Shucks, guys. It was a pleasure (cough) evaluating your submeeshuns - and certainly a pleasure serving with Jon, Lee, and the rest of the panel! Every one of them deserves thanks for what they've done, and continue to do. I may not be judging no' mo', but I'll still be around doing other stuff for the site. (Help with coordinating official events, meetups, interviews, hopefully some VGDJ specials etc...) And although my original work has taken top priority in terms of musical endeavors, my remixing days are not over yet! I've just gotten a wee bit busy, now that I'm out of school and in the real world. If anyone here need vocals for their original music, let me know. I have a page describing my services here: http://www.jilliangoldin.com/services Gotta earn a living... (But don't worry, I do actually get good business this way - and it's not my only source of income. If I become a "true" starving artist, then you can be concerned, and buy 10 pity copies of my album. Nyuck!)

Hehe, well... you wouldn't have time to use the pool unless you guys either left early Saturday evening or woke up reaaaallly early Sunday morning. EDIT: Ouch, Kroze and I just exchanged addresses... The drive from his place to ours is actually 47 minutes - versus 20 minutes from the Philly apartment. It's still up to you guys, but I just thought you should know in case this changes anything.
-
Ha, none taken. We're glad to be out of that place! Our new apartment is much nicer, and in a pretty suburban neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants.
-
We have three comforters to spare, which could be used to help soften the floor below you. It's hardwood, though - no carpet. (And we wouldn't have any other additional blankets to provide for snuggliness over top.) So I do think Kroze's place would be more comfortable, especially if he has any couches or cots.
-
Okay, and yet another slight change of plans perhaps? Kroze lives in Cherry Hill, NJ, which is a 47 minute drive to Ardmore. He has graciously reported that he could host the other half of the group, if they'd prefer the longer commute over zircon's empty apartment. People might be more comfortable sleeping there. What do y'all say? For Saturday night, the breakdown looks like this. Those who are carpooling together will be kept in groups for logistical reasons, and then José was the next non-carpooler to post about definitely sleeping over, so Andy and I can take him under our wing. Ardmore: zircon pixietricks djpretzel & Anna, Palpable & Amy, and Xerol (all carpooling together Friday night) Bahamut (arriving Friday night) José the Bronx Rican With Kroze (or at the Philly apartment if people would rather do that over the 47-minute commute): Kroze & his girlfriend Dyne Sporknight Escariot, Dominique, and Geoffrey Taucer (all carpooling together; have to leave before the group breakfast on Sunday to get Tauce to his next destination) Katsurugi (still hasn't decided about sleepover?) And anyone else that may join up between now and June 28th! Thanks very much to Kroze for offering up his place! Although it'd be more comfortable there I'm sure, the commute is over twice as long. If you could post your preference, we'll get a sense of things! Anyone driving up Saturday morning is still welcome to park for free at our place in Ardmore if they arrive by 11:00 am. There's also parking in the city, but it'd probably be easier (and obviously cheaper) to do it in our lot.

