  1. Obligatory link to Totaka's Song: And the wiki link listing the games it's in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazumi_Totaka
  2. I had a friend whose PSX version of Phantasia froze up every time he would get to the part where you're on the flying horse. I think it was Absolute Zero's version, so I've avoided it. That said, I've been waiting for Phantasian Production's translation for YEARS. I've actually already imported a copy of ToP for the PSX, around the same time they released their demo patch. I think my only complaint from what I've seen so far is that they make the Tech Ring available from the beginning, while they could just make it an option in controls by default, thus saving you the accessory slot. But yeah, they're taking their sweet time about it. I understand there's a need for completion and no one wants a sloppy job done, but...

  4. I am sad today, because last week my gaming rig died a painful death and now I'm stuck on my laptop, which can't hardly handle CS:S on a good day. So no TF2 until I get a replacement gaming computer.
  5. There's a Japanese language option, for those desiring it. The point of S&P is that the story is generic crazy post-Eva sci-fi, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Freaking LOVING this game. Playing on Normal Mode, just about every boss after the first couple of them have managed to kill me two or three times each. That one in the tunnel, with the spinning laser grates, probably got me three times before I beat it with no health lost. Just finished Stage 3, and will definitely be going back for more later. Also, I agree with Necrotic: it isn't Sin and Punishment if it makes sense, has good voice acting, or is easy.
  6. I seriously cannot read this. I've tried like, four times now, and I can make it about halfway through the first line before my head starts to hurt. Can someone translate this into actual English, please?
  7. ^ Stop that, I want to hear what he has to say. Coyote: have you seen any similarities as far as the battle system goes? I realize very little of the mechanics have been shown off, but I'm interested to know exactly how much like 11 this is (I never played 11).
  8. It's more that they just fixed the lighting code up - there's less ambient light and more light occlusion and actual light sources - the shop guy with the pane of light in front of him or the lights hanging from the ceiling are good examples. Also, new shadow code - in the second shot of a character walking, you can see much better-defined shadows. The textures are definitely looking better. Battle system looks a LOT better, and will definitely be interesting in groups. The combination of increased speed and not having to keep the ATB gauge completely full will make things interesting, especially for magic users - instead of higher MP costs for bigger (-ga) spells, they might just have to wait longer... Or they could even give the option, like a range - you can activate the spell at any time in this range, but the longer you wait, the less MP it costs... hm.
  9. I am interested - I can actually play this on my laptop, which means being connected for more than an hour without overheating spectacularly.
  10. 1 point for Extinguish, too. Though I still agree Engineer nets you the most.
  11. ... So no one has heard of the issues with how unbelievably glitchy Graces is? The same site posted above, Sankaku Complex, already pointed out the numerous problems with the game, totalling in a recall of all units for a disc swap at a later date. (Links again NSFW, same site as above.) Now that's hardly enough to bankrupt Tales Studios on its own, but you add in hiring a famous manga artist to design the characters for every game, Sakuraba (who, despite the (somewhat deserved) hate he's getting ITT, cannot be cheap), and... hell, I dunno what else might cause it. Did the Tales crossover games suck? Did Tales of VS cost a ton and not sell?
  12. That's the one I'm talking about. SPLIT THE BUTTONS DAMMIT.
  13. Not this again... get over it, Coop. The GBA's dead. It's like you're complaining about the Wii not having N64 compatibility, cripes. Just hold onto your old DS and stop bitching about it.
  14. Except that they're still using those one-button mice that give no haptic feedback about which side of the mouse you're actually pressing. It's annoying as hell.
  15. False. I vaguely remember that they announced they were working on the Linux client around the same time they announced the Mac one, too. I'm searching around online, and Phoronix has some pretty good evidence that it's on the way. I assumed everyone knew it was coming, I was just asking about when. Valve Time being as it is (I'm no novice to it), and with Engy update, Portal 2, and the (rumored) Episode 3 stuff, I'd expect it won't be out until at least August or September.
  16. Oh, okay, I thought it was directed at me. Aaanyways... so, any predictions on when the Engineer update will come out? Or Steam for Linux, for that matter?
  17. Wait what? This is the TF2 thread... am I going crazy?
  18. Behold, the OTHER reason I don't play TF2 anymore: the computer capable of playing it has a shitty network card (there was never a 64bit Windows driver released for it, long story short), and my connection is a POS to begin with.
  19. Because I have a real life to worry about and I play in spurts. The last several months have been a "I have better things I could be doing" period, so I haven't been on much at all.
  20. I don't. There's no need to treat this like some tournament server; a little luck makes things more interesting.
  21. So long as we're being civil about them, there really shouldn't be a problem. djp, Darke, and Baha are already in the thread, so I guarantee it will be locked and forgotten if it gets out of hand. But in the end, it's only really an issue if you make it one. We're having a mature discussion, there's no need to panic over it.
  22. I was actually a little disappointed in this, no offense. After the other two volumes - at 62 and 107 minutes respectively - the SMK album's 36 minutes just felt like a letdown, especially after the numerous delays. I understand building a really good album is a difficult job, and quality > quantity, but sometimes quantity IS a form of quality. All of the songs on the SMK album were good - up to your usual par - but there simply wasn't enough of a good thing on there. Pardon if that sounds odd/misphrased - I don't mean any offense by it (but you're a cool enough guy that you won't jump to the wrong conclusions).
  23. First, get Steam. Second, Civ 4, Orange Box is a great deal.
