Maco70
http://www.acrosstheuniverse.com/ Anyone else excited. Or Anyone lucky enough to be in the selected theaters for early release? I just got the sound track, looking for someone whom I can relate with 'ere.
Xenon Odyssey
I saw it already. Absolutely amazing. Everything that defined the 60's was jammed into this movie and glorified. Favorite part was when Strawberry Fields Forever was played.
Fritz the Cat
Eh. I don't like musicals: 'We're running out of plot; let's have a dance routine!'
Hale-Bopp
Sweet! It looks like Moulin Rouge meets the Beatles. I can dig it. EDIT: I was playing some clips for my wife and it looks like we're gonna go see it this weekend. I totally have to experience this movie in a theater. djpretzel
Ooooh! I love finding out about cool stuff that I SHOULD be hip to via OCR forums. Huge fan of Julie Taymor for one reason: Titus. It's probably my favorite Shakespeare film, has a badass soundtrack, and is directed with absolute conviction but also extreme deviance and, I'd argue, genius. Gotta let my sister know... very psyched.

Hale-Bopp
I gotta say that I'm all about modernized, super produced arrangements of classic rock/pop songs. Beatles tunes are especially perfect for this. The way they're written leaves them open to so many kinds of interpretation. I get excited just thinking about it. Alpine Flame
I liked the "Hey Jude" part of the movie... I got a little misty eyed... but that movie is made of epic. They should have had an intermission in the middle, just like in the old movies. I got the soundtrack to it. Yaay!

JJT
supposedly taymor lost final cut of the film....which might explain why it felt a little disjointed at times. definitely got chills during "strawberry fields" and "because." its amazing how they could use something like 30 songs from the Beatles' catalogue and i still feel shorted.
