Siamey Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Hey guys, I decided to work for 1 hour on a mix and then post it. I actually got pretty far, and Im proud of the drum processing I did. There are 2 parts in the file, cause i didnt write the transition yet, so dont think its gonna be like that in the finished version. http://www.siamey.com/music/doodle/siamey_castle.mp3 EDIT: New version with some more drum processing and crud: http://www.siamey.com/music/doodle/siamey_castlev2.mp3 Quote
Zephyr Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Haha, for some reason that bass sound in the beggining just makes me laugh. That driving bass thing that comes in sounds a tad out of tune on it's second set of notes if you know what I mean. But for one hour this is very good. Keep at it, make the melody go somewhere. I love both your other mixes so I'd love to hear this a little later on. Quote
Blackwinged Saron Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 sounds good to me. wish it was a bit longer. and im trying to listen to it without subconsciously hearing it next to the monstrous turtles mix. i like it a lot. Quote
CC Ricers Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Sounds like one of the tracks from Jak X, when you're navigating through the menus...Guess you can say I like my breakbeats gated and filtered. It still has many empty little parts, but keep going at it! Quote
The Derrit Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 i like this, in general its really good. i like the drum part at 40: best, the rest of the drum is ok but it lacks depth imo. i like the general premise though, the echo-y lead is nice. keep at it, this will go somewhere. Quote
Shining Mirage Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I really like this piece. I'm having personal difficulty filtering out the sounds of Monstrous Turtles in my head, but it's still hella-good. That second bass kick I'd say it's a bit off, but shit, you pulled this in an hour??? You might as well finish it. Great job so far. Quote
Pavos Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Ah it's too bad you kill of the build up when you get to the melody with the fast toneladder (about 2/3 of the mix... why doesn't quicktime just show the time of hte song), because this mix needs a climax. The rest sounds good Quote
