I forgot to give feedback to this, i'd better do it now. Here's some thoughts about each track, i'll try and keep it on the brief side:
HarlemHeat360 - Really digging the string work in this, makes it quite bouncy and cute. Great use of the electric piano, really makes it very funky. The drums are a bit on the quiet side, almost in the background. The timpani hits aren't utilized in here, but that's fine. I dig how you develop it though, the drums really up it's game in the second instance of the main melody, so my comments become a little redundant. The guitar is crazy in this, the harmonics and glide notes are insane, did you play this? The mixing could be finessed here, some moments were quite loud or quiet, but that's to taste. All in all, this was hugely chaotic and fun, definately made me smile, congrats on your win! Well done!
Ding888Ding - Damn this is full on Happy Hardcore. The kick is quite powerful, almost drowns out the rest of the instruments lol. The melody is cute as always, but then again this is the original piece talking. I dig the fills in this, and the structure, it enhances from a simple chord progression into a full DDR madness, it's really great. The melody does take a while to get in, but when it does, it's super satisfying. I dig how it fits in the fast Happy Hardcore vibes. It's a shame you don't utilise the rest of the piece, it can make it a little repetitive as a result, and a little under developed. The problem for me, is when a new section comes in, you take a while to develop it before it blooms, so it sounds like your stretching it a bit to maximise 3 minutes of music. Still though the whole thing was banging. Yeah the kick is a little powerful, perhaps on the loud side, but it still didn't diminish the whole fast and goofy fun this piece is providing, great sounds and melodies, well done!
Hleet - Honestly listening to this, the volume is perfect, i don't see the need to make it any louder, especially as sometimes that can induce a bit of unwarranted clipping that you might not need. Whilst your rhythm is lovely here, it prefer the original rhythm in my opinion, as it had different fills and a half time and double time part that really amplifies a bit of the sort of eccentric nature of this piece. The rhythm in this is very repetitive, looping a single1-2 bar of something. The melodies are super pretty here though, great choice of synth and drum sounds. To make this stand out, i would add an ending, instead of it just stopping, and maybe keep the rhythm of the original, to avoid it sounding a bit...wonky. Still though i loved this, and it had a lot of lovely moments, you did great! Well done!
I'll try and remember to keep on top of voting you guys! It's becoming hard, because there's only really been 2 entries total in most PRC, and i usually account for one of them, so voting has really become redundant, but if there is a few, i'll try and get a few words in. Well done all! See you next round!
