  1. Definitely. Its the structure thats the issue. If that gets bigger, so do the problems.
  2. Rozovian should have the dignity to be an accepted Ocremixer before people are ripping him off. Gah, this whole topic leaves a wrong taste in my mouth.
  3. To cop out an introduction, social networking is really starting to bother me nowadays. It has been for a while but it wasn't until today that those ominous feelings and molasses malaise have built to a point where I could form it into words suitable for a large post. I think its either the advent of Twitter, the fact that my Mom is on Facebook, or something much darker that has yet to emerge, but I'm seeing the overall shift in basic inter-human communication to rely more heavily on these networks as troubling. Forget the overcommercialisation, spam, porn and virus shit, I'm starting to see the Myspace/Facebook "addiction" enter into the human condition and rewrite the rules of communication, among other major functions of human networking. Is anyone else seeing this? I don't do social networking anymore. I have a Myspace music page that is half-personal but thats it. I had to get rid of my personal Myspace and Facebook accounts for several reasons: A. It was eating up a lot of personal time and getting nowhere. B. I was hacked last Christmas. Manually. C. There was nothing remotely social about it (which I'll get to soon). D. Every major problem I've had in the last few years was as a result of social networking. That was back in September when I pretty much killed J. L. online, but there's a great irony that comes from knowing that a self-inflicted gunshot means you actually get to dodge bullets later. Since then, I've avoided all the recent newstories of company managers looking for you online, probing your account for information, firing you for personal conversations, turning information over to police and then having the nerve to friend request you. Would you like a copy of my house key, too? And I don't even want to bring up how fake it is to set up a business account for, lets say Bar-B-Que Restaurant, like a personal account and add friends and hope it increases business. Nobody gives a shit, yet many professional advertising places will drain a client of money to build these accounts that are supposed to save money on advertising. http://www.businessinsider.com/2008/9/22-of-employers-check-your-facebook-profile-when-they-re-looking-to-hire-you-that-s-it-. Its 22% right now. It will be 38% before 2011 (my estimate). I will hopefully dodge these bullets in the future. Part two comes across as I come my only Myspace page looking for ideas where else to take it. I see 66 friends (down from over 100) on my friends page. Not one talks to me. Not one cares that I am there. I'm ok with this, but why am I still there? What the hell does it mean to be a friend on someone's friend page if I only exist as a number? I'm autistic - almost to the point where I need a helmet but evidently not enough to excuse my inability to communicate. Its hard enough to get what people are saying in real life, its fucking impossible on these networks. You are probably not autistic, but you know what I'm talking about. You sent them a message. Last Week. They have been online and they have even read it, why are you still waiting for an answer? Oh, they didn't have time? You're online 5 times a day and you don't have time? Its one thing to act differently online than in real life, but communication is still the same. It follows the same rules of relaying information and messages to people. If you ask a question, are you not entitled to an answer? What if you asked me to my face and I just walked by? This is not communication. This is not what social networking is for.... is it? Online, you are not entitled to shit. You do not get to see facial reactions, you do not get to see context, your only communication with someone electronically rests on a text message they are not entitled to acknowledge, must less respond. As we rely more and more on these sites, the way in which communication flows on there will substitute the decorum of communication we should be using and typical of our race, we won't see it coming until the damage is done. Am I just not good at social networking, or is anyone else seeing a disturbing trend arising? Absolutely nothing good has come out of social networking for me, and now that more and more of the whole world is getting into it... Oh man, I'm not liking where this is going. I want to open the floor to possible interest and debate now.
