Rexy
The People's Remix Competition 109 PRCv5-5 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Previously, Theory of Nonexistence took his first PRC win in a Lemmings related contest, and if anything showed, practically *anything* could overpower anyone who claims more last place wooden spoons than the usual (!). Still, it's time to focus on the present. We've gone back a gaming generation, even though we're still with Nintendo. This time, we swapped green haired rodents for all things in the mallard family... and the evil animation corporation that is Disney. As you may or may not already know, DuckTales is THE greatest NES game ever made. Or at least I think so. Also, I think there's plenty of material here to reinterpret. So yeah, can't wait to hear the mixes of this song :3 'nuff said, get remixin'. Duck Tales - The Himalayas MIDI | MP3 | NSF (track 6) This better not kill PRC like the same series killed its Animé equivalent XD Whichever, we need more Duck Tales love. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your image to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by NEXT SATURDAY, December 15th at 4:59 am Eastern US Time. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. Doulifée's PRC Archives! If you need help with hosting your mix, contact myself or Doulifée, and we'll help you out.
Bundeslang
I remember the game, it sure is a good choice (haven't seen a single remix, not even at Newgrounds). Hopefully some good songs will show up.
OneUp
Ah, quackalicious choice! I'm so in.
Chickenwarlord
I have a pretty experimental jazz take on this one n the works.

Chickenwarlord
Not the good type of jazz. Like, avant garde piano jazz.

Rexy
Well, what a surprise. No entries and the deadline has come around. It looks as if we'll be extending the deadline again.
OneUp
Plz do, I'm working on it, and thought the deadline was on Sunday...
Rexy
Nope, it's usually meant to be at least a full 180 hours from the initial starting date. Still, this is kind of puzzling me over why previous PRCs have become all this sluggish.
Rexy
We have one entry, but it's still not enough for a competition. I'll apply another 24 hour extension, but if by the end we don't get another entry, Chickenwarlord will win by default.
Kyle Nin
There's two now. Come on people, how about one more? I'd like to see at least one competition (from the fifth year) to have more than two entries.
Rexy
Right, so we have enough for a competition. You know what to do - visit the compo link and fill out the form. Which of the two mixes do you prefer? Place them in the ranking grid and state a reasoning for it. Contestants don't need to vote as they will cancel their votes out. The winner of PRC109 (ToN) has a vote that counts twice. You have until Thursday, December 20th at 4:59AM EST to make your vote. The winner gets to choose the source tune for PRC110! I know I've only been here for a year or so, but would you be interested in collaborating with me to make it happen? I don't think I've ever seen you enter. I don't think I've ever seen you enter. I've entered twice: PRC63 (Metal Slug 2) and PRC64 (The Adventures of Rad Gravity). But I haven't really done anything for several months now. But I do vote in this contest.

Kyle Nin
A little before my time, indeed. Would you be interested in collabing sometime this month on a PRC? I probably won't be able to. But you go right ahead by yourself. You're kind of holding these contests together.

Nutritious
Voted Sorry I haven't been able to get involved lately, guys. Schedule's pretty tight now and I just have enough "music time" to get a few other things done.
Rexy
The voting stage is done. Which one of you varmints went off with Scrooce MacDuck's hard earned fortune? Total number of votes - 3 (wut?) Total number of mixes - 2 Highest possible score - 6 This is getting more pathetic... oh well. You choose your winner:- And the winner of PRC109 is OneUp with 6 points! After all that promise we end up with the weediest vote count in the history of the competition. But what's done is done - OneUp, you managed to pull through with this one, and it's now up to you to make a decision on what source tune should be used for the next PRC. Remember, it can be any song as long as it's not covered on OCR (site projects don't count). Thanks very much for your time, gentlemen. I'll see you again tomorrow provided we got a source tune together.
OneUp
Woho! Finally my turn. Big thx to you who voted, and especially to Chickenwarlord who keep this going. I've got a few sources that I've always wanted to be remixed, but since OCR have so few contestants, I'll rather see many contributions. What kind of source do you think will bring most folk? Chickenwarlord
To all who were trying to figure out the 'structure' of my piece: avante garde jazz prides itself on a lack of structure.
Lemonectric
A relatively popular game with few/no remixes is probably a good bet. And make sure the song isn't too hard to interpret. But whatever. Use your best judgement. I mean, I chose Paper friggin' Mario a while back and there were only two entries (besides my own bonus). Christmas break has started, so there's a higher possibility of me entering. But who knows. It all depends on the source.
Theory of N
wow, worst possible time to get grounded. Sorry bout not being able to vote. I'll try to enter again next time.
