FiremanJoe Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I'm feeling a bit stupid today; I know I should be able to do this. =/ To the point, I'm trying to convert the RotC .wavs to .mp3 - I just burnt a CD (Which I'll probably give to my cousin; I'm educating him =P) and tried to rip it with EAC/LAME, but I got sync errors on the last three tracks. No idea what's up with that. I tried dragging+dropping straight into lame.exe, which works but only gave me 128kbps files and I want vbr files. Anyway I'm feeling pretty tired and I know I've forgotten to try something but I don't remember what it is... Quote
Majin GeoDooD Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 If you have the WAVs on your computer, and have LAME.exe, download the LAME frontend RazorLame. It lets you choose whatever settings for the mp3s you want. Quote
FiremanJoe Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Thanks very much, I'll give it a go. =) Quote
The Coop Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Try Audacity. It's a rather nice freeware converter than can also make ogg vorbis files. Quote
FiremanJoe Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Yeah, I've got Audacity. That's probably what I didn't think of before. =P I'm aware of .ogg, and it's kind of the whole purpose of this exercise- I want/need .mp3 for my mp3 player. (Also, .ogg was the original format of RotC, so if I did want it, I'd have downloaded the .oggs, not .wavs) Thanks for the reminder though, Coop. Quote

That's why Coop said also; ogg is simply a bonus option. Quote
FiremanJoe Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Thanks for the help, Imagery. Razorlame is working a treat. Quote
Salluz Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Well, for .wav to .mp3, there's always cool edit pro 2.0 or better, and it's as easy as hell (even though I can still go into detail). For m4a, use iTunes or Real, and I believe that you can figure out the rest by reading the above. Quote
Draginvry Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 You could use the roundabout way of Audacity. But for pure conversion purposes I would recommend dBpowerAMP Quote
chanq Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I'm sure you don't need any more help now but I always convert my songs to mp3 with iTunes. It's easy and really fast. Quote
