can often make me feel sick, yet some like Metroid Prime I can play just fine. It depends on the game, how brightly lit or brightly colored things are. Then again I had problems with the Ecco games too. Those made me sick too. Vertigo from games sucks. Esperado
When i FIRST set up skyrim i got a bit of a headache. Morrowind did that to me when i first played it too. Generally though, i feel fine when playing, unless ive been at it for a few hours and then my eyes hurt a bit. lazygecko is probably on point though. kitty
I know someone who gets sick/nauseous at most games, first person or otherwise. From what I've read, it's not too uncommon for people to get motion sick from video games.
Gollgagh
I've never had any motion sickness from games (or really in general) but low FOVs do annoy the hell out of me
Ryan Jobson
Skyrim was my first POV RPG. Argle
Some first person games make me nauseous. Particularly the ones with pronounced up-and-down motion. Our brains kinda ignore that IRL, so first person games shouldn't overdo it. I've not played Skyrim but I never liked the first person view in Oblivion, I always used 3rd person.