WAIT! SOLUTION! Haaaaaahhahahaha... I can't believe we didn't think of this before. Andy and I will already be living in our apartment in Ardmore, yes, but our lease at the other place in University City doesn't expire until July 1st. So that means that everyone who can't fit in Ardmore will at least have plenty of space to sleep, and not worry about the Drexel dorms. Granted, it will not be particularly glamorous given that all the furniture will be gone... But we can leave a few lamps, and donate comforters to help make the floor softer. And hopefully people can bring their own blankets and sleeping bags as well. For anyone staying at 34th street, those things can be dropped off between 12 and 1 on Saturday while we're all waiting for the train to Manayunk. It's just a 15 minute walk to the apartment. After the festival during the day, people will be coming back to our place for BBQ and games anyway. So everyone can still stay as a big group to hang out. Going back to University City would just for the sleeping part, and then that group could come back in the morning for breakfast if they want! Escariot, Dominique, and Taucer would most likely be with the Philly group because they have to leave earlier Sunday to get Tauce where he needs to go. So as long as one other person with a car could join that sleepover group, the others could still come back in the morning easily (and for cheaper, if we all pitch in for gas). Will post more about space and spreading people out later tonight, after I've talked to more folks about their travel plans. Luckily, nobody will have to pay to stay in a hotel unless they want to, and the group will be about half and half, so nobody will be lonely!!!
-
Center City is pretty far, though, if you'd want to hang out the next morning. Before you book anything, maybe Sporknight will be able to report on whether he can host people. Or someone else who can may show up... EDIT: Or since your drive is only an hour, you could save money by commuting if nobody is able to host.
-
Where are you from? Maybe you can hitch a ride with someone else. Or if not, there's always public transportation. :3
-
Funny, I don't remember the sign-in thing ever being an issue for us considering we were out of town friends. But maybe the hall you're moving to is stricter?
-
I dunno, I'm gonna have to say that any games with stick-wagging are more fun than traditional controllers. They may not be as intuitive, but I don't care!
-
I'm visiting home right now, and my brother just bought it. I have to agree that it looks really good so far! Andy and I will hopefully be getting our own copy for free (since Capcom is crediting him two games for having his music in SSF2 Turbo: HD Remix, woooo). It took us a bit to realize that power slashes had to actually be done quickly, as opposed to perfectly straight. We kept trying to carefully draw them in, lol...
-
Andy and I will have to cap off the sleepover at 7 guests due to space. So far we're all booked, so that means as of now that Katsurugi, Dyne, and Sporknight won't be able to stay with us, sadly, since they aren't commuting as far. Anyone new reading this: if you live nearby and could host anyone, please let us know! Sporknight said he could host one guest in his Drexel dorm. So that makes accomodations for 11 people total so far if you include zircon and I. Sporknight: are you sure one guest is all you could do? When Andy was living in his closet of a Drexel dorm room, we managed to fit four people - two in bunk beds and two on the floor. :3 We probably won't have breakfast the next morning until around noon, so anyone having to commute would still have time and be welcome to return!

Haha, Dhsu... It WOULD be, but I still haven't even gotten Andy and mine from last month. They sent it to my old address. -

Yeah, that's how we artists get into the finals to begin with. The finals are the #1 in each genre, competing again each other for the last round. :> And wow, that was insane. I went from 30th to 2nd in the last hour and a half. It really does jump like mad. But let's hope next month is another good one for OCR! It'd be great to see zircon, sgx, and other new folks get back in the game. -

Audix and I both made it to the finals! Please lend a hand if you can. It's extremely competitive in this stage, so every vote counts! ^-^ -

Thanks, Dustin! In other news, "Avalon" (track 9) just won the New Age/World channel on OurStage, and is now competiting in the music finals for a $5,000 prize. OC ReMixer Audix is also in there as well. If you'd like to help out voting (less than 24 hours to go), check out the thread for more details! http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16396 -

We're both doin' good! -
Ohhhh, hehe... Drexel dorm rooms are like closets. Sorry, I didn't realize that you were living on campus. ^_~
-
We'll definitely make room for people coming from out of state! But perhaps if this does get really big, Sporknight could host some people since he's in University City. We'll see when it gets closer...
-
Cool! But yeah, it looks like we will be getting a lot of people at this meetup - it's only been two days since I posted the thread! Our new apartment is nice, but it's not huge and we do have very thin walls so sound travels to the neighbors. If this keeps up, we may have to give priority to people coming from a distance for the actual sleepover. (Those who live nearby could still meet up again in the morning for breakfast, though.)
-
We'd have to catch the 11:28 train, so the latest anyone coming early to park should arrive, to be safe, is 11:00.
-
Katsu et al: concerning the BBQ, people are welcome to bring things that don't need to be refrigerated as long as they don't mind carrying them around for the day. (Unless you'd be staying the night before, of course.) That being said, we can also just have everybody chip in a couple bucks at the end. Commuting from NJ shouldn't be expensive or time-consuming, me thinks. And there's always the possibility of carpools. Once you're actually here, the costs would just be regional rail ($3.50 and $7 round trip) and whatever other food or things you'd buy. And yays!

Will do, Audix! The more people that can help out with this, the merrier.
