m68030 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Here's a dark ambient track I wrote in my spare time at work over the past few weeks as an experiment with 5.1 surround mixing. At around 34 minutes long, this track takes the familiar Tetris song Korbeiniki and stretches it into a brooding and unfamiliar soundscape centered on the events at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. EDIT: Added a new mirror. Fixed original. http://stc.gotdns.com/store/CotMM-Korbeiniki-BattleofChernobyl.ac3 http://brahms.servebbs.net/music/CotMM-Korbeiniki-BattleofChernobyl.ac3 If you need an AC3 codec, one can be found (along with Winamp Plugin) at http://ac3filter.net/ Enjoy. Rehevkor Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 This is awesome. Ambient and 5.1 surround go fit together naturally, being what they are. Good use of the surrounds and the LFE channel, and it varies enough over its length to keep things interesting. By the way, CotMM, you have to immediately make a Silent Hill ambient mix like this. Like, right now. DO EET. Quote
Red Shadow Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 holy balls, it's cotmm everybody is coming back all at once Quote
Harmony Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Around 25:00 when the lead fell into almost a slow motion droning, the haunting rendition of the theme almost felt familiar…until the note at 26:47 hung for what seemed like an eternity of unresolved melody. What an enveloping piece. Nice work CotMM. Quote