  4. Considering how fucked up that topic is, I'd say you gave the right answer. Hell, you could've taken it even further.
  5. I thought you WERE Edgecrusher.
  6. Its Chill Penguin from Mega Man X and it's not so much a remix as it is a re-instrumentation. Half-decent at best.
  7. This is potentially offtopic (I say that because its potentially ontopic) but very few of us are John Williams and the art world gets twice as hard for every second that passes into the future. Getting anywhere, and I fucking mean ANYWHERE artistically is all about luck nowadays. If you're a new author, the only chance you have to get your book on a shelf anywhere is to go through Vanity Publishing. If you want to get your record out legitimately, you have to murder one of the artists on that label because every legitimate label, no matter how big or small, has every seat filled in that venue. Acting? Forget about it. I have to half wonder if the oversaturation of willing and potential artists and the lack of available channels for the real artists to flow is connected to piracy somehow. Hell, who wants to be a fucking artist anyway? You put heart and soul and whole years of your life into something you think is meaningful (like this rant for example) that is either ignored by all walks of life, or stolen, ripped off and degraded by thousands of internet douchebags. The modern artist simply cannot win and is forced to swallow dreams in favor of a job that actually pays something. I, personally, would love to see John Williams to flip burgers 9-5 and see what its like to try to do music in this day and age when you're young and not internationally known.
  8. Something new from me or your partner in regards to the track I was doing already? How many tracks are you looking for for your manga anyway?
  9. ...Course, if we LET the industry fall apart, we could take charge to build it up the way it was supposed to be before all this experimenting and pirating fucked it up in the first place. It likely wouldn't work that way, just a thought.
  10. East Tennessee. Not too far away from Big Giant Circles, JtDL, some other people... birthplace of Dolly Parton.
  11. So, am I on this project or not? Am I to work on that track I sent?
  12. This SHMUP should utilize a zapping system too.....
  13. Yeah, I wondered about that. Whose laws actually apply over the international internet? I used to know how that works, but I've long forgotten.
  14. Yes it would be, because people would be using it to copy money, cars, intellectual property, body parts, medical equipment, drugs, hookers, dead relatives, living relatives, aeroplanes, oceans, landmarks, mountains, cars, highways, atom bombs, cyanide tipped halberds and God himself. The sheer weight of everything we crush us whole if we were lucky. If not, the human condition would be completely rewritten and everyone would die of emotional confusion and circle-jerking by the age of 19. And anyway, what purpose does your point serve if its based around a fantasy object that cannot exist?
  15. Who's trying to derail your point?
  16. To be fair, the internet is more powerful than all those things combined. The Internet IS Radio, Cinema, Video, Television, Home Taping..... and then some.
  17. Well UPS sure as shit didn't create them with the intent to distribute freely cheating the artist out of thousands of dollars as well as the record company cost of operations finance plus what it costs to hire people to do that anyway in what would essentially boil down to spite-ing a lot of people you've never even met who've done nothing to you, somewhere between 1,000 miles away, who depend on those sales for no good reason whatsoever. UPS on the other hand is just doing what God put it there to do which is distribute parcels across a large land mass called North America in order to save us the time and trouble to do so and since few carbon-based lifeforms walk in there and blatantly inform the local Postmaster that they are illegally distributing legal objects, they cannot and likely will not break open the parcel to check for grand theft infringment themselves. That is not their job to police, that is not their case to get sued. How and why would anyone go to the trouble to make 1,000 copies, 1,000 friends, and pay that much shipping for something this senseless in the first place? This has no meaning or relevance whatsoever.
  18. Let the great war on information and intellectual property begin.
  19. So? Some of us look forward to dying on our birthdays.
  20. Prove it and I'll get the check ready.
  21. Balls Nuts! If you can't even muster the effort to come up with a better title than that (and Edit: doesn't count) why should I go to the effort when I could clog my toilet with Abraham Lincoln instead?
  22. Good luck with that, If my money is going anywhere on this site, its going to APRIL SUPPORT OCR 2009 or whatever.
  23. Wasn't it his birthday already? Or who am I thinking of? /Is inventing his own rock genre. The complete antithesis of Metal. It will be called WOOD. And it will be rock. Edit: And any electronic offshoot of this will be called WOODCORE.
  24. Well, it clearly needs a lot of production work, but keep this for the day when that becomes available. The song itself is actually quite good and the singing really is quite good too.
