Jorito
Thanks to OA and PlanarianHugger for helping in having a proper final round, with a final battle and a nice closing track, I dig that a lot! Interesting too see OA's take on the final round so different from mine, with different sources and a different mood PlanarianHugger
PlanarianHugger
I had a lot of fun with this. I think I grew as a musician from it. So thanks for the competition and the challenge. I'd do it again but maybe with a longer source next time. You can only stretch out one so many ways. Jorito
MindWanderer
24 hours left to vote on the final battle! Will Dracula go down quietly into the grave, or will Simon succumb to the curse? You decide! Jorito
MindWanderer
Sorry for the delay, I was sick yesterday. By a single vote, Jorito is the winner! Simon succumbs to the curse, and, though Dracula is defeated, he'll be back far sooner than his usual 100-year cycle... perhaps for CCoI-2! A huge thank you to everyone who participated, especially those who stuck it out until the end. I don't think I'll be following through on the plan to make an album out of this--there were several great remixes, which I'd love to see polished up and submitted to the site, but I didn't get the sense that enough folks were sufficiently stoked about doing so to make an album out of it. However, I am doing CastleMania, so if anyone has any ideas for making pro wrestling theme songs out of Castlevania music, check out the project thread! Jorito
Phew, that was a close finish! It's nice that Dracula wins for a change Wonder what the final round would have been like with easier to use source tracks, considering both me and OA had issues getting started. Still, pretty happy with the tracks I created myself, enjoyed quite a few of the other entries and overall had a lot of fun again (and quite a bit of stress ). Sad to see the album idea go, but understandable. I'll be polishing up the tracks I made and submit them regardless (currently waiting for some recordings). Thanks for organising, MindWanderer and until next compo! Chernabogue
OceansAndrew
GG To Jorito, sorry I didn't have an epic track for you to battle against, but I was just mentally done between this and the <shameless promotion>Upcoming OverClocked University Album</shameless promotion>. Your track was great and you definitely deserved the win. Jorito
