Good luck, Jewbei! Great to see that the community has had a positive effect on your musical involvement. I'm especially psyched for Andy's "Rainforest Majesty" track in New Age/World this month. My parents and basically everyone I have played it for can't get enough... It really does sound like something that would be playing for those epic, sweeping rainforest shots in an IMAX Omni Theater presentation! (Sorry... I just saw two such shows recently, so my mind is replaying images.)

11:00 a.m. is the very latest time anyone can arrive to our apartment Saturday morning if they want to park their cars. We will be leaving to catch the train shortly after, so there won't really be much hanging out. Was that your plan? If so, you shoot to arrive a little earlier.

Andy and I definitely remember talking to Dave about it way back when... And I also remember Xerol bringing it up in IRC when he was there. But regardless, having three people in the back seat isn't really that bad. Andy and I drove from Baltimore to PA with 5 people in a rented PT Cruiser (read: tiny) with our stuff piled up practically to the ceiling (including laps) and it wasn't that bad. This, of course, would be nothing like that... :> As soon as Dave can give a definitive answer about hotel-age with Anna, we can figure out who'll be driving when and with whom. Phew!

Kulaman: we can't host any more people Friday night. Dave, Anna, Vinnie, Amy, Xerol, and Bahamut are all going to be there already. You two are welcome to journey up together Saturday morning, but it would still be nice if the former crew could fit Xerol since that was the original plan. Hoping Vinnie or Dave will see my previous post about that. In other news... Yes, you may want to register on OurStage.com if you haven't already! Andy could make it to the finals with TWO songs this month, so it would be really great to have your help voting at the meetup if that's the case. That would be fun, hehe.

Yeah, um... I even talked to Dave about it. I'm not sure why he didn't inform you, Vinnie... Xerol was in this from the beginning - even before significant others joined up. Are you sure you can't seat 5 people? No trunk? It's not like people will need much stuff for a short 2-day sleepover... Backpacks or duffles can be held on laps.

Jeremy's tough. If he can handle the bus ride from North Carolina to PA, he can handle this! Xerol, we should try to get a hold of Dave in IRC if he doesn't see this. Andy and I are busy unpacking and doing birthday activities today, but let me know if you're not successful.

I think the only second sleeping option at this point is Kroze's place, as opposed to our empty Philly apartment. There isn't going to be any air conditioning there, and the next tenants will likely be moving in by the 28th as it turns out. I would recommend that people arriving Saturday not drive unless it's really necessary, because it'll probably be more hassle than taking the train. :3 EDIT: And Atma, do you plan on coming to the BBQ and/or sleepover as well?

They said they should be able to easily sell 400-600 copies through retail distribution by the end of 2008 alone! And since I will still be doing my own sales through my website, CD Baby, iTunes etc... It's starting to look like this run of 1,000 copies will not be my last.

OC ReMix is looking for volunteers to help transcribe some official recorded interviews with composers Tommy Tallarico, Jack Wall (Myst series), Gerard Marino (God of War), Michael Salvatori (Halo series), and Marcus Henderson (guitarist for the Guitar Hero series). The recordings range from 7-20 minutes long, and are going to be added to the OC ReMix interview database - a new site feature! The writing will have to follow a certain format, but I will provide an example to make things easier. Interested? Yay! We just need good spellers/typists to help out with this over the next few days. It's a lot of text, but we can make sure nobody gets stuck with more than one. I agree that many WIPs go without comments, but you can't blame people from wanting to contribute advice more to songs that are further along. Sometimes people there are new to remixing completely - just experimenting - and post their stuff without really thinking about what could be improved. It's hard to give helpful advice to those people, other than "read the standards and try some tutorials." This has come up from time to time in the judges chat, but so far we haven't had any great ideas for how to improve that area of the site.

That was me singing, years and years ago, embarrassingly enough. I don't have it anymore, though! Maybe someone else will.
