And pretty good for that time.

Exploding household items... This is probably not the best idea for Sony...
-
I have to say I rather liked the batarang conrtoller. This just shows that Sony, being afraid of trying 2 new things, only went back to their old design out of "comfort."

And the Cell processors are formed from the tears of a thousand weeping rape victims. Each. And the vibration in the controllers? They were made by vibrating fairies. WHICH ARE NOW EXTINCT.

Blue-Ray LEDs are made with the souls of aborted fetuses.

and the Wii releases with 4 millions and aims for 7 if I am not mistaken.

And SMG, and MP3... It won't be easy for the PS3 unless they can bump up production.
-
It was a different game. The PS2 faced a dying dreamcast and... well... nothing for about 18 months. The PSX was a whole new system, shortages are expected, same thing happens with every first entry in the console business. Or in any business, you can never guess popularity accuratly. This time, the shortage is a lot less positive. It means that any parent unable to buy the PS3 for christmas will settle on a 360. It means that 3rd parties will be annoyed that it reduces their potencial market by that much. And it may as well strike a killing blow to blue-ray technology. By now we should be showered in blue ray ads, and the PS3 should come as the first cheap blue ray player. Instead, HD seems to be a lot further ahead. It's Betamax all over again.
-
How will the PS3 sell well if they cannot put more than 500 000 units on the shelves? To sell consoles you have to make consoles, and a half million release will not work that well. Especially if people can still buy other consoles. The 360 managed simply because they were the first.

The other 2 thirds of rogues skills involve dual wielding swords, poisoning, paralyzing, and a flurry of other things to kill their opponent in a 1v1 full health battle. You're a hunter right? I will let you use traps, pets and melee skills, but no ranged attacks, as they are unfair. You have survival skills, you should be right up there meleeing all the time. For heaven's sake, he is a ROGUE. His first skill is BACKSTAB. He has a skilled called AMBUSH. His main ability is STEALTH. To win, a rogue has to make every hit count. Yes, vanish can correct mistakes, but for a rogue to win, he has to calculate every mouvement so that he optimises his output. When your talents are divided in subtlety (to reach a target), assassination (to cause as much damage as possible on a target) and combat (to survive a target that fights back), you are supposed and expected to chose the moment you strike and kill the person as fast as possible. Because for all you know, that mage there can instacast a pyroblast. That priest there will fear/pain you into submission. That warrior will overpower you. And that hunter will trap you. When I explained how to play a rogue to my friend, I told her: "Think before you act. It may seem easy to be a rogue, but in fact, you are up there, meleeing away with about the same armor as a buffed up mage." Even druids have a better armor because they have buffs. The only one truly worse off damage mitigation wise than a rogue is the warlock, and they make up with a hellish level of single target damage dealing. Play a rogue before complaining about being ambushed. It's what the class has been built to do.
-
Rogues are just like that. Assassins. A third of their skills are based on hiding, why should the smart rogue not use the wait to his advantage? Should the hunter never lay a trap nor send his pet to attack? Should the mage never use frost nova? Should the priest never shield? Should the shammy not use totems? The list is long. A rogue is an assassin. It is supposed to come up behind you and open you up when and if you show weakness.
-
Waiting for weakness should be concidered a skill for rogues. Seriously, you have every skills needed to wait in the shadows and attack when you know you will win.

Geoffrey, might I suggest you invest in the Kama Sutra book? -
Hmmm, Contact feels like a sleeper hit. I'm reading about it on Wikipedia and it looks nifty. How does it play anyway? Kinda like Secret of Mana but with touch for menues, or is it touch centered?

Meh, I guess its up to the recording labels... And my very queer yet private side kinda likes Avril Lavigne. OCR suffers from music elitism. As soon as something seems to target a different crowd, people here roll their eyes. Take Linkin Park. I would not buy a CD, but still, I don't hate their music. Heck, some I like to hear on the radio because it changes from hearing the same pop songs over and over. However saying that would brand me as an emo goth wannabe loser.

At this point, they should just delay launch and fix up these issues.
-
They plan to have 900 units in Europe by Christmas 2007. That is the estimated unangered fanbase Sony will have by then...

I can hear the casters crying because of the silent shot.

Hmmm, you sound like Kak... Except with PS3 instead of Wii. (Oh and try to rememeber to cap your post 12345, I forgot mine.)

+9 stamina on bracers +7 stamina on boots +100hp on head +100hp on chest Etc, etc. Paladins are unkillable unless you hit their mana pools. Simply manaburn him. Paladins are meant to do 2 things: take damage and heal. That and dispel magic. As a shammy I would use purges more that shocks when fighting pallies. They seal? I purge. They bless? I purge. It worked. Next time you see a pally, use dispel magic and manaburn. They only have one interrupt and it has a long cooldown. You get two stuns if your a ret nub like me And if you were like my pally, you had 3, a 1 hour spell breaker as well (cloacking device) and lots of other options. Still, on average, the pallies will have 1 interrupt readily available. And its not even a counterspell, so just fear him away, dispel his crap, and burn his mana. I can only think of one build able to survive that, and it will not be able to out damage your healing. My holy priest was once attacked by a shadow priest 5 levels higher. I outhealed the damage for about 5 minutes, he eventually gave up. I still laugh when I think about it.
-
And in general, beyond your personal experience but on average: did the PS2 have bigger hardware issues than the gamecube?
-
I dunno, there were some people on here who had issues with that. Smoke? No matter what the return policy, you have to admit that the PSP had more hardware troubles than the DS. And I believe the minimum was 1 pixel per screen...
-
I've killed plenty of paladins using only rage... Yeah but if I would have said any statement about any class you would have pointed out having killed some of them. As a warrior, you have only one option: outdps the healing. You have that option.
